Goliati atelemaki mpe agangelaki mampinga ya Isalaele, alobaki: « Mpo na nini bobimi mpe bosali milongo mpo na bitumba? Ngai nazali moto ya Filisitia te? Mpe bino bozali basali ya Saulo te? Bopona moto moko mpe botika ye koya kobundisa ngai.
9 If he be able to fight with me, and kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.

Kasi tango bato nyonso ya Isalaele bamonaki mobali yango, bakimaki liboso na ye na kobanga makasi.
25 And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that is come up? surely to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who killeth him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel.
Moko na moko kati na bato ya Isalaele akomaki koloba: « Bozali na bino komona mobali oyo ndenge azali kobima mpo na koya epai na biso? Azali nde koya kotiola Isalaele! Mokonzi akopesa bomengo ebele epai ya moto oyo akoboma ye, akopesa ye mwana na ye ya mwasi na libala mpe akosalela libota ya tata na ye bolamu kati na Isalaele. »
26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?
Davidi atunaki mibali oyo bazalaki pembeni na ye: — Eloko nini bakosala na moto oyo akoboma moto ya Filisitia oyo mpe akolongola soni kati na Isalaele? Moto ya Filisitia oyo akatama ngenga te azali nani mpo ete atiola mampinga ya Nzambe na bomoi?

I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
Tango Eliabi, kulutu ya Davidi, ayokaki ye koloba na bato yango, asilikelaki ye makasi mpe atunaki: — Oyaki awa mpo na nini? Mpe na maboko ya nani otikaki mwa bameme na biso kati na esobe? Nayebi ndenge lolendo na yo ezalaka mpe ndenge nini ozalaka mayele mabe. Oyei na yo kaka mpo na kotala bitumba.
