Deuteronomy 11
1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway.
Szeresd az Örökkévalót, a te Istenedet, őrizd meg őrizetét, törvényeit, rendeleteit és parancsolatait minden időben.
2 And know ye this day: for [I speak] not with your children which have not known, and which have not seen the chastisement of the LORD your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, and his stretched out arm,
És tudjátok meg ma, hogy nem gyermekeitekhez (szólok), akik nem ismerik és akik nem látták az Örökkévaló, a ti Istenetek oktatását, az ő nagyságát, az ő erős kezét és kinyújtott karját,
3 and his signs, and his works, which he did in the midst of Egypt unto Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and unto all his land;
jeleit és tetteit, melyeket végzett Egyiptom közepette, Fáraón, Egyiptom királyán és egész országán;
4 and what he did unto the army of Egypt, unto their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Red Sea to overflow them as they pursued after you, and how the LORD hath destroyed them unto this day;
és amit tett Egyiptom seregével, lovaival és szekerével, hogy elárasztotta a nádastenger vizét rájuk, midőn üldöztek benneteket és elveszítette őket az Örökkévaló mind e mai napig;
5 and what he did unto you in the wilderness, until ye came unto this place;
és amit tett veletek a pusztában, amíg elérkeztetek erre a helyre;
6 and what he did unto Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben; how the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the midst of all Israel:
és amit tett Dátánnal és Ábirámmal, Eliov, Rúbén fiának fiaival, hogy fölnyitotta a föld az ő száját és elnyelte őket, házaikat, sátraikat és minden lényt, mely hozzájuk tartozott, egész Izrael közepette;
7 but your eyes have seen all the great work of the LORD which he did.
hanem szemeitek látták az Örökkévalónak minden nagy tettét, amelyet végzett.
8 Therefore shall ye keep all the commandment which I command thee this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go over to possess it;
Azért őrizzétek meg mind a parancsolatot, melyet én neked ma parancsolok, hogy erősek legyetek, bemenjetek és elfoglaljátok az országot ahova ti mentek, hogy azt elfoglaljátok,
9 and that ye may prolong your days upon the land, which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey.
és hogy hosszú életűek legyetek a földön, melyről megesküdött az Örökkévaló őseiteknek, hogy nekik adja és magzatuknak, a tejjel-mézzel folyó országot.
10 For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs:
Mert az ország, ahova te bemész, hogy azt elfoglaljad, nem olyan, mint Egyiptom országa, ahonnan kijöttetek, ahol magodat elveted és megöntözöd lábaddal, mint a zöldséges kertet;
11 but the land, whither ye go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, [and] drinketh water of the rain of heaven:
hanem az ország, ahova ti átvonultok, hogy elfoglaljátok, hegyes-völgyes ország, az ég esőjéből iszik vizet;
12 a land which the LORD thy God careth for; the eyes of the LORD thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.
olyan ország, melynek az Örökkévaló, a te Istened viseli gondját, állandóan rajta vannak az Örökkévaló, te Istenednek szemei, az év elejétől az év végéig.
13 And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul,
És lesz, ha hallgattok parancsolataimra amelyeket én ma nektek parancsolok, hogy szeressétek az Örökkévalót, a ti Isteneteket, hogy szolgáljátok őt egész szívetekkel és egész lelketekkel,
14 that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
akkor megadom országtok esőjét annak idejében, az őszi esőt és a tavaszi esőt, és betakarítod gabonádat, mustodat és olajadat.
15 And I will give grass in thy fields for thy cattle, and thou shalt eat and be full.
És adok füvet meződön barmodnak és te eszel és jóllaksz.
16 Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
Őrizkedjetek, hogy el ne csábíttassék szívetek, és ti eltértek és szolgáltok más isteneket és leborultok előttük;
17 and the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.
akkor fölgerjed az Örökkévaló haragja ellenetek és elzárja az eget, hogy ne legyen eső és a föld ne adja meg termését; és ti elvesztek hamar a jó országból, melyet az Örökkévaló nektek ad.
18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and ye shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.
Vegyétek azért eme szavaimat szívetekre és lelketekre, és kössétek azokat jelül kezetekre és legyenek homlokkötőül szemeitek között.
19 And ye shall teach them your children, talking of them, when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Tanítsátok meg azokra gyermekeiteket, beszélvén azokról, mikor ülsz házadban, mikor jársz az úton, mikor lefekszel és mikor fölkelsz.
20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:
És írd azokat házad ajtófeleire és kapuidra.
21 that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, upon the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.
Hogy sokasodjanak napjaid és gyermekeitek napjai a földön, melyről megesküdött az Örökkévaló őseiteknek, hogy nekik adja, mint az ég napjai a föld fölött.
22 For if ye shall diligently keep all this commandment which I command you, to do it; to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;
Mert ha megőrzitek mind a parancsolatot, melyet én nektek parancsolok, hogy megtegyétek, hogy szeressétek az ÖrökkévaIót, a ti Isteneteket, járjatok mind az ő útjain és ragaszkodjatok hozzá,
23 then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.
akkor elűzi az Örökkévaló mindama népeket előletek és elfoglaltok nagyobb és hatalmasabb nemzeteket nálatoknál.
24 Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the hinder sea shall be your border.
Minden hely, ahova lábatok talpa lép, a tiétek lesz, a pusztától és a Libanontól, a folyamtól, a Perosz folyamától a nyugati tengerig legyen a ti határotok.
25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath spoken unto you.
Nem állhat meg senki előttetek, a tőletek való rettegést és félelmet adja majd az Örökkévaló, a ti Istenetek az egész föld színére; ahova ti léptek, amint szólt hozzátok.
26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;
Lásd, én teszek ma elétek áldást és átkot.
27 the blessing, if ye shall hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
Az áldást, ha hallgattok az Örökkévaló, a ti Istenetek parancsaira, amelyeket én ma nektek parancsolok;
28 and the curse, if ye shall not hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
és az átkot, ha nem hallgattok az Örökkévaló, a ti Istenetek parancsaira és eltértek az útról, mélyet én nektek ma parancsolok, járván más istenek után, melyeket nem ismertek.
29 And it shall come to pass, when the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt set the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal.
És lesz, ha bevisz téged az Örökkévaló a te Istened az országba, ahova bemész, hogy azt elfoglaljad, akkor add az áldást a Gerizim hegyére az átkot pedig az Évol hegyére.
30 Are they not beyond Jordan, behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites which dwell in the Arabah, over against Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
Nemde azok a Jordánon túl vannak, a napnyugat felé vezető út mögött, a Kanaáni országában, aki a síkságon lakik, Gilgállal szemben, Móre tölgyei mellett.
31 For ye are to pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the LORD your God giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein.
Mert ti átvonultok a Jordánon, hogy bemenjetek elfoglalni az országot, melyet az Örökkévaló, a ti Istenetek nektek ad; ha elfoglaljátok és laktok benne,
32 And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and the judgments which I set before you this day.
akkor vigyázzatok, hogy megtegyétek mind a törvényeket és rendeleteket, melyeket én ma elétek teszek.
