1 Corinthians 9
1 Am I not free? am I not an apostle? have I not seen Jesus our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?
ਅਹੰ ਕਿਮ੍ ਏਕਃ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤੋ ਨਾਸ੍ਮਿ? ਕਿਮਹੰ ਸ੍ਵਤਨ੍ਤ੍ਰੋ ਨਾਸ੍ਮਿ? ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਰ੍ਯੀਸ਼ੁਃ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਃ ਕਿੰ ਮਯਾ ਨਾਦਰ੍ਸ਼ਿ? ਯੂਯਮਪਿ ਕਿੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਾ ਮਦੀਯਸ਼੍ਰਮਫਲਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾ ਨ ਭਵਥ?
2 If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for the seal of mine apostleship are ye in the Lord.
ਅਨ੍ਯਲੋਕਾਨਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਯਦ੍ਯਪ੍ਯਹੰ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤੋ ਨ ਭਵੇਯੰ ਤਥਾਚ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਤ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਿ ਯਤਃ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਾ ਮਮ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤਤ੍ਵਪਦਸ੍ਯ ਮੁਦ੍ਰਾਸ੍ਵਰੂਪਾ ਯੂਯਮੇਵਾਧ੍ਵੇ|
3 My defence to them that examine me is this.
ਯੇ ਲੋਕਾ ਮਯਿ ਦੋਸ਼਼ਮਾਰੋਪਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮਮ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯੁੱਤਰਮੇਤਤ੍|
4 Have we no right to eat and to drink?
ਭੋਜਨਪਾਨਯੋਃ ਕਿਮਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਮਤਾ ਨਾਸ੍ਤਿ?
5 Have we no right to lead about a wife that is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas?
ਅਨ੍ਯੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤਾਃ ਪ੍ਰਭੋ ਰ੍ਭ੍ਰਾਤਰੌ ਕੈਫਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਯਤ੍ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤਦ੍ਵਤ੍ ਕਾਞ੍ਚਿਤ੍ ਧਰ੍ੰਮਭਗਿਨੀਂ ਵ੍ਯੂਹ੍ਯ ਤਯਾ ਸਾਰ੍ੱਧੰ ਪਰ੍ੱਯਟਿਤੁੰ ਵਯੰ ਕਿੰ ਨ ਸ਼ਕ੍ਨੁਮਃ?
6 Or I only and Barnabas, have we not a right to forbear working?
ਸਾਂਸਾਰਿਕਸ਼੍ਰਮਸ੍ਯ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਯਾਗਾਤ੍ ਕਿੰ ਕੇਵਲਮਹੰ ਬਰ੍ਣੱਬਾਸ਼੍ਚ ਨਿਵਾਰਿਤੌ?
7 What soldier ever serveth at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock?
ਨਿਜਧਨਵ੍ਯਯੇਨ ਕਃ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਾਮੰ ਕਰੋਤਿ? ਕੋ ਵਾ ਦ੍ਰਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇਤ੍ਰੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਵਾ ਤਤ੍ਫਲਾਨਿ ਨ ਭੁਙ੍ਕ੍ਤੇ? ਕੋ ਵਾ ਪਸ਼ੁਵ੍ਰਜੰ ਪਾਲਯਨ੍ ਤਤ੍ਪਯੋ ਨ ਪਿਵਤਿ?
8 Do I speak these things after the manner of men? or saith not the law also the same?
ਕਿਮਹੰ ਕੇਵਲਾਂ ਮਾਨੁਸ਼਼ਿਕਾਂ ਵਾਚੰ ਵਦਾਮਿ? ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾਂ ਕਿਮੇਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੰ ਵਚਨੰ ਨ ਵਿਦ੍ਯਤੇ?
