< 2 Chronicles 32 >
1 After these things, and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.
Mgbe Hezekaya ji ikwesi ntụkwasị obi rụchaa ọrụ ndị a niile, Senakerib bụ eze Asịrịa, bịara nʼime Juda megide ya.
2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,
Mgbe o doro eze anya na Senakerib bịara ka o buo agha megide Jerusalem,
3 he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city; and they helped him.
4 So there was gathered much people together, and they stopped all the fountains, and the brook that flowed through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come and find much water?
5 And he took courage, and built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised it up to the towers, and the other wall without, and strengthened Millo [in] the city of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance.
Hezekaya wuzikwara mgbidi obodo ahụ, wusie ha ike nʼebe niile ọ na-ada ada. O wukwara mgbidi ọzọ gburugburu mgbidi nke ochie ahụ. O wusikwara ebe siri ike nke Milo dị nʼobodo Devid ike, kpụọkwa ọtụtụ ngwa agha na ọta.
6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the broad place at the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,
O tinyere ndị agha niile nọ nʼobodo ahụ nʼokpuru ndịisi agha na-achị ha, mee ka ha niile zukọta nʼọnụ ụzọ ama nke obodo. Nʼebe ahụ ka ọ nọ gwa ha okwu sị ha,
7 Be strong and of a good courage, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there is a greater with us than with him:
“Dịrịnụ ike, unu adakwala mba. Unu atụla ụjọ maọbụ daa mba nʼihi eze Asịrịa na usuu ndị agha ya, nʼihi na onye dịnyeere anyị ka ya ike.
8 with him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
Ihe nọnyere ya bụ ogwe aka nke anụ ahụ, ma nke nọnyere anyị bụ Onyenwe anyị, Chineke anyị, inyere anyị aka na ibu agha anyị niile.” Okwu a, nke Hezekaya bụ eze Juda kwuru, mere ka ndị Juda nwee agbamume.
9 After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (now he was before Lachish, and all his power with him, ) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,
Mgbe e mesiri, mgbe Senakerib eze Asịrịa na ndị agha ya niile nọchibidoro Lakish, o zipụrụ ndị ọrụ ya gaa Jerusalem, ka ha jiri ozi a gaa maka Hezekaya, bụ eze Juda na ndị Juda niile ndị nọ nʼebe ahụ:
10 Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide the siege in Jerusalem?
“Nke a bụ ihe Senakerib, bụ eze Asịrịa sịrị: Ọ bụ na gịnị ka ntụkwasị obi gị dabere, mere i ji nọgidesie ike na Jerusalem nʼọnọdụ nnọchibido a?
11 Doth not Hezekiah persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
Mgbe Hezekaya na-asị, ‘Onyenwe anyị bụ Chineke anyị ga-azọpụta anyị site nʼaka eze Asịrịa,’ ọ bụ aghụghọ ka ọ na-aghọ unu. Ọ na-eduhie unu, na-achọ ka unu nwụọ nʼagụụ nakwa akpịrị ịkpọ nkụ.
12 Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and upon it shall ye burn incense?
13 Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands any ways able to deliver their land out of mine hand?
“Unu amaghị ihe mụ na nna m ha bụ ndị bu m ụzọ chịa mere ndị ala ọzọ? Chi niile nke mba ndị ahụ niile ha nwere ike zọpụta ala ha site nʼaka m?
14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of mine hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of mine hand?
Ọ bụ onye nʼetiti chi niile nke mba ndị a niile, bụ ndị nna nna m ha bibiri, napụtarala ndị ya site nʼaka m? Aṅaa ka chi unu ga-esi zọpụta unu site nʼaka m?
15 Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you on this manner, neither believe ye him: for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of mine hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of mine hand?
Unu ekwela ka Hezekaya duhie unu, rafuokwa unu otu a. Unu ekwenyekwarala ya, nʼihi na ọ dịghị chi ọbụla maọbụ nke mba ọbụla maọbụ alaeze ọbụla pụrụ ịnapụta ndị ya site nʼaka m maọbụ nʼaka nna m ha. Ka ọ bụrụzie chi unu ga-abụ nke ga-anapụta unu site nʼaka m!”
16 And his servants spake yet more against the LORD God, and against his servant Hezekiah.
Nʼụzọ dị otu a ka ndị ozi Senakerib ahụ ji leda Onyenwe anyị Chineke, na Hezekaya anya kwuokwa okwu mkparị megide ha.
