2 Chronicles 7
1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
E quando Salomão acabou de orar, o fogo desceu dos céus, e consumiu o holocausto e as vítimas; e a glória do SENHOR encheu a casa.
2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORD’S house.
E não podiam entrar os sacerdotes na casa do SENHOR, porque a glória do SENHOR havia enchido a casa do SENHOR.
3 And all the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD was upon the house; and they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and gave thanks unto the LORD, [saying], For he is good; for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
E quando viram todos os filhos de Israel descer o fogo e a glória do SENHOR sobre a casa, caíram em terra sobre seus rostos no pavimento, e adoraram, confessando ao SENHOR e dizendo: Que é bom, que sua misericórdia é para sempre.
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before the LORD.
Então o rei e todo o povo sacrificaram vítimas diante do SENHOR.
5 And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.
E ofereceu o rei Salomão em sacrifício vinte e dois mil bois, e cento e vinte mil ovelhas; e assim dedicaram a casa de Deus o rei e todo o povo.
6 And the priests stood, according to their offices; the Levites also with instruments of music of the LORD, which David the king had made to give thanks unto the LORD, for his mercy [endureth] for ever, when David praised by their ministry: and the priests sounded trumpets before them; and all Israel stood.
E os sacerdotes assistiam em seu ministério; e os levitas com os instrumentos de música do SENHOR, os quais havia feito o rei Davi para confessar ao SENHOR, que sua misericórdia é para sempre; quando Davi louvava por mão deles. Assim os sacerdotes tinham trombetas diante deles, e todo Israel estava em pé.
7 Moreover Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD; for there he offered the burnt offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offering, and the meal offering, and the fat.
Salomão também santificou o meio do átrio que estava diante da casa do SENHOR, porquanto havia oferecido ali os holocaustos, e a gordura dos sacrifícios pacíficos; porque no altar de bronze que Salomão havia feito, não podiam caber os holocaustos, e a oferta de alimentos, e as gorduras.
8 So Solomon held the feast at that time seven days, and all Israel with him, a very great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the brook of Egypt.
Então fez Salomão festa durante sete dias, e com ele todo Israel, uma grande congregação, desde a entrada de Hamate até o ribeiro do Egito.
9 And on the eighth day they held a solemn assembly: for they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.
Ao oitavo dia fizeram convocação, porque haviam feito a dedicação do altar em sete dias, e haviam celebrado a solenidade por sete dias.
10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh mouth he sent the people away unto their tents, joyful and glad of heart for the goodness that the LORD had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
E aos vinte e três do mês sétimo enviou ao povo a suas moradas, alegres e jubilosos de coração pelos benefícios que o SENHOR havia feito a Davi, e a Salomão, e a seu povo Israel.
11 Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD, and the king’s house: and all that came into Solomon’s heart to make in the house of the LORD, and in his own house, he prosperously effected.
Acabou pois Salomão a casa do SENHOR, e a casa do rei: e todo o que Salomão teve em vontade de fazer na casa do SENHOR e em sua casa, foi próspero.
12 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.
E apareceu o SENHOR a Salomão de noite, e disse-lhe: Eu ei ouvido tua oração, e escolhi para mim este lugar por casa de sacrifício.
13 If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;
Se eu fechar os céus, que não haja chuva, e se mandar à locusta que consuma a terra, ou se enviar pestilência a meu povo;
14 if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Se se humilhar meu povo, sobre os quais nem nome é invocado, e orarem, e buscarem meu rosto, e se converterem de seus maus caminhos; então eu ouvirei desde os céus, e perdoarei seus pecados, e sararei sua terra.
15 Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent, unto the prayer that is made in this place.
Agora estarão abertos meus olhos, e atentos meus ouvidos, à oração em este lugar:
16 For now have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
Pois que agora escolhi e santifiquei esta casa, para que esteja nela meu nome para sempre; e meus olhos e meu coração estarão aí para sempre.
17 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments;
E tu, se andares diante de mim, como andou Davi teu pai, e fizeres todas as coisas que eu te ei mandado, e guardares meus estatutos e meus direitos,
18 then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
Eu confirmarei o trono de teu reino, como estabeleci com Davi teu pai, dizendo: Não faltará homem de ti que domine em Israel.
19 But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them:
Mas se vós vos desviardes, e deixardes meus estatutos e meus preceitos que vos propus, e fordes e servirdes a deuses alheios, e os adorardes,
20 then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
Eu os arrancarei de minha terra que lhes dei; e esta casa que ei santifiquei a meu nome, eu a lançarei de diante de mim, e a porei por provérbio e fábula em todos os povos.
21 And this house, which is so high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?
E esta casa que haverá sido ilustre, será espanto a todo o que passar, e dirá: Por que há feito assim o SENHOR a esta terra e a esta casa?
22 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.
E se responderá: Por quanto deixaram ao SENHOR Deus de seus pais, o qual os tirou da terra do Egito, e abraçaram deuses alheios, e os adoraram e serviram: por isso ele trouxe todo este mal sobre eles.
