Romans 1
1 From Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, who has been called to become an apostle, and has been set apart to tell God’s good news.
ஈஸ்²வரோ நிஜபுத்ரமதி⁴ யம்’ ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ ப⁴விஷ்யத்³வாதி³பி⁴ ர்த⁴ர்ம்மக்³ரந்தே² ப்ரதிஸ்²ருதவாந் தம்’ ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ ப்ரசாரயிதும்’ ப்ரு’த²க்க்ரு’த ஆஹூத: ப்ரேரிதஸ்²ச ப்ரபோ⁴ ர்யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸேவகோ ய: பௌல:
2 This good news God promised long ago through his prophets in the sacred scriptures,
ஸ ரோமாநக³ரஸ்தா²ந் ஈஸ்²வரப்ரியாந் ஆஹூதாம்’ஸ்²ச பவித்ரலோகாந் ப்ரதி பத்ரம்’ லிக²தி|
3 concerning his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord; who, as to his human nature, was descended from David,
அஸ்மாகம்’ ஸ ப்ரபு⁴ ர்யீஸு²: க்²ரீஷ்ட: ஸா²ரீரிகஸம்ப³ந்தே⁴ந தா³யூதோ³ வம்’ஸோ²த்³ப⁴வ:
4 but, as to the spirit of holiness within him, was miraculously designated Son of God by his resurrection from the dead.
பவித்ரஸ்யாத்மந: ஸம்ப³ந்தே⁴ந சேஸ்²வரஸ்ய ப்ரபா⁴வவாந் புத்ர இதி ஸ்²மஸா²நாத் தஸ்யோத்தா²நேந ப்ரதிபந்நம்’|
5 Through him we received the gift of the apostolic office, to win submission to the faith among all nations for the glory of his name.
அபரம்’ யேஷாம்’ மத்⁴யே யீஸு²நா க்²ரீஷ்டேந யூயமப்யாஹூதாஸ்தே (அ)ந்யதே³ஸீ²யலோகாஸ்தஸ்ய நாம்நி விஸ்²வஸ்ய நிதே³ஸ²க்³ராஹிணோ யதா² ப⁴வந்தி
6 And among these nations are you – you who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.
தத³பி⁴ப்ராயேண வயம்’ தஸ்மாத்³ அநுக்³ரஹம்’ ப்ரேரிதத்வபத³ஞ்ச ப்ராப்தா: |
7 To all in Rome who are dear to God and have been called to become Christ’s people, may God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and give you peace.
தாதேநாஸ்மாகம் ஈஸ்²வரேண ப்ரபு⁴ணா யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டேந ச யுஷ்மப்⁴யம் அநுக்³ரஹ: ஸா²ந்திஸ்²ச ப்ரதீ³யேதாம்’|
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because the report of your faith is spreading throughout the world.
ப்ரத²மத: ஸர்வ்வஸ்மிந் ஜக³தி யுஷ்மாகம்’ விஸ்²வாஸஸ்ய ப்ரகாஸி²தத்வாத்³ அஹம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ நிமித்தம்’ யீஸு²க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய நாம க்³ரு’ஹ்லந் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய த⁴ந்யவாத³ம்’ கரோமி|
9 God, to whom I offer the worship of my soul as I tell the goodness of his Son, is my witness how constantly I mention you when I pray,
அபரம் ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ப்ரஸாதா³த்³ ப³ஹுகாலாத் பரம்’ ஸாம்ப்ரதம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபம்’ யாதும்’ கத²மபி யத் ஸுயோக³ம்’ ப்ராப்நோமி, ஏதத³ர்த²ம்’ நிரந்தரம்’ நாமாந்யுச்சாரயந் நிஜாஸு ஸர்வ்வப்ரார்த²நாஸு ஸர்வ்வதா³ நிவேத³யாமி,
10 asking that, if he be willing, I may some day at last find the way open to visit you.
