Acts 14
1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.
Ó sí ṣe, ni Ikoniomu, Paulu àti Barnaba jùmọ̀ wọ inú Sinagọgu àwọn Júù lọ, wọ́n sì sọ̀rọ̀ tó bẹ́ẹ̀ tí ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ àwọn Júù àti àwọn Helleni gbàgbọ́.
2 But the Jews that were disobedient stirred up the souls of the Gentiles, and made them evil affected against the brethren.
Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn aláìgbàgbọ́ Júù rú ọkàn àwọn aláìkọlà sókè, wọ́n sì mú wọn ni ọkàn ìkorò sí àwọn arákùnrin náà.
3 Long time therefore they tarried [there] speaking boldly in the Lord, which bare witness unto the word of his grace, granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
Nítorí náà Paulu àti Barnaba gbé ibẹ̀ pẹ́, wọ́n ń fi ìgboyà sọ̀rọ̀ nínú Olúwa, ẹni tí ó jẹ́rìí sí ọ̀rọ̀ oore-ọ̀fẹ́ rẹ̀, ó sì mu kí iṣẹ́ àmì àti iṣẹ́ ìyanu máa ti ọwọ́ wọn ṣe.
4 But the multitude of the city was divided; and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
Ṣùgbọ́n àwọn ènìyàn ìlú náà pín sí méjì: apá kan dàpọ̀ mọ́ àwọn Júù, apá kan pẹ̀lú àwọn aposteli.
5 And when there was made an onset both of the Gentiles and of the Jews with their rulers, to entreat them shamefully, and to stone them,
Bí àwọn aláìkọlà, àti àwọn Júù pẹ̀lú àwọn olórí wọn ti fẹ́ kọlù wọ́n láti fi àbùkù kàn wọ́n, àti láti sọ wọ́n ní òkúta,
6 they became aware of it, and fled unto the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra and Derbe, and the region round about:
wọ́n gbọ́ nípa rẹ̀, wọ́n sì sálọ sí Lysra, àti Dabe, àwọn ìlú Likaonia àti sí agbègbè àyíká.
7 and there they preached the gospel.
Níbẹ̀ ni wọ́n sì ń wàásù ìyìnrere.
8 And at Lystra there sat a certain man, impotent in his feet, a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked.
Ọkùnrin kan sí jókòó ni Lysra, ẹni tí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ̀ kò mókun, arọ láti inú ìyá rẹ̀ wá, tí kò rìn rí.
9 The same heard Paul speaking: who, fastening his eyes upon him, and seeing that he had faith to be made whole,
Ọkùnrin yìí gbọ́ bí Paulu ti ń sọ̀rọ̀: ẹni, nígbà tí ó tẹjúmọ́ ọn ti ó sì rí i pé, ó ni ìgbàgbọ́ fún ìmúláradá.
10 said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped up and walked.
Ó wí fún un ní ohùn rara pé, “Dìde dúró ṣánṣán lórí ẹsẹ̀ rẹ!” Ó sì ń fò sókè, ó sì ń rìn.
11 And when the multitudes saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voice, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods are come down to us in the likeness of men.
Nígbà tí àwọn ènìyàn sì rí ohun tí Paulu ṣe, wọ́n gbé ohùn wọn sókè ni èdè Likaonia, wí pé, “Àwọn ọlọ́run sọ̀kalẹ̀ tọ̀ wá wá ni àwọ̀ ènìyàn!”
12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, because he was the chief speaker.
Wọn sì pe Barnaba ni Seusi àti Paulu ni Hermesi nítorí òun ni olórí ọ̀rọ̀ sísọ.
13 And the priest of Jupiter whose [temple] was before the city, brought oxen and garlands unto the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the multitudes.
Àlùfáà Seusi, ẹni ti ilé òrìṣà rẹ̀ wá lẹ́yìn odi ìlú wọn sì mú màlúù àti màrìwò wá sí ẹnu ibodè láti rú ẹbọ pẹ̀lú ìjọ ènìyàn sí àwọn aposteli wọ̀nyí.
