1 Samuel 20
1 And David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine iniquity? and what is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
೧ದಾವೀದನು ರಾಮದ ನಯೋತಿನಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೋನಾತಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲ, ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದೆನು? ನನ್ನ ಅಪರಾಧವೇನು? ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ದ್ರೋಹವು ಯಾವುದು?” ಎನ್ನಲು,
2 And he said unto him, God forbid; thou shalt not die: behold, my father doeth nothing either great or small, but that he discloseth it unto me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so.
೨ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇದು ಆಗಲೇಬಾರದು, ನಿನಗೆ ಮರಣವಾಗಕೂಡದು. ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಅಲ್ಪಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಮಹಾಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದೇ ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಗೆ ಮರೆಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
3 And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father knoweth well that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.
೩ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಮುಂದೆ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕುತ್ತದೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಬಲ್ಲನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇದನ್ನು ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದುಃಖವಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ಮರೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಣೆ, ನನಗೂ ಮರಣಕ್ಕೂ ಒಂದು ಗೇಣು ಅಂತರವಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
4 Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee.
೪ಆಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಹೇಳು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಅಂದನು.
5 And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.
೫ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನು, “ನಾಳೆ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆ. ನಾನು ಅರಸನ ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಊಟಮಾಡಬೇಕಾಗಿರುವುದು. ನೀನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ನಾನು ಈಗಲೇ ಹೋಗಿ ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನ ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದವರೆಗೆ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆನು.
6 If thy father miss me at all, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Beth-lehem his city: for it is the yearly sacrifice there for all the family.
೬ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ವಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನೀನು, ‘ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಊರಾದ ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವನ ಗೋತ್ರದವರು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಯಜ್ಞಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳು.
7 If he say thus, It is well; thy servant shall have peace: but if he be wroth, then know that evil is determined by him.
೭ಅವನು ಆಗಲಿ ಅಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನಾನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಿರುವೆನು. ಸಿಟ್ಟುಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಅವನಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಕೇಡು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ, ಸೇವಕನ ಮೇಲೆ ದಯೆಯಿರಲಿ.
8 Therefore deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: but if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
೮ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಾ, ನಾನು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದೇಕೆ? ನೀನೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
9 And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I should at all know that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee?
೯ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇದು ಆಗಲೇ ಬಾರದು, ನಿನಗೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಡು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸದಿರುತ್ತೇನೆಯೇ?” ಅಂದನು.
10 Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me if perchance thy father answer thee roughly?
೧೦ದಾವೀದನು, “ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಬಿರುನುಡಿಯಿಂದ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಯಾರ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸುವಿ?” ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು
11 And Jonathan said unto David, Come and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.
೧೧ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗೋಣ ಬಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
12 And Jonathan said unto David, The LORD, the God of Israel, [be witness]; when I have sounded my father about this time tomorrow, [or] the third day, behold, if there be good toward David, shall I not then send unto thee, and disclose it unto thee?
೧೨ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ, ನಾನು ನಾಳೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ನಾಡಿದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೊಡನೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನಿಗೆ ದಯೆ ಉಂಟೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದರೆ ಕೂಡಲೆ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸುವೆನು.
13 The LORD do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do thee evil, if I disclose it not unto thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
೧೩ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನಿನಗೆ ಕೇಡುಮಾಡುವ ಮನಸ್ಸುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿ, ನೀನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು. ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡದಿದ್ದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಲಿ, ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡಲೂ ಇರಲಿ.
14 And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the LORD, that I die not:
೧೪ನೀನು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ನೆನಸಿ ನನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ನನಗೆ ಕೃಪೆತೋರಿಸು.
15 but also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.
೧೫ನಾನು ಸತ್ತನಂತರ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾದ ನಿನ್ನ ದಯೆಯಿರಲಿ. ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದು ಹಾಕಿದರೂ ಅದು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಿಂದ ಅಗಲದಿರಲಿ.
16 So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, [saying], And the LORD shall require it at the hand of David’s enemies.
