1 Thessalonians 1

1 Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace to you and peace.

௧பவுலும், சில்வானும், தீமோத்தேயும், பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்குள்ளும் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவிற்குள்ளும் இருக்கிற தெசலோனிக்கேயர் சபைக்கு எழுதுகிறதாவது: நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய தேவனாலும் கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவினாலும் உங்களுக்குக் கிருபையும் சமாதானமும் உண்டாவதாக.

2 We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention [of you] in our prayers;

௨தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான சகோதரர்களே, உங்களுடைய விசுவாசத்தின் செயல்களையும், உங்களுடைய அன்பின் பிரயாசத்தையும், நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின்மேலுள்ள உங்களுடைய நம்பிக்கையின் பொறுமையையும், நம்முடைய பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்குமுன்பாக நாங்கள் இடைவிடாமல் நினைவுகூர்ந்து,

3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith and labour of love and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;

௩நீங்கள் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களென்று நாங்கள் அறிந்து,

4 knowing, brethren beloved of God, your election,

௪எங்களுடைய ஜெபங்களில் இடைவிடாமல் உங்களைக்குறித்து வேண்டுதல்செய்து, உங்களெல்லோருக்காகவும் எப்பொழுதும் தேவனுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறோம்.

5 how that our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and [in] much assurance; even as ye know what manner of men we shewed ourselves toward you for your sake.

௫எங்களுடைய நற்செய்தி உங்களிடம் வசனத்தோடுமாத்திரமல்ல, வல்லமையோடும், பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரோடும், முழு நிச்சயத்தோடும் வந்தது; நாங்களும் உங்களுக்குள்ளே இருந்தபோது உங்களுக்காக எப்படிப்பட்டவர்களாக இருந்தோமென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்களே.

6 And ye became imitators of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost;

௬நீங்கள் மிகுந்த உபத்திரவத்திலே, பரிசுத்த ஆவியானவரின் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு, திருவசனத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, எங்களையும் கர்த்த்தரையும் பின்பற்றுகிறவர்களாகி,

7 so that ye became an ensample to all that believe in Macedonia and in Achaia.

௭இவ்விதமாக மக்கெதோனியாவிலும் அகாயாவிலுமுள்ள விசுவாசிகள் அனைவருக்கும் மாதிரிகளானீர்கள்.

8 For from you hath sounded forth the word of the Lord, not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place your faith to God-ward is gone forth; so that we need not to speak anything.

௮எப்படியென்றால், உங்களிடமிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் மக்கெதோனியாவிலும் அகாயாவிலும் பரவியதுமல்லாமல், நாங்கள் அதைக்குறித்து ஒன்றும் சொல்லவேண்டியதாக இல்லாதபடிக்கு, தேவனைப்பற்றின உங்களுடைய விசுவாசம் எல்லா இடங்களிலும் பிரசித்தமானது.

9 For they themselves report concerning us what manner of entering in we had unto you; and how ye turned unto God from idols, to serve a living and true God,

௯ஏனென்றால், அவர்கள்தாமே எங்களைக்குறித்து, உங்களிடம் எங்களுக்குக் கிடைத்த வரவேற்பு இன்னதென்பதையும், ஜீவனுள்ள மெய்யான தேவனுக்கு ஊழியம் செய்வதற்கு, நீங்கள் சிலை வழிபாடுகளைவிட்டு தேவனிடத்திற்கு மனந்திரும்பினதையும்,

10 and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, [even] Jesus, which delivereth us from the wrath to come.

௧0அவர் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து உயிரோடு எழுந்தவரும், இனிவரும் கோபத்திலிருந்து நம்மை விடுவித்து இரட்சிக்கிறவருமாக இருக்கிற அவருடைய குமாரனாகிய இயேசு பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வருவதை நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதையும் அறிவிக்கிறார்களே.