14 But when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of it, they rent their garments, and sprang forth among the multitude, crying out
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí àwọn aposteli Barnaba àti Paulu gbọ́, wọ́n fa aṣọ wọn ya, wọn sí súré wọ inú àwùjọ, wọn ń ké rara pé:
15 and saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and bring you good tidings, that ye should turn from these vain things unto the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:
“Ará, èéṣe ti ẹ̀yin fi ń ṣe nǹkan wọ̀nyí? Ènìyàn bí ẹ̀yin náà ni àwa ń ṣe pẹ̀lú, ti a sì ń wàásù ìyìnrere fún yín, kí ẹ̀yin ba à lè yípadà kúrò nínú ohun asán wọ̀nyí sí Ọlọ́run alààyè, tí ó dá ọ̀run àti ayé, òkun, àti ohun gbogbo tí ń bẹ nínú wọn.
16 who in the generations gone by suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways.
Ní ìran tí ó ti kọjá, ó faradà á fún gbogbo orílẹ̀-èdè, láti máa rìn ni ọ̀nà tiwọn.
17 And yet he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave you from heaven rains and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.
Ṣùgbọ́n kò fi ara rẹ̀ sílẹ̀ ní àìní ẹ̀rí, ní ti pé ó ṣe rere, ó ń fún yín lójò láti ọ̀run wá, àti ni àkókò èso, ó ń fi oúnjẹ àti ayọ̀ kún ọkàn yín.”
18 And with these sayings scarce restrained they the multitudes from doing sacrifice unto them.
Díẹ̀ ni ó kù kí wọn má le fi ọ̀rọ̀ wọ̀nyí dá àwọn ènìyàn dúró, kí wọn má ṣe rú ẹbọ bọ wọ́n.
19 But there came Jews thither from Antioch and Iconium: and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul, and dragged him out of the city, supposing that he was dead.
Àwọn Júù kan sì ti Antioku àti Ikoniomu wá, nígbà tí wọ́n yí àwọn ènìyàn lọ́kàn padà, wọ́n sì sọ Paulu ní òkúta, wọ́n wọ́ ọ kúrò sí ẹ̀yin odi ìlú náà, wọn ṣe bí ó ti kú.
20 But as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up, and entered into the city: and on the morrow he went forth with Barnabas to Derbe.
Ṣùgbọ́n nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn dúró ti i yíká, ó dìde ó sì padà wọ inú ìlú náà lọ. Ní ọjọ́ kejì ó bá Barnaba lọ sí Dabe.
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch,
Nígbà tí wọ́n sì ti wàásù ìyìnrere fún ìlú náà, tí wọ́n sì ni ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn púpọ̀, wọn padà lọ sí Lysra, àti Ikoniomu, àti Antioku,
22 confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God.
wọn sì ń mú àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn lọ́kàn le, wọ́n sì ń gbà wọ́n níyànjú láti dúró nínú ìgbàgbọ́, àti pé nínú ìpọ́njú púpọ̀, ni àwa ó fi wọ ìjọba Ọlọ́run.
23 And when they had appointed for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they had believed.
Nígbà tí wọ́n sì ti yan àwọn alàgbà fún olúkúlùkù ìjọ, tí wọn sì ti fi àwẹ̀ gbàdúrà, wọn fi wọ́n lé Olúwa lọ́wọ, ẹni tí wọn gbàgbọ́.
24 And they passed through Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia.
Nígbà tí wọn sí la Pisidia já, wọ́n wá sí Pamfilia.
25 And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia;
Nígbà tí wọn sì ti sọ ọ̀rọ̀ náà ni Perga, wọ́n sọ̀kalẹ̀ lọ sí Atalia.
26 and thence they sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled.
Àti láti ibẹ̀ lọ wọ́n ṣíkọ̀ lọ sí Antioku ní ibi tí a gbé ti fi wọ́n lé oore-ọ̀fẹ́ Ọlọ́run lọ́wọ́, fún iṣẹ́ tí wọ́n ṣe parí.
27 And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all things that God had done with them, and how that he had opened a door of faith unto the Gentiles.
Nígbà tí wọ́n sì dé, tí wọ́n sì pé ìjọ jọ, wọ́n ròhìn gbogbo ohun tí Ọlọ́run fi wọ́n ṣe, àti bí ó ti ṣí ìlẹ̀kùn ìgbàgbọ́ fún àwọn aláìkọlà.
28 And they tarried no little time with the disciples.
Níbẹ̀ ni wọ́n ń gbé pẹ̀lú àwọn ọmọ-ẹ̀yìn ni ọjọ́ púpọ̀.
