2 Samuel 23
1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse saith, and the man who was raised on high saith, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel:
“ଯିଶୀର ପୁତ୍ର ଦାଉଦ, ଯେ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଉଚ୍ଚୀକୃତ, ଯେ ଯାକୁବର ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଅଭିଷିକ୍ତ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ମଧୁର ଗାୟକ, ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ଶେଷ କଥା ଏହି;
2 The spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was upon my tongue.
ମୋʼ ଦ୍ୱାରା ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆତ୍ମା କହିଲେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ମୋʼ ଜିହ୍ୱାରେ ଥିଲା।
3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, that ruleth in the fear of God,
ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର କହିଲେ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ଶୈଳ ମୋତେ କହିଲେ; ଯେଉଁ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଧର୍ମରେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରିବ, ସେ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ଭୟରେ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କରିବ।
4 [He shall be] as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, a morning without clouds; [when] the tender grass [springeth] out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.
ସେ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟୋଦୟ ସମୟର ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳୀନ ଦୀପ୍ତି ତୁଲ୍ୟ, ମେଘରହିତ ପ୍ରଭାତ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ହେବ; ସେହି ସମୟରେ ବୃଷ୍ଟି ଉତ୍ତାରେ ନିର୍ମଳ କିରଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଭୂମିରୁ କୋମଳ ତୃଣ ଅଙ୍କୁରିତ ହୁଏ।
5 Verily my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he maketh it not to grow.
ସତ୍ୟ, ମୋହର ବଂଶ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସେପରି ନୁହେଁ କି? ସେ ମୋʼ ସହିତ ସର୍ବ ବିଷୟରେ ସୁସମ୍ପନ୍ନ ଓ ସୁରକ୍ଷିତ ଏକ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳୀନ ନିୟମ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି କି? ସେ କି ମୋର ରକ୍ଷା କରିବେ ନାହିଁ?
6 But the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, for they cannot be taken with the hand:
ମାତ୍ର ପାପାଧମ ସମସ୍ତେ ଉତ୍ପାଟନୀୟ କଣ୍ଟକ ସ୍ୱରୂପ, କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ହସ୍ତରେ ଧରା ଯାଇ ନ ପାରନ୍ତି;
7 But the man that toucheth them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in [their] place.
ମାତ୍ର ଯେଉଁ ଲୋକ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରିବ, ଲୌହ ଓ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛାଦଣ୍ଡରେ ତାହାକୁ ସଜ୍ଜିତ ହେବାକୁ ହେବ; ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନରେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ ହେବେ।”
8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.
ଦାଉଦଙ୍କର ବୀରମାନଙ୍କ ନାମାବଳୀ ଏହି; ତଖମୋନୀୟ ଯୋଶେବ୍-ବଶେବତ୍, ସେନାପତିମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଧାନ ଥିଲା; ସେ ଏକକାଳୀନ ଆଠ ଶହ ଲୋକର ହତ୍ୟା କଲା।
9 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
ପୁଣି ତାହା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଅହୋହୀୟ ବଂଶଜ ଦୋଦୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀୟାସର, ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗେ ଥିବା ତିନି ବୀରଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଜଣେ ଥିଲା, ସେମାନେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧାର୍ଥେ ଏକତ୍ରିତ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଧିକ୍କାର କରନ୍ତେ ଓ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନେ ପଳାନ୍ତେ,
10 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
ସେ ଉଠି ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ କ୍ଳାନ୍ତ ଓ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତ ଖଡ୍ଗରେ ଜଡ଼ିତ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲା; ପୁଣି ସେହି ଦିନ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମହା ଜୟ ସାଧନ କଲେ; ଆଉ ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ କେବଳ ଲୁଟିବାକୁ ତାହାର ପଶ୍ଚାତ୍ଗାମୀ ହେଲେ।
11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agce a Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.
