Acts 5
1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,
Ṣùgbọ́n ọkùnrin kan ti a ń pè ni Anania, pẹ̀lú Safira aya rẹ̀, ta ilẹ̀ ìní kan.
2 and kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
Nípa ìmọ̀ aya rẹ̀ ó yan apá kan pamọ́ nínú owó náà, ó sì mú apá kan rẹ̀ wá, ó sì fi í lélẹ̀ lẹ́sẹ̀ àwọn aposteli.
3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land?
Ṣùgbọ́n Peteru wí pé, “Anania, èéṣe ti Satani fi kún ọkàn rẹ láti ṣèké sí Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́, tí ìwọ sì fi yan apá kan pamọ́ nínú owó ilẹ̀ náà?
4 Whiles it remained, did it not remain thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thy power? How is it that thou hast conceived this thing in thy heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
Nígbà tí ó wà níbẹ̀ tìrẹ kọ́ ní í ṣe? Nígbà tí a sì ta á tan, kò ha wà ní ìkáwọ́ rẹ̀? Èéha ti ṣe tí ìwọ fi rò nǹkan yìí lọ́kàn rẹ? Ènìyàn kọ́ ni ìwọ ṣèké sí bí kò ṣe sí Ọlọ́run?”
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down and gave up the ghost: and great fear came upon all that heard it.
Nígbà tí Anania sí gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí, ó ṣubú lulẹ̀, ó sì kú, ẹ̀rù ńlá sí ba gbogbo àwọn tí ó gbọ́.
6 And the young men arose and wrapped him round, and they carried him out and buried him.
Àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin sí dìde, wọ́n dì í, wọn sì gbé è jáde, wọn sì sin ín.
7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.
Ó sì tó bí ìwọ̀n wákàtí mẹ́ta, aya rẹ̀ láìmọ̀ ohun tí ó ti ṣẹlẹ̀, ó wọlé.
8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much. And she said, Yea, for so much.
Peteru sì béèrè lọ́wọ́ rẹ̀ pé, “Wí fún mi, ṣé iye yìí ni ìwọ àti Anania gbà lórí ilẹ̀?” Ó sì wí pé, “Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni, iye rẹ̀ náà ni.”
9 But Peter [said] unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and they shall carry thee out.
Peteru sí wí fún un pé, “Èéṣe ti ẹ̀yin fohùn ṣọ̀kan láti dán Ẹ̀mí Olúwa wò? Wò ó, ẹsẹ̀ àwọn tí ó sìnkú ọkọ rẹ ń bẹ ní ẹnu-ọ̀nà, wọn ó sì gbe ìwọ náà jáde.”
10 And she fell down immediately at his feet, and gave up the ghost: and the young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
Lójúkan náà ó sì ṣubú lulẹ̀ lẹ́sẹ̀ rẹ̀, ó sì kú; àwọn ọ̀dọ́mọkùnrin sì wọlé wọ́n bá a ní òkú, wọ́n sì gbé e jáde, wọ́n sín in lẹ́bàá ọkọ rẹ̀.
11 And great fear came upon the whole church, and upon all that heard these things.
Ẹ̀rù ńlá sì bá gbogbo ìjọ àti gbogbo àwọn tí ó gbọ́ nǹkan wọ̀nyí.
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.
A sì ti ọwọ́ àwọn aposteli ṣe iṣẹ́ àmì àti iṣẹ́ ìyanu púpọ̀ láàrín àwọn ènìyàn. Gbogbo wọn sì fi ọkàn kan wà ní ìloro Solomoni.
13 But of the rest durst no man join himself to them: howbeit the people magnified them;
Kò sí nínú àwọn ìyókù tí ó jẹ́ gbìyànjú láti darapọ̀ mọ́ wọn, bí ó tilẹ̀ jẹ́ pé àwọn ènìyàn ń fi ọ̀wọ̀ gíga fún wọn.
14 and believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women;
Ṣùgbọ́n síbẹ̀síbẹ̀, a sì ń yan àwọn ọkùnrin àti àwọn obìnrin tí ó gba Olúwa gbọ́ kún iye wọn sí i.
15 insomuch that they even carried out the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that, as Peter came by, at the least his shadow might overshadow some one of them.
Tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí wọn ń gbé àwọn abirùn jáde sí òpópónà, tí wọn ń tẹ́ wọn sí orí ibùsùn àti àkéte kí òjìji Peteru ba à le gba orí ẹlòmíràn nínú wọn bí ó bá ti ń kọjá lọ.
