1 Chronicles 23
1 Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
੧ਹੁਣ ਦਾਊਦ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਮਰ ਭੋਗ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਾਇਆ।
2 And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
੨ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਸਣੇ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ
3 And the Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.
੩ਅਤੇ ਲੇਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੀਹ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਮਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਅਠੱਤੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਸੀ।
4 Of these, twenty and four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges:
੪ਇੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਚੌਵੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਛੇ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਈਂ ਸਨ
5 and four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, [said David], to praise therewith.
੫ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਦਰਬਾਨ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਜੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਜਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਂ, ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਏ ਸਨ।
6 And David divided them into courses according to the sons of Levi; Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
੬ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਨ, ਕਹਾਥ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਾਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਲੱਗ-ਅਲੱਗ ਦਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
7 Of the Gershonites; Ladan and Shimei.
੭ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਲਅਦਾਨ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਮਈ
8 The sons of Ladan; Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
੮ਲਅਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਯਹੀਏਲ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੇਥਾਮ ਤੇ ਯੋਏਲ ਤਿੰਨ
9 The sons of Shimei; Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ [houses] of Ladan.
੯ਸ਼ਿਮਈ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸ਼ਲੋਮੀਥ ਤੇ ਹਜ਼ੀਏਲ ਤੇ ਹਾਰਾਨ, ਤਿੰਨ। ਇਹ ਲਅਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ
10 And the sons of Shimei; Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
੧੦ਸ਼ਿਮਈ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਯਹਥ, ਜ਼ੀਨਾ ਤੇ ਯਊਸ਼ ਤੇ ਬਰੀਆਹ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਿਮਈ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ, ਚਾਰ
11 And Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah had not many sons; therefore they became a fathers’ house in one reckoning.
੧੧ਅਤੇ ਯਹਥ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਤੇ ਜ਼ੀਜ਼ਾਹ ਦੂਜਾ ਪਰ ਯਊਸ਼ ਤੇ ਬਰੀਆਹ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ, ਤਦੇ ਉਹ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਪਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਠਹਿਰੇ।
12 The sons of Kohath; Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
੧੨ਕਹਾਥ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਅਮਰਾਮ, ਯਿਸਹਾਰ, ਹਬਰੋਨ ਤੇ ਉੱਜ਼ੀਏਲ, ਚਾਰ
13 The sons of Amram; Aaron and Moses: and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, for ever.
੧੩ਅਮਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਹਾਰੂਨ ਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ, ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅੱਤ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਰੱਖੇ, ਉਹ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਪ ਵੀ ਧੁਖਾਉਣ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਬਰਕਤ ਦੇਣ।
14 But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
੧੪ਮੂਸਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਭਗਤ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਗੋਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ
15 The sons of Moses; Gershom and Eliezer.
੧੫ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਮ ਤੇ ਅਲੀਅਜ਼ਰ
16 The sons of Gershom; Shebuel the chief.
੧੬ਗੇਰਸ਼ੋਮ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸ਼ਬੂਏਲ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਸੀ
17 And the sons of Eliezer were, Rehabiah the chief. And Eliezer had none other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
੧੭ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਰਹਾਬਯਾਹ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਅਜ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਰਹਾਬਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਨ
18 The sons of Izhar; Shelomith the chief.
੧੮ਯਿਸਹਾਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਸ਼ਲੋਮੀਥ ਮੁਖੀਆ
19 The sons of Hebron; Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
੧੯ਹਬਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਯਰੀਯਾਹ ਮੁਖੀਆ, ਅਮਰਯਾਹ ਦੂਜਾ, ਯਹਜ਼ੀਏਲ ਤੀਜਾ ਤੇ ਯਿਕਮਆਮ ਚੌਥਾ
20 The sons of Uzziel; Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
੨੦ਉੱਜ਼ੀਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਮੀਕਾਹ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਤੇ ਯਿੱਸ਼ੀਯਾਹ ਦੂਜਾ।
21 The sons of Merari; Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli; Eleazar and Kish.
੨੧ਮਰਾਰੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਮਹਲੀ ਤੇ ਮੂਸ਼ੀ। ਮਹਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਤੇ ਕੀਸ਼
22 And Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only: and their brethren the sons of Kish took them [to wife].
੨੨ਅਤੇ ਅਲਆਜ਼ਾਰ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਧੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਕੀਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਕੀਤੇ
23 The sons of Mushi; Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
੨੩ਮੂਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਮਹਲੀ ਤੇ ਏਦਰ ਤੇ ਯਿਰੇਮੋਥ, ਤਿੰਨ।
24 These were the sons of Levi after their fathers’ houses, even the heads of the fathers’ [houses] of those of them that were counted, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of the LORD, from twenty years old and upward.
੨੪ਇਹ ਲੇਵੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਪਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਇਹ ਪਿਤਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਏ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖਰੇ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਹ ਵਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
25 For David said, The LORD, the God of Israel, hath given rest unto his people; and he dwelleth in Jerusalem for ever:
੨੫ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਰਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਵੱਸੇਗੀ ।
26 and also the Levites shall no more have need to carry the tabernacle and all the vessels of it for the service thereof.
੨੬ਨਾਲੇ ਲੇਵੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਡੇਰਾ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਮਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਲਈ ਫੇਰ ਨਾ ਚੁੱਕਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ
27 For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
੨੭ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਆਖਰੀ ਹੁਕਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹ ਲੇਵੀ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਨ, ਗਿਣੇ ਗਏ
28 For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of the house of God;
੨੮ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਇਹ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਕੋਲ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਰਹਿਣ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਵਿਹੜਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਕੋਠੜੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਨ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ
29 for the shewbread also, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all manner of measure and size;
੨੯ਚੜਾਵੇ ਦੀ ਰੋਟੀ, ਅੰਨ ਬਲੀ ਦੇ ਮੈਦੇ, ਪਤੀਰਿਆਂ ਫੁਲਕਿਆਂ, ਤਵੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਕਾਈਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਰੋਟੀਆਂ, ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਿਣਤੀ ਲਈ
30 and to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even;
੩੦ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਖੜੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਤੇ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਕਰਨ
31 and to offer all burnt offerings unto the LORD, in the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feast, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before the LORD:
੩੧ਅਤੇ ਸਬਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਮੱਸਿਆ ਤੇ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਪਰਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹੁਕਮਨਾਮੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਮ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਚੜਾਇਆ ਕਰਨ
32 and that they should keep the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the holy place, and the charge of the sons of Aaron their brethren, for the service of the house of the LORD.
੩੨ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਲਈ ਉਠਾਉਣ।