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. Is it for the oxen that God careth,
ਮੂਸਾਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਗ੍ਰਨ੍ਥੇ ਲਿਖਿਤਮਾਸ੍ਤੇ, ਤ੍ਵੰ ਸ਼ਸ੍ਯਮਰ੍ੱਦਕਵ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼਼ਸ੍ਯਾਸ੍ਯੰ ਨ ਭੰਤ੍ਸ੍ਯਸੀਤਿ| ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੇਣ ਬਲੀਵਰ੍ੱਦਾਨਾਮੇਵ ਚਿਨ੍ਤਾ ਕਿੰ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ?
10 or saith he it altogether for our sake? Yea, for our sake it was written: because he that ploweth ought to plow in hope, and he that thresheth, [to thresh] in hope of partaking.
ਕਿੰ ਵਾ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਥਾਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਤਦ੍ਵਚਨੰ ਤੇਨੋਕ੍ਤੰ? ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕਮੇਵ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਤੱਲਿਖਿਤੰ| ਯਃ ਕ੍ਸ਼਼ੇਤ੍ਰੰ ਕਰ੍ਸ਼਼ਤਿ ਤੇਨ ਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਾਸ਼ਾਯੁਕ੍ਤੇਨ ਕਰ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਟਵ੍ਯੰ, ਯਸ਼੍ਚ ਸ਼ਸ੍ਯਾਨਿ ਮਰ੍ੱਦਯਤਿ ਤੇਨ ਲਾਭਪ੍ਰਤ੍ਯਾਸ਼ਾਯੁਕ੍ਤੇਨ ਮਰ੍ੱਦਿਤਵ੍ਯੰ|
11 If we sowed unto you spiritual things, is it a great matter if we shall reap your carnal things?
ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਤ੍ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਭਿਃ ਪਾਰਤ੍ਰਿਕਾਣਿ ਬੀਜਾਨਿ ਰੋਪਿਤਾਨਿ, ਅਤੋ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕਮੈਹਿਕਫਲਾਨਾਂ ਵਯਮ੍ ਅੰਸ਼ਿਨੋ ਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਮਃ ਕਿਮੇਤਤ੍ ਮਹਤ੍ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ?
12 If others partake of [this] right over you, do not we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right; but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.
ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਸੁ ਯੋ(ਅ)ਧਿਕਾਰਸ੍ਤਸ੍ਯ ਭਾਗਿਨੋ ਯਦ੍ਯਨ੍ਯੇ ਭਵੇਯੁਸ੍ਤਰ੍ਹ੍ਯਸ੍ਮਾਭਿਸ੍ਤਤੋ(ਅ)ਧਿਕੰ ਕਿੰ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਭਾਗਿਭਿ ਰ੍ਨ ਭਵਿਤਵ੍ਯੰ? ਅਧਿਕਨ੍ਤੁ ਵਯੰ ਤੇਨਾਧਿਕਾਰੇਣ ਨ ਵ੍ਯਵਹ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੀਯਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਸ੍ਯ ਕੋ(ਅ)ਪਿ ਵ੍ਯਾਘਾਤੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਭਿਰ੍ਯੰਨ ਜਾਯੇਤ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੰ ਸਹਾਮਹੇ|
13 Know ye not that they which minister about sacred things eat [of] the things of the temple, [and] they which wait upon the altar have their portion with the altar?
ਅਪਰੰ ਯੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਵਸ੍ਤੂਨਾਂ ਪਰਿਚਰ੍ੱਯਾਂ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਵਸ੍ਤੁਤੋ ਭਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਾਣਿ ਲਭਨ੍ਤੇ, ਯੇ ਚ ਵੇਦ੍ਯਾਃ ਪਰਿਚਰ੍ੱਯਾਂ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇ ਵੇਦਿਸ੍ਥਵਸ੍ਤੂਨਾਮ੍ ਅੰਸ਼ਿਨੋ ਭਵਨ੍ਤ੍ਯੇਤਦ੍ ਯੂਯੰ ਕਿੰ ਨ ਵਿਦ?