ପୁଣି ତାହା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ହରାରୀୟ ଆଗିର ପୁତ୍ର ଶମ୍ମ। ଏକ ସମୟରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ କୌଣସି ମସୁରପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ନିକଟରେ ଏକତ୍ର ଦଳବଦ୍ଧ ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ଲୋକମାନେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗରୁ ପଳାଇଲେ।
12 But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
ମାତ୍ର ଶମ୍ମ ସେହି କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଠିଆ ହୋଇ ତାହା ରକ୍ଷା କଲା ଓ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲା; ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମହା ଜୟ ସାଧନ କଲେ।
13 And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
ଆଉ ତିରିଶ ଜଣ ପ୍ରଧାନ ସୈନ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତିନି ଜଣ ଶସ୍ୟଚ୍ଛେଦନ ସମୟରେ ଅଦୁଲ୍ଲମ ଗୁମ୍ଫାକୁ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଆସିଥିଲେ; ସେତେବେଳେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟ ରଫାୟୀମ ତଳଭୂମିରେ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାପନ କରିଥିଲେ।
14 And David was then in the hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
ସେସମୟରେ ଦାଉଦ ଦୁର୍ଗମ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଥିଲେ ଓ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରହରୀ-ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳ ବେଥଲିହିମରେ ଥିଲେ।
15 And David longed and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem which is by the gate!
ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦାଉଦ ତୃଷାର୍ତ୍ତ ହୋଇ କହିଲେ, “ଆଃ, କେହି ବେଥଲିହିମ-ନଗରଦ୍ୱାର ନିକଟସ୍ଥ କୂପ ଜଳ ପାନ କରିବାକୁ ମୋତେ ଦିଅନ୍ତା କି!”
16 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
ତହିଁରେ ସେହି ତିନି ବୀର ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ସୈନ୍ୟ ମଧ୍ୟଦେଇ ପଶିଯାଇ ବେଥଲିହିମ-ନଗରଦ୍ୱାର ନିକଟସ୍ଥ କୂପରୁ ଜଳ କାଢ଼ି ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ତାହା ଆଣିଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ସେ ତହିଁରୁ ପାନ କରିବାକୁ ସମ୍ମତ ନ ହୋଇ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ତାହା ଢାଳିଦେଲେ।
17 And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: [shall I drink] the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
ପୁଣି ସେ କହିଲେ, “ହେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୋ, ମୁଁ ଯେ ଏ କର୍ମ କରିବି, ଏହା ମୋʼ ଠାରୁ ଦୂର ହେଉ; ପ୍ରାଣପଣରେ ଗମନକାରୀ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ରକ୍ତ କି ମୁଁ ପାନ କରିବି? ଏଣୁ ସେ ତାହା ପାନ କରିବାକୁ ସମ୍ମତ ନୋହିଲେ।” ଏହି ସକଳ କର୍ମ ସେହି ତିନି ବୀର କରିଥିଲେ।
18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.
ସେହି ତିନି ଜଣଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସରୁୟାର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋୟାବର ଭ୍ରାତା ଅବୀଶୟ ପ୍ରଧାନ ଥିଲା। ସେ ତିନି ଶହ ଲୋକ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆପଣା ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା ଉଠାଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କରିଥିଲା, ଏଣୁ ସେ ଏହି ତିନିଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ନାମ ପାଇଲା।
19 Was he not most honourable of the three? therefore he was made their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the [first] three.
ଏହି ତିନିଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସେ କʼଣ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ମର୍ଯ୍ୟାଦାପନ୍ନ ନ ଥିଲା? ଏହେତୁ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସେନାପତି ହେଲା; ତଥାପି ସେ ପ୍ରଥମ ତିନି ଜଣଙ୍କ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ନ ଥିଲା।
20 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he slew the two [sons of] Ariel of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
ଆଉ ପରାକ୍ରାନ୍ତ କର୍ମକାରୀ କବ୍ସେଲୀୟ ଏକ ବିକ୍ରମୀ ପୁରୁଷର ପୌତ୍ର, ଯିହୋୟାଦାର ପୁତ୍ର ଯେ ବନାୟ, ସେ ମୋୟାବୀୟ ଅରୀୟଲର ଦୁଇ ପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ବଧ କଲା; ମଧ୍ୟ ସେ ହିମପାତ ସମୟରେ ଯାଇ ଗର୍ତ୍ତ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏକ ସିଂହକୁ ବଧ କଲା।
21 And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
ଆହୁରି ସେ ଏକ ଜଣ ମିସରୀୟ ବଳବାନ ପୁରୁଷକୁ ବଧ କଲା ଓ ସେହି ମିସରୀୟ ଆପଣା ହସ୍ତରେ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା ଧରିଥିଲା; ତଥାପି ବନାୟ ଏକ ଯଷ୍ଟି ନେଇ ତାହା ନିକଟକୁ ଗଲା ଓ ସେହି ମିସରୀୟ ହସ୍ତରୁ ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା ଛଡ଼ାଇ ତାହାରି ବର୍ଚ୍ଛାରେ ତାହାକୁ ବଧ କଲା।
22 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
ଯିହୋୟାଦାର ପୁତ୍ର ବନାୟ ଏହି ସକଳ କର୍ମ କଲା, ଏଣୁ ସେ ଏହି ତିନି ବୀରଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ନାମ ପାଇଲା।