೧೬ಅಗಲಿದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವರ ಮನೆಯವರೊಡನೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು,
17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again, for the love that he had to him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
೧೭ತಾನು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಂತ ಪ್ರಾಣದಂತೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು.
18 Then Jonathan said unto him, Tomorrow is the new moon: and thou shalt be missed, because thy seat will be empty.
೧೮ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನಾಳೆ ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಬರಿದಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಅರಸನು ಕಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವನು.
19 And when thou hast stayed three days, thou shalt go down quickly, and come to the place where thou didst hide thyself when the business was in hand, and shalt remain by the stone Ezel.
೧೯ನೀನು ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಗ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಕಲ್ಲುಕುಪ್ಪೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿರು.
20 And I will shoot three arrows on the side thereof, as though I shot at a mark.
೨೦ನಾನು ಗುರಿಯಿಟ್ಟವನೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಅದರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಮೂರು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು
21 And, behold, I will send the lad, [saying], Go, find the arrows. If I say unto the lad, Behold, the arrows are on this side of thee: take them, and come; for there is peace to thee and no hurt, as the LORD liveth.
೨೧ತರುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಆಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು. ನಾನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಬಾಣಗಳು ಈಚೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುತ್ತವೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನೀನು ಬಾ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಣೆ ಯಾವ ಕೇಡು ಸಂಭವಿಸದೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಿರುವಿ.
22 But if I say thus unto the boy, Behold, the arrows are beyond thee: go thy way; for the LORD hath sent thee away.
೨೨ಆದರೆ, ‘ಬಾಣಗಳು ಆಚೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುತ್ತವೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗು, ನೀನು ಹೋಗುವುದೇ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಚಿತ್ತವಾಗಿದೆ.
23 And as touching the matter which thou and I have spoken of, behold, the LORD is between thee and me for ever.
೨೩ನಮ್ಮಿಬ್ಬರ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ನಿತ್ಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರುವನು” ಅಂದನು.
24 So David hid himself in the field: and when the new moon was come, the king sat him down to eat meat.
೨೪ದಾವೀದನು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡನು.
25 And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon the seat by the wall; and Jonathan stood up, and Abner sat by Saul’s side: but David’s place was empty.
೨೫ಅರಸನು ಅಮಾವಾಸ್ಯೆ ದಿನ, ಪದ್ದತಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಗೋಡೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತನ್ನ ಆಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಭೋಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು. ಅರಸನ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಯೋನಾತಾನನೂ, ಅರಸನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬ್ನೇರನೂ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡನು. ಸೌಲನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಬರಿದಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರೂ,
26 Nevertheless Saul spake not any thing that day: for he thought, Something hath befallen him, he is not clean; surely he is not clean.
೨೬ಆ ದಿನ ಅವನ ವಿಷಯ ಏನೂ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಏನಾದರೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿರಬೇಕು. ಅವನು ಹೊಲೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾನು, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಇನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇರಬಹುದು ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
27 And it came to pass on the morrow after the new moon, [which was] the second [day], that David’s place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor today?
೨೭ಮರುದಿನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅಂದರೆ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಎರಡನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಬರಿದಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನು, “ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ನಿನ್ನೆಯೂ, ಈ ಹೊತ್ತೂ ಭೋಜನಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ?” ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
28 And Jonathan answered Saul, David earnestly asked leave of me to go to Beth-lehem:
೨೮ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು, “ದಾವೀದನು ‘ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಗೋತ್ರದವರು ಯಜ್ಞಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ
29 and he said, Let me go, I pray thee; for our family hath a sacrifice in the city; and my brother, he hath commanded me [to be there]: and now, if I have found favour in thine eyes, let me get away, I pray thee, and see my brethren. Therefore he is not come unto the king’s table.
