2 Samuel 23
1 Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse saith, and the man who was raised on high saith, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel:
Dies sind die letzten Worte Davids: Es sprach David, der Sohn Isais; es sprach der Mann, der versichert ist von dem Messias des Gottes Jakobs, lieblich mit Psalmen Israels.
2 The spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was upon my tongue.
Der Geist des HERRN hat durch mich geredet, und seine Rede ist durch meine Zunge geschehen.
3 The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me: One that ruleth over men righteously, that ruleth in the fear of God,
Es hat der Gott Israels zu mir gesprochen; der Hort Israels hat geredet, der gerechte HERRSCher unter den Menschen, der HERRSCher in der Furcht Gottes.
4 [He shall be] as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, a morning without clouds; [when] the tender grass [springeth] out of the earth, through clear shining after rain.
Und wie das Licht des Morgens, wenn die Sonne aufgehet des Morgens ohne Wolken, da vom Glanz nach dem Regen das Gras aus der Erde wächst.
5 Verily my house is not so with God; yet he hath made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things, and sure: for it is all my salvation, and all [my] desire, although he maketh it not to grow.
Denn mein Haus ist nicht also bei Gott; denn er hat mir einen Bund gesetzt, der ewig, und alles wohl geordnet und gehalten wird. Denn all mein Heil und Tun ist, daß nichts wächst.
6 But the ungodly shall be all of them as thorns to be thrust away, for they cannot be taken with the hand:
Aber Belial sind allesamt wie die ausgeworfenen Disteln, die man nicht mit Händen fassen kann;
7 But the man that toucheth them must be armed with iron and the staff of a spear; and they shall be utterly burned with fire in [their] place.
sondern wer sie angreifen soll, muß Eisen und Spießstangen in der Hand haben; und werden mit Feuer verbrannt werden in der Wohnung.
8 These be the names of the mighty men whom David had: Josheb-basshebeth a Tahchemonite, chief of the captains; the same was Adino the Eznite, against eight hundred slain at one time.
Dies sind die Namen der Helden Davids: Jasabeam, der Sohn Hachmonis, der Vornehmste unter dreien; er hub seinen Spieß auf und schlug achthundert auf einmal.
9 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodai the son of an Ahohite, one of the three mighty men with David, when they defied the Philistines that were there gathered together to battle, and the men of Israel were gone away:
Nach ihm war Eleasar, der Sohn Dodos, des Sohns Ahohis, unter den dreien Helden mit David. Da sie Hohn sprachen den Philistern und daselbst versammelt waren zum Streit, und die Männer Israels hinaufzogen,
10 He arose, and smote the Philistines until his hand was weary, and his hand clave unto the sword: and the LORD wrought a great victory that day; and the people returned after him only to spoil.
da stund er und schlug die Philister, bis daß seine Hand müde am Schwert erstarrete. Und der HERR gab ein groß Heil zu der Zeit, daß das Volk umwandte ihm nach, zu rauben.
11 And after him was Shammah the son of Agce a Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a plot of ground full of lentils; and the people fled from the Philistines.
Nach ihm war Samma, der Sohn Agas, des Harariters. Da die Philister sich versammelten in eine Rotte, und war daselbst ein Stück Ackers voll Linsen, und das Volk floh vor den Philistern,
12 But he stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the LORD wrought a great victory.
da trat er mitten auf das Stück und errettete es und schlug die Philister; und Gott gab ein groß Heil.
13 And three of the thirty chief went down, and came to David in the harvest time unto the cave of Adullam; and the troop of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
Und diese drei Vornehmsten unter dreißigen kamen hinab in der Ernte zu David in der Höhle Adullam, und die Rotte der Philister lag im Grunde Rephaim.
14 And David was then in the hold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
David aber war dazumal in der Burg; aber der Philister Volk lag zu Bethlehem.
15 And David longed and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem which is by the gate!
Und David ward lüstern und sprach: Wer will mir zu trinken holen des Wassers aus dem Brunnen zu Bethlehem unter dem Tor?