16 And there also came together the multitude from the cities round about Jerusalem, bringing sick folk, and them that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Ọ̀pọ̀ ènìyàn sì kó ara wọn jọ láti àwọn ìlú tí ó yí Jerusalẹmu ká, wọn ń mú àwọn abirùn wá àti àwọn tí ara kan fún ẹ̀mí àìmọ́; a sì mu olúkúlùkù wọn ní ara dá.
17 But the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,
Nígbà náà ni ẹ̀mí owú gbígbóná gbé olórí àlùfáà àti gbogbo àwọn tí wọn wà lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ tí ì ṣe ẹ̀yà tí àwọn Sadusi wọ̀.
18 and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in public ward.
Wọ́n sì nawọ́ mú àwọn aposteli wọn sì fi wọ́n sínú túbú.
19 But an angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them out, and said,
Ṣùgbọ́n ní òru, angẹli Olúwa ṣí ìlẹ̀kùn túbú; ó sì mú wọn jáde.
20 Go ye, and stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this Life.
Ó sì wí pé “Ẹ lọ dúró nínú tẹmpili kí ẹ sì máa ṣọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ ìyè yìí ní ẹ̀kúnrẹ́rẹ́ fún àwọn ènìyàn.”
21 And when they heard [this], they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison-house to have them brought.
Nígbà tí wọ́n sì gbọ́ èyí, wọ́n wọ tẹmpili lọ ní kùtùkùtù, wọ́n sì ń kọ́ni. Nígbà tí olórí àlùfáà àti àwọn ti ń bẹ lọ́dọ̀ rẹ̀ dé, wọn sì pè àpéjọ ìgbìmọ̀, àti gbogbo àwọn àgbàgbà àwọn ọmọ Israẹli, wọn sì ránṣẹ́ sí ilé túbú láti mú àwọn aposteli wá.
22 But the officers that came found them not in the prison; and they returned, and told,
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí àwọn olùṣọ́ dé ibẹ̀ wọn kò sì rí wọn nínú túbú, wọn padà wá, wọn sísọ fún wọn pé,
23 saying, The prison-house we found shut in all safety, and the keepers standing at the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.
“Àwa bá ilé túbú ni títí pinpin, àti àwọn olùṣọ́ dúró lóde níwájú ìlẹ̀kùn; ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí àwa ṣí ìlẹ̀kùn, àwa kò bá ẹnìkan nínú túbú.”
24 Now when the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were much perplexed concerning them whereunto this would grow.
Nígbà tí olórí ẹ̀ṣọ́ tẹmpili àti àwọn olórí àlùfáà sí gbọ́ ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí, wọ́n dààmú nítorí wọn kò mọ ibi tí ọ̀rọ̀ yìí yóò yọrí sí.
25 And there came one and told them, Behold, the men whom ye put in the prison are in the temple standing and teaching the people.
Nígbà náà ni ẹnìkan dé, ó wí fún wọn pé, “Wò ó, àwọn ọkùnrin tí ẹ̀yin fi sínú túbú wà ní tẹmpili, wọn dúró wọ́n sì ń kọ́ àwọn ènìyàn.”
26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them, [but] without violence; for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
Nígbà náà ni olórí ẹ̀ṣọ́ lọ pẹ̀lú àwọn olùṣọ́, ó sì mú àwọn aposteli wá. Wọn kò fi ipá mú wọn, nítorí tí wọn bẹ̀rù àwọn ènìyàn kí a má ba à sọ wọ́n ní òkúta.
27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them,
Nígbà tí wọn sì mú àwọn aposteli dé, wọn mú wọn dúró níwájú àjọ ìgbìmọ̀; olórí àlùfáà sì bi wọ́n léèrè.
28 saying, We straitly charged you not to teach in this name: and behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
Ó wí pé, “Àwa kò ha ti kìlọ̀ fún un yín gidigidi pé, kí ẹ má ṣe fi orúkọ yìí kọ́ni, síbẹ̀ ẹ̀yin ti fi ìkọ́ni yín kún Jerusalẹmu, ẹ sì ń pète àti mú ẹ̀bi ẹ̀jẹ̀ ọkùnrin yìí wá sí orí wá.”
29 But Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men.
Ṣùgbọ́n Peteru àti àwọn aposteli dáhùn, wọ́n sì wí pé, “Àwa kò gbọdọ̀ má gbọ́ tí Ọlọ́run ju ti ènìyàn lọ!