17 He wrote also letters, to rail on the LORD, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of the lands which have not delivered their people out of mine hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of mine hand.
Emesịa, Senakerib dekwara akwụkwọ mkparị ndị ọzọ, nke ọ nọ nʼime ya kwuluo Onyenwe anyị Chineke Izrel, na-asị, “Dịka chi ndị ala ọzọ niile enweghị ike zọpụta ndị ha site nʼaka m, otu a kwa, Chineke nke Hezekaya apụghịkwa ịzọpụta ndị ya site nʼaka m.”
18 And they cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.
Mgbe ahụ, ha ji oke olu kpọkuo ndị Jerusalem, bụ ndị nọ na mgbidi ahụ nʼasụsụ Hibru, imenye ha egwu nakwa ime ka ụjọ tụọ ha, ka ha nwee ike were obodo ahụ.
19 And they spake of the God of Jerusalem, as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men’s hands.
Ha kwuru okwu ọjọọ dị iche iche banyere Chineke nke Jerusalem, dịka ha si kwuo megide chi niile nke ndị ọzọ dị nʼụwa, bụ ọrụ aka mmadụ.
20 And Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.
Mgbe ahụ, Hezekaya bụ eze, na Aịzaya onye amụma, nwa Emọz, kpọkuru Chineke nke eluigwe nʼekpere.
21 And the LORD sent an angel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.
Onyenwe anyị zipụrụ otu mmụọ ozi, onye gara tigbuo ndị agha niile bụ dike, ndị ọchịagha na ndịisi niile nọ nʼọmụma ụlọ ikwu nke eze Asịrịa. Ya mere, Senakerib ji oke ihere laghachi nʼala ya. Ma mgbe ọ gara nʼụlọ chi ya, ụfọdụ nʼime ụmụ ya ndị ikom, ndị bụ anụ ahụ na ọbara ya, were mma agha gbuo ya nʼebe ahụ.
22 Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all [other], and guided them on every side.
23 And many brought gifts unto the LORD to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah: so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.
Site nʼoge ahụ, Hezekaya ghọrọ eze a maara aha ya na mba niile dị Juda gburugburu. Ọtụtụ mmadụ bidokwara ibutere Onyenwe anyị onyinye dị iche iche na Jerusalem. Hezekaya nʼonwe ya nwetakwara onyinye nke ya.
24 In those days Hezekiah was sick even unto death: and he prayed unto the LORD; and he spake unto him, and gave him a sign.
25 But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.
26 Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.
Mgbe Hezekaya na ndị Jerusalem wedara onwe ha nʼala, iwe Onyenwe anyị dajụrụ nʼebe ha nọ, ọ takwaghị ha ahụhụ nʼoge niile ahụ Hezekaya dị ndụ.
27 And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honour: and he provided him treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of goodly vessels;
Ya mere, Hezekaya ghọrọ eze bara ọgaranya, bụrụkwa onye a na-asọpụrụ.

29 Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance: for God had given him very much substance.
O wukwara ọtụtụ obodo nta dị iche iche, nweekwa ọtụtụ igwe anụ ụlọ, na igwe ehi, nʼihi na Chineke mere ka ọ baa ụba.
30 This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper spring of the waters of Gihon, and brought them straight down on the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works.
Hezekaya bụkwa onye gbochiri mmiri iyi Gaihọn nʼakụkụ elu elu ya, gwuo olulu ebe mmiri ahụ si sọgharịa na-asọbata nʼakụkụ ọdịda anyanwụ nke obodo Devid. Ihe niile o mere gaara ya nke ọma.
31 Howbeit in [the business of] the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.
Ma mgbe ndị ozi nke ndị na-achị Babilọn zitere ka ha jụọ ya banyere ihe ebube ahụ nke mere nʼala ahụ, Chineke hapụrụ ya i nwalee ya, ka ọ mara ihe niile dị ya nʼobi.
32 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his good deeds, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
Ma banyere ihe ndị ọzọ niile mere nʼoge ọchịchị Hezekaya, na ọrụ ebere niile nke ọ rụrụ ka edere nʼakwụkwọ ọhụ onye amụma bụ Aịzaya, nwa Emọz, dịkwa nʼakwụkwọ akụkọ ndị eze Juda na Izrel niile.
33 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the ascent of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
