< 1 Corinthians 10 >
1 For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant, how that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
Nítorí èmi kò fẹ́ kí ẹ̀yin jẹ́ òpè si òtítọ́, ẹ̀yin arákùnrin ọ̀wọ́n, a kó gbọdọ̀ gbàgbé ohun tí ó ṣẹlẹ̀ sí àwọn ènìyàn wa nínú aginjù. Ọlọ́run ṣamọ̀nà wọn nípa rírán ìkùùkuu síwájú wọn, ó sì sìn wọ́n la omi Òkun pupa já.
2 and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
A lè pe eléyìí ní ìtẹ̀bọmi ti Mose nínú ìkùùkuu àti nínú omi Òkun.
3 and did all eat the same spiritual meat;
Nípa iṣẹ́ ìyanu, gbogbo wọn jẹ oúnjẹ ẹ̀mí kan náà.
4 and did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them: and the rock was Christ.
Wọ́n mu nínú omi tí Kristi fi fún wọn. Wọ́n mu omi ẹ̀mí láti inú àpáta tí ó ń tẹ̀lé wọn, àpáta náà ni Kristi. Ó wà pẹ̀lú wọn nínú aginjù náà, òun ni àpáta tí ń fi omi ẹ̀mí tu ọkàn lára.
5 Howbeit with most of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Ṣùgbọ́n ọ̀pọ̀lọpọ̀ wọn ni inú Ọlọ́run kò dún sí; nítorí a pa wọ́n run nínú aginjù.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
Àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí sì jásí àpẹẹrẹ fún àwa, kí a má ṣe ní ìfẹ́ sí àwọn ohun búburú gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn ènìyàn yìí ṣe ní ìfẹ́ si.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
Kí ẹ̀yin kí ó má ṣe jẹ́ abọ̀rìṣà gẹ́gẹ́ bí wọ́n ti ṣe; gẹ́gẹ́ bí a ti kọ ọ́ pé, “Àwọn ènìyàn náà jókòó láti jẹ àti láti mu, wọ́n sì dìde dúró láti ṣe ìfẹ́kúfẹ̀ẹ́.”
8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí àwa kí ó má ṣe ṣe àgbèrè gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn mìíràn nínú wọn ti ṣe, tí ẹgbẹ̀rún méjìlélógún ó lé lẹgbẹ̀rún ènìyàn sì kú ní ọjọ́ kan.
9 Neither let us tempt the Lord, as some of them tempted, and perished by the serpents.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ẹ̀yin má ṣe dán Olúwa wò, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn mìíràn nínú wọn ti dán an wò, tí a sì fi ejò run wọ́n.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and perished by the destroyer.
Bẹ́ẹ̀ ni kí ẹ̀yin kí ó má ṣe kùn, gẹ́gẹ́ bí àwọn mìíràn nínú wọ́n ṣe kùn, tí a sì ti ọwọ́ olùparun run wọ́n.
11 Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come. (aiōn )
Gbogbo àwọn nǹkan wọ̀nyí ṣẹlẹ̀ sí wọn bí àpẹẹrẹ fún wa, a sì kọ̀wé wọn fún ìkìlọ̀ fún wa, àwa ẹni tí ìgbẹ̀yìn ayé dé bá. (aiōn )
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
Nítorí náà, ẹni tí ó bá rò pé òun dúró, kí ó kíyèsára kí ó ma ba à ṣubú.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.
Kò sí ìdánwò kan tí ó ti bá yín, bí kò ṣe irú èyí tí ó mọ níwọ̀n fún ènìyàn, ṣùgbọ́n olódodo ni Ọlọ́run, ẹni ti kì yóò jẹ́ kí á dán an yín wò ju bí ẹ̀yin ti le gbà, ṣùgbọ́n tí yóò sì ṣe ọ̀nà àbáyọ pẹ̀lú nínú ìdánwò náà, kí ẹ̀yin ba à lè faradà á.
14 Wherefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
Nítorí náà, ẹ̀yin olùfẹ́ ọ̀wọ́n, ẹ sá fún ìbọ̀rìṣà.
15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
Èmi ń sọ̀rọ̀ bí ọlọ́gbọ́n ènìyàn, ṣe ìdájọ́ fúnra rẹ̀ ohun tí mo sọ.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a communion of the body of Christ?
Ǹjẹ́ ago ìdúpẹ́ nípasẹ̀ èyí tí a ń dúpẹ́ fún, kì í ha ṣe jíjẹ́ alábápín ìdàpọ̀ nínú ẹ̀jẹ̀ Kristi bí? Àkàrà tí a bù, kì í ha ṣe jíjẹ́ alábápín nínú ara Kristi bi?
17 seeing that we, who are many, are one bread, one body: for we all partake of the one bread.
Nítorí àkàrà kan ni ó ń bẹ, àwa tí a pọ̀ níye, tí a sì jẹ ara kan ń pín nínú àkàrà kan ṣoṣo.
18 Behold Israel after the flesh: have not they which eat the sacrifices communion with the altar?
Ẹ wo Israẹli nípa ti ara, àwọn tí ń jẹ ohun ẹbọ kò ha ṣe alábápín pẹpẹ bí?
19 What say I then? that a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
Ǹjẹ́ kí ni mo ń wí? Ṣé pé ohun tí a fi rú ẹbọ sí òrìṣà jẹ́ nǹkan kan tàbí pé òrìṣà jẹ́ nǹkan kan?
20 But [I say], that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have communion with devils.
Rárá, ṣùgbọ́n ohun tí mo ń wí ni pé, ohun tí àwọn aláìkọlà fi ń rú ẹbọ wọn fi fun àwọn ẹ̀mí èṣù. Dájúdájú kì í ṣe ìrúbọ sí Ọlọ́run. Èmi kò sì fẹ́ kí ẹnikẹ́ni nínú yín so ara rẹ̀ pọ̀ mọ́ ẹ̀mí èṣù.
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of devils.
Ẹ̀yin kò lè mu nínú ago tí Olúwa àti ago ti èṣù lẹ́ẹ̀kan náà; ẹ̀yin kò le ṣe àjọpín ní tábìlì Olúwa, àti ni tábìlì ẹ̀mí èṣù lẹ́ẹ̀kan náà.
22 Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Kí ni ẹ̀ ń gbìyànjú láti ṣe? Àwa ha ń mú Olúwa jowú bí? Àwa ha ní agbára jù ú lọ bi?
23 All things are lawful; but all things are not expedient. All things are lawful; but all things edify not.
“Ohun gbogbo ni o yẹ fún mi,” ṣùgbọ́n kì í ṣe ohun gbogbo ni ó ní èrè. “Ohun gbogbo ni ó yẹ fún mi,” ṣùgbọ́n kì í ṣe ohun gbogbo ni ń gbe ni rò.

26 for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof.

27 If one of them that believe not biddeth you [to a feast], and ye are disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

28 But if any man say unto you, This hath been offered in sacrifice, eat not, for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake:

31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

33 even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the [profit] of the many, that they may be saved.