16 And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
Da rissen die drei Helden ins Lager der Philister und schöpfeten des Wassers aus dem Brunnen zu Bethlehem unter dem Tor; und trugen's und brachten's David. Aber er wollte es nicht trinken, sondern goß es dem HERRN
17 And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: [shall I drink] the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
und sprach: Das lasse der HERR ferne von mir sein, daß ich das tue! Ist's nicht das Blut der Männer, die ihr Leben gewagt haben und dahingegangen sind? Und wollte es nicht trinken. Das taten die drei Helden.
18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was chief of the three. And he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.
Abisai, Joabs Bruder, der Sohn Zerujas, war auch ein Vornehmster unter dreien. Er hub seinen Spieß auf und schlug dreihundert; und war auch berühmt unter dreien
19 Was he not most honourable of the three? therefore he was made their captain: howbeit he attained not unto the [first] three.
und der HERRLIchste unter dreien und war ihr Oberster; aber er kam nicht bis an die drei.
20 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he slew the two [sons of] Ariel of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow:
Und Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, des Sohns Ishails, von großen Taten, von Kabzeel. Der schlug zween Löwen der Moabiter; und ging hinab und schlug einen Löwen im Brunnen zur Schneezeit.
21 And he slew an Egyptian, a goodly man: and the Egyptian had a spear in his hand; but he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and slew him with his own spear.
Und schlug auch einen ägyptischen greulichen Mann, der hatte einen Spieß in seiner Hand. Er aber ging zu ihm hinab mit einem Stecken und riß dem Ägypter den Spieß aus der Hand und erwürgete ihn mit seinem eigenen Spieß.
22 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
Das tat Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas; und war berühmt unter den dreien Helden
23 He was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the [first] three. And David set him over his guard.
und herrlicher denn die dreißig; aber er kam nicht bis an die drei. Und David machte ihn zum heimlichen Rat.
24 Asahel the brother of Joab was one of the thirty; Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem;
Asahel, der Bruder Joabs, ist unter den dreißigen. Elhanan, der Sohn Dodos, zu Bethlehem.
25 Shammah the Harodite, Elika the Harodite;
Samma, der Haraditer. Elika, der Haraditer.
26 Helez the Paltite, Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite;
Helez, der Paltiter. Ira, der Sohn Ikes, des Thekoiters.
27 Abiezer the Anathothite, Mebunnai the Hushathite;
Abieser, der Anthothiter. Mebunai, der Husathiter.
28 Zalmon the Ahohite, Maharai the Netophathite;
Zalmon, der Ahohiter. Maherai, der Netophathiter.
29 Heleb the son of Baanah the Netophathite, Ittai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin;
Heleb, der Sohn Baenas, der Netophathiter. Ithai, der Sohn Ribais, von Gibea der Kinder Benjamin.
30 Benaiah a Pirathonite, Hiddai of the brooks of Gaash;
Benaja, der Pirgathoniter. Hidai, von den Bächen Gaas.
31 Abi-albon the Arbathite, Azmaveth the Barhumite;
Abialbon, der Arbathiter. Asmaveth, der Barhumiter.
32 Eliahba the Shaalbonite, the sons of Jashen, Jonathan;
Eljaheba, der Saalboniter. Die Kinder Jasen und Jonathan.
33 Shammah the Hararite, Ahiam the son of Sharar the Ararite;
Samma, der Harariter. Ahiam, der Sohn Sarars, der Harariter.
34 Eliphelet the son of Ahasbai, the son of the Maacathite, Eliam the son of Ahithophel the Gilonite;
Eliphelet, der Sohn Ahasbais, des Sohns Maechathis. Eliam, der Sohn Ahitophels, des Giloniters.
35 Hezro the Carmelite, Paarai the Arbite;
Hezrai, der Karmeliter Paerai, der Arbiter.
36 Igal the son of Nathan of Zobah, Bani the Gadite;
Jegeal, der Sohn Nathans von Zoba. Bani, der Gaditer.
37 Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Beerothite, armourbearers to Joab the son of Zeruiah;
Zelek, der Ammoniter. Naharai, der Beerothiter, der Waffenträger Joabs, des Sohns Zerujas.
38 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite;
Ira, der Jethriter. Gareb, der Jethriter.
39 Uriah the Hittite: thirty and seven in all.
Uria, der Hethiter. Derer ist allesamt siebenunddreißig.