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.
Ọlọ́run àwọn baba wa jí Jesu dìde kúrò ní ipò òkú, ẹni tí ẹ̀yin pa nípa gbígbékọ́ sí orí igi.
31 Him did God exalt with his right hand [to be] a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.
Òun ni Ọlọ́run fi ọwọ́ ọ̀tún rẹ̀ gbé gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ọmọ-aládé àti Olùgbàlà láti fi ìrònúpìwàdà àti ìdáríjì ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ fún Israẹli.
32 And we are witnesses of these things; and [so is] the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.
Àwa sì ni ẹlẹ́rìí nǹkan wọ̀nyí, àti gẹ́gẹ́ bí Ẹ̀mí Mímọ́ ti ṣe ẹlẹ́rìí pẹ̀lú, tí Ọlọ́run fi fún àwọn tí ó gbà á gbọ́.”
33 But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were minded to slay them.
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí wọ́n gbọ́ èyí, ọkàn wọn gbọgbẹ́ dé inú, wọ́n gbèrò láti pa wọ́n.
34 But there stood up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in honour of all the people, and commanded to put the men forth a little while.
Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀kan nínú àjọ ìgbìmọ̀, tí a ń pè ni Gamalieli, Farisi àti amòfin, tí ó ní ìyìn gidigidi lọ́dọ̀ gbogbo ènìyàn, ó dìde dúró, ó ni kí a mú àwọn aposteli bì sẹ́yìn díẹ̀.
35 And he said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves as touching these men, what ye are about to do.
Ó sì wí fún wọn pé “Ẹ̀yin ènìyàn Israẹli, ẹ kíyèsi ara yín lóhùn tí ẹ̀yin ń pète láti ṣe sí àwọn ọkùnrin wọ̀nyí.
36 For before these days rose up Theudas, giving himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nought.
Nítorí ṣáájú ọjọ́ wọ̀nyí ni Teuda dìde, ó ń wí pé, ẹni ńlá kan ní òun; ẹni tí ìwọ̀n irinwó ọkùnrin dara wọn pọ̀ mọ́; ṣùgbọ́n a pa á; àti gbogbo iye àwọn tí ó gba tirẹ̀ sì túká, tí wọn sí di asán.
37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the enrollment, and drew away [some of the] people after him: he also perished; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
Lẹ́yìn ọkùnrin yìí ni Judasi ti Galili dìde ni àkókò kíka àwọn ènìyàn, ó sì ni ẹni púpọ̀ lẹ́yìn rẹ̀; òun pẹ̀lú ṣègbé; àti gbogbo iye àwọn tí ó gba tirẹ̀ ni a fọ́nká.
38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will be overthrown:
Ǹjẹ́ èmi wí fún un yín nísinsin yìí, ṣọ́ra fún àwọn ọkùnrin wọ̀nyí, kí ẹ sí fi wọn sílẹ̀, nítorí bí ìmọ̀ tàbí iṣẹ́ yìí bá jẹ́ ti ènìyàn, a ó bì í ṣubú.
39 but if it is of God, ye will not be able to overthrow them; lest haply ye be found even to be fighting against God.
Ṣùgbọ́n bí ti Ọlọ́run bá ní, ẹ̀yin kì yóò lè bì í ṣubú; kí ó má ba à jẹ́ pé, a rí yín bí ẹni tí ń bá Ọlọ́run jà.”
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles unto them, they beat them and charged them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
Wọ́n sì gbà ìmọ̀ràn rẹ̀. Wọn pe àwọn aposteli wọlé, wọ́n si lù wọ́n. Wọn sí kìlọ̀ fún wọn pé kí wọn má ṣe sọ̀rọ̀ ni orúkọ Jesu mọ́, wọ́n sì jọ̀wọ́ wọn sílẹ̀ lọ.
41 They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonour for the Name.
Nítorí náà wọn sì lọ kúrò níwájú àjọ ìgbìmọ̀; wọn ń yọ̀ nítorí tí a kà wọ́n yẹ láti jìyà nítorí orúkọ rẹ̀.
42 And every day, in the temple and at home, they ceased not to teach and to preach Jesus [as] the Christ.
Ní ojoojúmọ́ nínú tẹmpili àti ni ojúlé dé ojúlé, wọn kò dẹ́kun kíkọ́ni àti láti wàásù ìyìnrere náà pé Jesu ni Kristi.
