2 Samuel 5
1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
১পরে ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত বংশ হিব্রোণে দায়ূদের কাছে এসে বলল, “দেখুন, আমরা আপনার হাড় ও মাংস৷
2 In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was thou that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.
২আগে যখন শৌল আমাদের রাজা ছিলেন, তখন আপনিই ইস্রায়েলকে বাইরে ও ভিতরে নিয়ে যেতেন৷ আর সদাপ্রভু আপনাকে বলেছিলেন, ‘তুমিই আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলকে চরাবে ও ইস্রায়েলের নায়ক হবে৷’”
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.
৩এই ভাবে ইস্রায়েলের প্রাচীনেরা সবাই হিব্রোণে রাজার কাছে আসলেন; তাতে দায়ূদ রাজা হিব্রোণে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে তাঁদের সঙ্গে নিয়ম করলেন এবং তাঁরা ইস্রায়েলের উপরে দায়ূদকে রাজপদে অভিষিক্ত করলেন৷
4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.
৪দায়ূদ ত্রিশ বছর বয়সে রাজত্ব করতে শুরু করেন এবং চল্লিশ বছর রাজত্ব করেন৷
5 In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six mouths: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
৫তিনি হিব্রোণে যিহূদার উপরে সাত বছর ছমাস রাজত্ব করেন; পরে যিরূশালেমে সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল ও যিহূদার উপরে তেত্রিশ বছর রাজত্ব করেন৷
6 And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.
৬পরে রাজা ও তাঁর লোকেরা দেশে বসবাসকারী যিবূষীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে যিরূশালেমে যাত্রা করলেন; তাতে তারা দায়ূদকে বলল, “তুমি এই জায়গায় প্রবেশ করতে পারবে না, অন্ধ ও খোঁড়ারাই তোমাকে তাড়িয়ে দেবে৷” তারা ভেবেছিল, দাযূদ এই জায়গায় প্রবেশ করতে পারবেন না৷
7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
৭কিন্তু দায়ূদ সিয়োনের দুর্গ দখল করলেন; সেটাই দায়ূদ-নগর৷
8 And David said on that day, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse, and [smite] the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul. Wherefore they say, There are the blind and the lame; he cannot come into the house.
৮ঐ দিনের দায়ূদ বললেন, “যে কেউ যিবূষীয়দেরকে আঘাত করে, সে জলস্রোত দিয়ে গিয়ে দায়ূদের প্রাণের ঘৃণিত খোঁড়া ও অন্ধদের আঘাত করুক৷” যেহেতু, লোকে বলে, “অন্ধ ও খোঁড়ারা রয়েছে, সে ঘরের মধ্যে প্রবেশ করবে না৷”
9 And David dwelt in the strong hold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.
৯আর দায়ূদ সেই দুর্গে বাস করে তার নাম রাখলেন দায়ূদ-নগর এবং দায়ূদ মিল্লো থেকে ভিতর পর্যন্ত চারিদিকে প্রাচীর গাঁথলেন৷
10 And David waxed greater and greater; for the LORD, the God of hosts, was with him.
১০পরে দায়ূদ ক্রমশ মহান হয়ে উঠলেন, কারণ বাহিনীগণের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভূ, তাঁর সহবর্ত্তী ছিলেন৷
11 And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters, and masons: and they built David an house.
১১আর সোরের রাজা হীরম দায়ূদের কাছে দূতদেরকে এবং এরস কাঠ, ছুতোর ও রাজমিস্ত্রীদেরকে পাঠালেন; তারা দায়ূদের জন্য এক বাড়ি তৈরী করল৷
12 And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
১২তখন দায়ূদ বুঝলেন যে, সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলের রাজপদে তাঁকে প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছেন এবং নিজের প্রজা ইস্রায়েলের জন্য তাঁর রাজ্যের উন্নতি করেছেন৷
13 And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron: and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.
১৩আর দায়ূদ হিব্রোণ থেকে আসার পর যিরূশালেমে আরও উপপত্নী ও স্ত্রী গ্রহণ করলেন, তাতে দায়ূদের আরও ছেলে মেয়ে হল৷
14 And these be the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
১৪যিরূশালেমে তাঁর যে সব ছেলে জন্মাল, তাদের নাম; সম্মূয়, শোবব, নাথন, শলোমন,
15 and Ibhar, and Elishua; and Nepheg, and Japhia;
১৫যিভর, ইলীশূয়, নেফগ, যাফিয়,
16 and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.
১৬ইলীশামা, ইলিয়াদা ও ইলীফেলট৷
17 And when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.
১৭পলেষ্টীয়রা যখন শুনল যে, দায়ূদ ইস্রায়েলের উপরে রাজপদে অভিষিক্ত হয়েছেন, তখন পলেষ্টীয় সব লোক দায়ূদের খোঁজে উঠে এল; দায়ূদ তা শুনে দুর্গে নেমে গেলেন৷
18 Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
১৮আর পলেষ্টীয়েরা এসে রফায়ীম উপত্যকায় ছড়িয়ে পড়ল৷
19 And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
১৯তখন দায়ূদ সদাপ্রভুর কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আমি কি পলেষ্টীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে উঠে যাব? তুমি আমার হাতে তাদেরকে সমর্পণ করবে?” সদাপ্রভু দায়ূদকে বললেন, “যাও, আমি অবশ্যই তোমার হাতে পলেষ্টীয়দেরকে সমর্পণ করব৷”
20 And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, The LORD hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
২০পরে দায়ূদ বাল-পরাসীমে আসলেন ও দায়ূদ তাদেরকে আঘাত করলেন, আর বললেন, “সদাপ্রভু আমার সামনে আমার শত্রুদেরকে সেতু ভাঙার মত করে ভেঙে ফেললেন,” এই জন্য সেই জায়গার নাম বাল-পরাসীম [ভয়ঙ্করী বন্যা কবলিত স্থান] রাখলেন৷
21 And they left their images there, and David and his men took them away.
২১সেই জায়গায় তারা নিজেদের প্রতিমাগুলো ফেলে গিয়েছিল, আর দায়ূদ ও তাঁর লোকেরা সেগুলো তুলে নিয়ে গেলেন৷
22 And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
২২পরে পলেষ্টীয়েরা আবার এসে রফায়ীম উপত্যকায় ছড়িয়ে পড়ল৷
23 And when David inquired of the LORD, he said, Thou shalt not go up: make a circuit behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.
২৩তাতে দায়ূদ সদাপ্রভুর কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, আর তিনি বললেন, “তুমি যেও না, কিন্তু ওদের পিছনে ঘুরে এসে তুঁত গাছের সামনে ওদেরকে আক্রমণ কর৷
24 And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself: for then is the LORD gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.
২৪সেই সব তুঁত গাছের ওপরে সৈন্য যাওয়ার আওয়াজ শুনলে তুমি জেগে উঠবে; কারণ তখনই সদাপ্রভু পলেষ্টীয়দের সৈন্যকে আঘাত করার জন্য তোমার সামনে এগিয়ে গেছেন৷”
25 And David did so, as the LORD commanded him; and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gezer.
২৫দায়ূদ সদাপ্রভুর আদেশ অনুযায়ী কাজ করলেন৷ গেবা থেকে গেষরের কাছ পর্যন্ত পলেষ্টীয়দের আঘাত করলেন৷