14 Even so did the Lord ordain that they which proclaim the gospel should live of the gospel.
ਤਦ੍ਵਦ੍ ਯੇ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦੰ ਘੋਸ਼਼ਯਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੈਃ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦੇਨ ਜੀਵਿਤਵ੍ਯਮਿਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਨਾਦਿਸ਼਼੍ਟੰ|
15 But I have used none of these things: and I write not these things that it may be so done in my case: for [it were] good for me rather to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.
ਅਹਮੇਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਕਿਮਪਿ ਨਾਸ਼੍ਰਿਤਵਾਨ੍ ਮਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਤਦਨੁਸਾਰਾਤ੍ ਆਚਰਿਤਵ੍ਯਮਿਤ੍ਯਾਸ਼ਯੇਨਾਪਿ ਪਤ੍ਰਮਿਦੰ ਮਯਾ ਨ ਲਿਖ੍ਯਤੇ ਯਤਃ ਕੇਨਾਪਿ ਜਨੇਨ ਮਮ ਯਸ਼ਸੋ ਮੁਧਾਕਰਣਾਤ੍ ਮਮ ਮਰਣੰ ਵਰੰ|
16 For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of; for necessity is laid upon me; for woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel.
ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਘੇਸ਼਼ਣਾਤ੍ ਮਮ ਯਸ਼ੋ ਨ ਜਾਯਤੇ ਯਤਸ੍ਤਦ੍ਘੋਸ਼਼ਣੰ ਮਮਾਵਸ਼੍ਯਕੰ ਯਦ੍ਯਹੰ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦੰ ਨ ਘੋਸ਼਼ਯੇਯੰ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਮਾਂ ਧਿਕ੍|
17 For if I do this of mine own will, I have a reward: but if not of mine own will, I have a stewardship intrusted to me.
ਇੱਛੁਕੇਨ ਤਤ੍ ਕੁਰ੍ੱਵਤਾ ਮਯਾ ਫਲੰ ਲਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਤੇ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਨਿੱਛੁਕੇ(ਅ)ਪਿ ਮਯਿ ਤਤ੍ਕਰ੍ੰਮਣੋ ਭਾਰੋ(ਅ)ਰ੍ਪਿਤੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਤਿ|
18 What then is my reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel without charge, so as not to use to the full my right in the gospel.
ਏਤੇਨ ਮਯਾ ਲਭ੍ਯੰ ਫਲੰ ਕਿੰ? ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦੇਨ ਮਮ ਯੋ(ਅ)ਧਿਕਾਰ ਆਸ੍ਤੇ ਤੰ ਯਦਭਦ੍ਰਭਾਵੇਨ ਨਾਚਰੇਯੰ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਘੋਸ਼਼ਣਸਮਯੇ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੀਯਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਸ੍ਯ ਨਿਰ੍ਵ੍ਯਯੀਕਰਣਮੇਵ ਮਮ ਫਲੰ|
19 For though I was free from all [men], I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.
ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਮ੍ ਅਨਾਯੱਤੋ(ਅ)ਹੰ ਯਦ੍ ਭੂਰਿਸ਼ੋ ਲੋਕਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਦ੍ਯੇ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਦਾਸਤ੍ਵਮਙ੍ਗੀਕ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਾਨ੍|
20 And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, not being myself under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;
ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨ੍ ਯਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਦ੍ਯੇ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਾਨਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਯਿਹੂਦੀਯਇਵਾਭਵੰ| ਯੇ ਚ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯੱਤਾਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਯਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਦ੍ਯੇ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਨਾਯੱਤੋ ਯੋ(ਅ)ਹੰ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਹੰ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯੱਤਾਨਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯੱਤਇਵਾਭਵੰ|
21 to them that are without law, as without law, not being without law to God, but under law to Christ, that I might gain them that are without law.
