1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.

这封信来自保罗、西拉和提摩太，写给帖撒罗尼迦属于父上帝和主耶稣基督里的教会。愿恩典平安与你们同在。

2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention [of you] in our prayers;

我们始终因你们众人而感谢上帝，祷告的时候从未遗忘你们，

3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labour of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;

在我们的父上帝面前，我们记得如何在工作中，投入了你们对上帝的信，如何以爱辛勤工作、如何心怀希望耐心等待我们的主耶稣基督。

4 knowing, brethren beloved of God, your election,

兄弟姐妹们，我们已经知道上帝爱你们，你们对他而言很特别。

5 how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and [in] much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we shewed ourselves toward you for your sake.

我们传递给你们的福音，不只是言语，其中也有力量，因为圣灵彻底说服了你们。通过同样的方式，你们知道了我们是什么样的人，因为我们向你们显示出，我们是为你们而工作。

6 And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost;

当你们接收到这讯息，你们就效法我们，效法主。因为尽管经历苦难，你们仍然体会到圣灵带来的欢喜。

7 so that ye became an ensample to all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.

因此，你们已经成为马其顿和希腊所有信徒的榜样！

8 For from you hath sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith to God-ward is gone forth; so that we need not to speak anything.

你们已经宣讲了上帝的信息，不止在马其顿和希腊，还包括听闻你们信上帝的所有人，所以我们不用再对任何人说什么。

9 For they themselves report concerning us what manner of entering in we had unto you; and how ye turned unto God from idols, to serve a living and true God,

事实上，他们说起了你们如何热情地接待我们；如何摒弃神像、归向上帝；如何在侍奉这活着的真正上帝时，

10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivereth us from the wrath to come.

等候其儿子从天降临——这就是耶稣，上帝使他从死人中复活，在即将到来的审判中拯救我们。