23 He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the [first] three. And David set him over his guard.
ସେ ତିରିଶ ଜଣ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଅଧିକ ମର୍ଯ୍ୟାଦାପନ୍ନ ଥିଲା, ତଥାପି ସେ ପ୍ରଥମ ତିନି ଜଣଙ୍କ ତୁଲ୍ୟ ନ ଥିଲା; ଆଉ ଦାଉଦ ତାହାକୁ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରହରୀ-ଦଳ ଉପରେ ନିଯୁକ୍ତ କଲେ।
24 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem;
ଯୋୟାବର ଭ୍ରାତା ଅସାହେଲ ଉକ୍ତ ତିରିଶ ଜଣ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଜଣେ ଥିଲା; ବେଥଲିହିମସ୍ଥ ଦୋଦୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲ୍ହାନନ୍;
25 Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite;
ହରୋଦୀୟ ଶମ୍ମ, ହରୋଦୀୟ ଇଲୀକା;
26 Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite;
ପଲ୍ଟୀୟ ହେଲସ୍, ତକୋୟୀୟ ଇକ୍କେଶର ପୁତ୍ର ଈରା;
27 Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite;
ଅନାଥୋତୀୟ ଅବୀୟେଷର, ହୂଶାତୀୟ ମବୁନ୍ନୟ;
28 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite;
ଅହୋହୀୟ ସଲମୋନ୍, ନଟୋଫାତୀୟ ମହରୟ;
29 Heleb the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin;
ନଟୋଫାତୀୟ ବାନାର ପୁତ୍ର ହେଲବ, ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ବଂଶୀୟ ଗିବୀୟା ନିବାସୀ ରୀବୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଇତ୍ତୟ;
30 Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash;
ପିରୀୟାଥୋନୀୟ ବନାୟ, ଗାଶ୍-ନଦୀତୀର ନିବାସୀ ହିଦ୍ଦୟ;
31 Abi-albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite;
ଅର୍ବତୀୟ ଅବିୟେଲ୍ବୋନ, ବରହୂମୀୟ ଅସ୍ମାବତ୍;
32 Eliahba the Shaalbonite, the sons of Jashen, Jonathan;
ଶାଲ୍ବୋନୀୟ ଇଲୀୟହବା, ଯାଶେନ୍ର ପୁତ୍ରଗଣ, ଯୋନାଥନ;
33 Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite;
ହରାରୀୟ ଶମ୍ମ, ହରାରୀୟ ଶାରରର ପୁତ୍ର ଅହୀୟାମ;
34 Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite;
ମାଖାଥୀୟର ପୌତ୍ର ଅହସ୍ବୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀଫେଲଟ୍, ଗୀଲୋନୀୟ ଅହୀଥୋଫଲର ପୁତ୍ର ଇଲୀୟାମ;
35 Hezro the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite;
କର୍ମିଲୀୟ ହିଷ୍ରୟ, ଅର୍ବୀୟ ପାରୟ;
36 Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite;
ସୋବା ନିବାସୀ ନାଥନର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିଗାଲ, ଗାଦୀୟ ବାନି;
37 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearers to Joab the son of Zeruiah;
ଅମ୍ମୋନୀୟ ସେଲକ୍, ସରୁୟାର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋୟାବର ଅସ୍ତ୍ରବାହକ ବେରୋତୀୟ ନହରୟ;
38 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite;
ଯିତ୍ରୀୟ ଈରା, ଯିତ୍ରୀୟ ଗାରେବ୍;
39 Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
ହିତ୍ତୀୟ ଊରୀୟ; ସର୍ବସୁଦ୍ଧା ସଇଁତିରିଶ ଜଣ।