ਯੇ ਚਾਲਬ੍ਧਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਸ੍ਤਾਨ੍ ਯਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਦ੍ਯੇ ਤਦਰ੍ਥਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਸ੍ਯ ਸਾਕ੍ਸ਼਼ਾਦ੍ ਅਲਬ੍ਧਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥੋ ਨ ਭੂਤ੍ਵਾ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੇਨ ਲਬ੍ਧਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥੋ ਯੋ(ਅ)ਹੰ ਸੋ(ਅ)ਹਮ੍ ਅਲਬ੍ਧਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਨਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ(ਅ)ਲਬ੍ਧਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥ ਇਵਾਭਵੰ|
22 To the weak I became weak, that I might gain the weak: I am become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.
ਦੁਰ੍ੱਬਲਾਨ੍ ਯਤ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਦ੍ਯੇ ਤਦਰ੍ਥਮਹੰ ਦੁਰ੍ੱਬਲਾਨਾਂ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ ਦੁਰ੍ੱਬਲਇਵਾਭਵੰ| ਇੱਥੰ ਕੇਨਾਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰੇਣ ਕਤਿਪਯਾ ਲੋਕਾ ਯਨ੍ਮਯਾ ਪਰਿਤ੍ਰਾਣੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਨੁਯੁਸ੍ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਯੋ ਯਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ ਆਸੀਤ੍ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਕ੍ਰੁʼਤੇ (ਅ)ਹੰ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ਇਵਾਭਵੰ|
23 And I do all things for the gospel’s sake, that I may be a joint partaker thereof.
ਇਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ ਆਚਾਰਃ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਮਯਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ ਯਤੋ(ਅ)ਹੰ ਤਸ੍ਯ ਫਲਾਨਾਂ ਸਹਭਾਗੀ ਭਵਿਤੁਮਿੱਛਾਮਿ|
24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? Even so run, that ye may attain.
ਪਣ੍ਯਲਾਭਾਰ੍ਥੰ ਯੇ ਧਾਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਧਾਵਤਾਂ ਤੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਸਰ੍ੱਵੇਸ਼਼ਾਂ ਕੇਵਲ ਏਕਃ ਪਣ੍ਯੰ ਲਭਤੇ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਭਿਃ ਕਿਮੇਤੰਨ ਜ੍ਞਾਯਤੇ? ਅਤੋ ਯੂਯੰ ਯਥਾ ਪਣ੍ਯੰ ਲਪ੍ਸ੍ਯਧ੍ਵੇ ਤਥੈਵ ਧਾਵਤ|
25 And every man that striveth in the games is temperate in all things. Now they [do it] to receive a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
ਮੱਲਾ ਅਪਿ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਭੋਗੇ ਪਰਿਮਿਤਭੋਗਿਨੋ ਭਵਨ੍ਤਿ ਤੇ ਤੁ ਮ੍ਲਾਨਾਂ ਸ੍ਰਜੰ ਲਿਪ੍ਸਨ੍ਤੇ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਵਯਮ੍ ਅਮ੍ਲਾਨਾਂ ਲਿਪ੍ਸਾਮਹੇ|
26 I therefore so run, as not uncertainly; so fight I, as not beating the air:
ਤਸ੍ਮਾਦ੍ ਅਹਮਪਿ ਧਾਵਾਮਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਲਕ੍ਸ਼਼੍ਯਮਨੁੱਦਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਧਾਵਾਮਿ ਤੰਨਹਿ| ਅਹੰ ਮੱਲਇਵ ਯੁਧ੍ਯਾਮਿ ਚ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਛਾਯਾਮਾਘਾਤਯੰਨਿਵ ਯੁਧ੍ਯਾਮਿ ਤੰਨਹਿ|
27 but I buffet my body, and bring it into bondage: lest by any means, after that I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
ਇਤਰਾਨ੍ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਸੁਸੰਵਾਦੰ ਘੋਸ਼਼ਯਿਤ੍ਵਾਹੰ ਯਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਯਮਗ੍ਰਾਹ੍ਯੋ ਨ ਭਵਾਮਿ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਦੇਹਮ੍ ਆਹਨ੍ਮਿ ਵਸ਼ੀਕੁਰ੍ੱਵੇ ਚ|
