Acts 18
1 After these things he departed from Athens, and came to Corinth.
೧ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಪೌಲನು ಅಥೇನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊರಿಂಥಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
2 And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by race, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome: and he came unto them;
೨ಪೊಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಅಕ್ವಿಲನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡನು. ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ರೋಮಾಪುರವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕ್ಲೌದಿಯ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿಯು ಆಜ್ಞೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ಕಾರಣ ಅಕ್ವಿಲನೂ ಅವನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಪ್ರಿಸ್ಕಿಲ್ಲಳೂ ಕೆಲವು ದಿನಗಳ ಮೊದಲೇ ಇತಾಲ್ಯ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು.
3 and because he was of the same trade, he abode with them, and they wrought; for by their trade they were tentmakers.
೩ಪೌಲನು ಅವರ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಾನೂ, ಅವರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಕಸುಬಿನವರಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡವಿದ್ದು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು; ಗುಡಾರಮಾಡುವುದು ಅವರ ಕಸುಬಾಗಿತ್ತು.
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded Jews and Greeks.
೪ಅವನು ಪ್ರತಿ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವೂ ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನೂ ಗ್ರೀಕರನ್ನೂ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
5 But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was constrained by the word, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.
೫ಸೀಲನೂ ಮತ್ತು ತಿಮೊಥೆಯನೂ ಮಕೆದೋನ್ಯದಿಂದ ಬಂದಾಗ ಪೌಲನು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬೋಧಿಸುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಾಸಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿ ಯೇಸುವೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಖಚಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಹೇಳಿದನು.
6 And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook out his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood [be] upon your own heads; I am clean: from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.
೬ಅವರು ಎದುರಿಸಿ, ದೂಷಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಝಾಡಿಸಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ; “ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವೇ ಹೊಣೆ. ನಾನು ಶುದ್ಧನು. ನಾನು ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ,
7 And he departed thence, and went into the house of a certain man named Titus Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.
೭ಆ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದ ತೀತ ಯುಸ್ತನೆಂಬುವನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅವನ ಮನೆಯು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತು.
8 And Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
೮ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ಪನು ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಸಹಿತ ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟನು. ಮತ್ತು ಕೊರಿಂಥದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಜನರು ಪೌಲನ ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವಿಟ್ಟು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
9 And the Lord said unto Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:
೯ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಕರ್ತನು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಪೌಲನಿಗೆ ದರ್ಶನ ಕೊಟ್ಟು; “ನೀನು ಹೆದರಬೇಡ; ಆದರೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರದೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರು,
10 for I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to harm thee: for I have much people in this city.
೧೦ನಾನೇ ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಯಾರೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
11 And he dwelt [there] a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
೧೧ಅವನು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಇದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಆ ಜನರಿಗೆ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
12 But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul, and brought him before the judgment-seat,
೧೨ಗಲ್ಲಿಯೋನನು ಅಖಾಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿರಲು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಒಗ್ಗಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಪೌಲನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಅವನನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಸ್ಥಾನದ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಿಡಿದು ತಂದು;
13 saying, This man persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.
೧೩“ಇವನು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಆರಾಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು” ದೂರುಹೇಳಿದರು.
14 But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If indeed it were a matter of wrong or of wicked villany, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:
೧೪ಪೌಲನು ಪ್ರತಿವಾದ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾಗ ಗಲ್ಲಿಯೋನನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ; “ಎಲೈ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೇ, ಅನ್ಯಾಯವು, ದುಷ್ಕರ್ಮವು ಇಂಥದೇನಾದರೂ ಇದ್ದಪಕ್ಷಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಸಹನೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳುವುದು ನ್ಯಾಯವೇ.
15 but if they are questions about words and names and your own law, look to it yourselves; I am not minded to be a judge of these matters.
೧೫ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಮಾಡುವ ವಿವಾದವು ಬೋಧನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಹೆಸರುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಕುರಿತದ್ದಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಇಂಥ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಣೆಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನಗಂತೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ,
16 And he drave them from the judgment-seat.
೧೬ಅವರನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಸ್ಥಾನದ ಸ್ಥಳದಿಂದ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.
17 And they all laid hold on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment-seat. And Gallio cared for none of these things.
೧೭ಆಗ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷನಾದ ಸೋಸ್ಥೆನನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಹೊಡೆದರು. ಗಲ್ಲಿಯೋನನು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
18 And Paul, having tarried after this yet many days, took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence for Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchreae: for he had a vow.
೧೮ಪೌಲನು ಇನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ದಿನಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಅನಂತರ ಸಹೋದರರಿಂದ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ತನಗೆ ದೀಕ್ಷೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಕೆಂಖ್ರೆಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ಷೌರಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹಡಗನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿ ಸಿರಿಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟನು. ಪ್ರಿಸ್ಕಿಲ್ಲಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಕ್ವಿಲನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೊರಟರು.
19 And they came to Ephesus, and he left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.
೧೯ಎಫೆಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ತಾನು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಸಂಗಡ ವಾದಿಸಿದನು.
20 And when they asked him to abide a longer time, he consented not;
೨೦ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಕೆಲವು ಕಾಲ ಇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಅವನು ಒಪ್ಪದೆ,
21 but taking his leave of them, and saying, I will return again unto you, if God will, he set sail from Ephesus.
೨೧“ದೇವರ ಚಿತ್ತವಾದರೆ ಪುನಃ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು” ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು. ಅನಂತರ ಎಫೆಸದಿಂದ ಸಮುದ್ರಪ್ರಯಾಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೈಸರೈಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಳಿದು,
22 And when he had landed at Caesarea, he went up and saluted the church, and went down to Antioch.
೨೨ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿ ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು.
23 And having spent some time [there], he departed, and went through the region of Galatia and Phrygia in order, stablishing all the disciples.
೨೩ಪೌಲನು ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಕಾಲ ಇದ್ದು ಪುನಃ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ಗಲಾತ್ಯ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಫ್ರುಗ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಂಚಾರಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸಿದನು.
24 Now a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by race, a learned man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the scriptures.
೨೪ಅಷ್ಟರೊಳಗೆ ಅಲೆಕ್ಸಾಂದ್ರಿಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ಅಪೊಲ್ಲೋಸನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನು ಎಫೆಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅವನು ವಾಕ್ಚಾತುರ್ಯವುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೀಣನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.
25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spake and taught carefully the things concerning Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John:
೨೫ಅವನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪದೇಶ ಹೊಂದಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು ಮತ್ತು ಆಸಕ್ತ ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೋಹಾನನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನವನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಬಲ್ಲವನಾದರೂ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿದನು.
26 and he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more carefully.
೨೬ಅವನು ಸಭಾಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಧೈರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಿಸ್ಕಿಲ್ಲಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಕ್ವಿಲನೂ ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವರ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮವಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
27 And when he was minded to pass over into Achaia, the brethren encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him: and when he was come, he helped them much which had believed through grace:
೨೭ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಖಾಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಾದಾಗ ಸಹೋದರರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೋತ್ಸಾಹಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಇವನನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಬರೆದುಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
28 for he powerfully confuted the Jews, [and that] publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.
೨೮ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೇಸುವೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂದು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯದಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟು ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಲವಾಗಿ ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ರುಜುವಾತುಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸಿ ದೇವರ ಕೃಪೆಯಿಂದ ನಂಬಿದವರಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಿದನು.