೨೯ನನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣನು ಅದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರೆದಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನನಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡು ನಾನು ಹೋಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಅಣ್ಣಂದಿರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಬರುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅರಸನ ಪಂಕ್ತಿಗೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
30 Then Saul’s anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said unto him, Thou son of a perverse rebellious woman, do not I know that thou hast chosen the son of Jesse to thine own shame, and unto the shame of thy mother’s nakedness?
೩೦ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ, “ಎಲೈ ದುಷ್ಟ ದಾಸಿಯ ಮಗನೇ, ನೀನು ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನೊಡನೆ ಸ್ನೇಹದಿಂದಿರುವುದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೂ, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತವಳಿಗೂ ಮಾನಭಂಗವಾಗುವುದು.
31 For as long as the son of Jesse liveth upon the ground, thou shalt not be stablished, nor thy kingdom. Wherefore now send and fetch him unto me, for he shall surely die.
೩೧ಆ ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಗೆ ನಿನಗಾದರೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ನೆಲೆಯಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕರಿಸಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ. ಅವನು ಸಾಯಬೇಕು” ಅಂದನು.
32 And Jonathan answered Saul his father, and said unto him, Wherefore should he be put to death? what hath he done?
೩೨ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು, “ಅವನು ಯಾಕೆ ಸಾಯಬೇಕು? ಅವನು ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದನು?” ಎಂದು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
33 And Saul cast his spear at him to smite him: whereby Jonathan knew that it was determined of his father to put David to death.
೩೩ಕೂಡಲೆ ಸೌಲನು ಅವನನ್ನು ತಿವಿಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಈಟಿಯನ್ನೆಸೆದನು. ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬುದು ಯೋನಾತಾನಾನಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗಲು
34 So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame.
೩೪ಅವನು ಬಲು ಸಿಟ್ಟುಗೊಂಡು ಪಂಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದೆದ್ದು ಹೋದನು. ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಅಪಮಾನಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ದುಃಖವುಂಟಾಗಿ ಅವನು ಆ ದಿನ ಊಟಮಾಡಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
35 And it came to pass in the morning, that Jonathan went out into the field at the time appointed with David, and a little lad with him.
೩೫ಅವನು ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಹುಡುಗನನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೊಲಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ,
36 And he said unto his lad, Run, find now the arrows which I shoot. And as the lad ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.
೩೬ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ, “ಬೇಗ ಹೋಗಿ ನಾನು ಎಸೆದ ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆ ಹುಡುಗನು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಬಾಣವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಆಚೆಗೆ ಎಸೆದನು.
37 And when the lad was come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried after the lad, and said, Is not the arrow beyond thee?
೩೭ಹುಡುಗನು ಬಾಣ ಬಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಬಾಣವು ನಿನ್ನ ಆಚೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿತಲ್ಲಾ
38 And Jonathan cried after the lad, Make speed, haste, stay not. And Jonathan’s lad gathered up the arrows, and came to his master.
೩೮ಬೇಗ ಹೋಗು ನಿಲ್ಲಬೇಡ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಹುಡುಗನು ಬಾಣಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಯಜಮಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
39 But the lad knew not any thing: only Jonathan and David knew the matter.
೩೯ಇದರ ರಹಸ್ಯವು ಯೋನಾತಾನ ದಾವೀದರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿತ್ತೇ ಹೊರತು ಆ ಹುಡುಗನಿಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
40 And Jonathan gave his weapons unto his lad, and said unto him, Go, carry them to the city.
೪೦ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಡುಗನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಊರಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
41 And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of [a place] toward the South, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded.
೪೧ಹುಡುಗನು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಲೇ ದಾವೀದನು ಕಲ್ಲುಕುಪ್ಪೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಎದ್ದುಬಂದು ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗವಾಗಿ ಯೋನಾತಾನನನ್ನು ವಂದಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಅತ್ತರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಅತ್ತನು.
42 And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD shall be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed, for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.
೪೨ಅನಂತರ ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹೋಗು. ನಾವು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವಲ್ಲಾ. ಆತನೇ ನನಗೂ ನಿನಗೂ, ನನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಸದಾ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು. ಯೋನಾತಾನನು ಊರೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