ஏதஸ்மிந் யமஹம்’ தத்புத்ரீயஸுஸம்’வாத³ப்ரசாரணேந மநஸா பரிசராமி ஸ ஈஸ்²வரோ மம ஸாக்ஷீ வித்³யதே|
11 For I long to see you, in order to impart to you some spiritual gift and so give you fresh strength –
யதோ யுஷ்மாகம்’ மம ச விஸ்²வாஸேந வயம் உப⁴யே யதா² ஸா²ந்தியுக்தா ப⁴வாம இதி காரணாத்³
12 or rather that both you and I may find encouragement in each other’s faith.
யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸ்தை²ர்ய்யகரணார்த²ம்’ யுஷ்மப்⁴யம்’ கிஞ்சித்பரமார்த²தா³நதா³நாய யுஷ்மாந் ஸாக்ஷாத் கர்த்தும்’ மதீ³யா வாஞ்சா²|
13 I want you to know, my friends, that I have many times intended coming to see you – but until now I have been prevented – that I might find among you some fruit of my labors, as I have already among the other nations.
ஹே ப்⁴ராத்ரு’க³ண பி⁴ந்நதே³ஸீ²யலோகாநாம்’ மத்⁴யே யத்³வத் தத்³வத்³ யுஷ்மாகம்’ மத்⁴யேபி யதா² ப²லம்’ பு⁴ஞ்ஜே தத³பி⁴ப்ராயேண முஹுர்முஹு ர்யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபம்’ க³ந்தும் உத்³யதோ(அ)ஹம்’ கிந்து யாவத்³ அத்³ய தஸ்மிந் க³மநே மம விக்⁴நோ ஜாத இதி யூயம்’ யத்³ அஜ்ஞாதாஸ்திஷ்ட²த² தத³ஹம் உசிதம்’ ந பு³த்⁴யே|
14 I have a duty to both the Greek and the barbarian, to both the cultured and the ignorant.
அஹம்’ ஸப்⁴யாஸப்⁴யாநாம்’ வித்³வத³வித்³வதாஞ்ச ஸர்வ்வேஷாம் ரு’ணீ வித்³யே|
15 And so, for my part, I am ready to tell the good news to you also who are in Rome.
அதஏவ ரோமாநிவாஸிநாம்’ யுஷ்மாகம்’ ஸமீபே(அ)பி யதா²ஸ²க்தி ஸுஸம்’வாத³ம்’ ப்ரசாரயிதும் அஹம் உத்³யதோஸ்மி|
16 For I am not ashamed of the good news; it is the power of God which brings salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, but also to the Greek.
யத: க்²ரீஷ்டஸ்ய ஸுஸம்’வாதோ³ மம லஜ்ஜாஸ்பத³ம்’ நஹி ஸ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸ²க்திஸ்வரூப: ஸந் ஆ யிஹூதீ³யேப்⁴யோ (அ)ந்யஜாதீயாந் யாவத் ஸர்வ்வஜாதீயாநாம்’ மத்⁴யே ய: கஸ்²சித்³ தத்ர விஸ்²வஸிதி தஸ்யைவ த்ராணம்’ ஜநயதி|
17 For in it there is a revelation of the divine righteousness resulting from faith and leading on to faith; as scripture says – ‘Through faith the righteous will find life.’
யத: ப்ரத்யயஸ்ய ஸமபரிமாணம் ஈஸ்²வரத³த்தம்’ புண்யம்’ தத்ஸுஸம்’வாதே³ ப்ரகாஸ²தே| தத³தி⁴ த⁴ர்ம்மபுஸ்தகேபி லிகி²தமித³ம்’ "புண்யவாந் ஜநோ விஸ்²வாஸேந ஜீவிஷ்யதி"|
18 So, too, there is a revelation from heaven of the divine wrath against every form of ungodliness and wickedness on the part of those people who, by their wicked lives, are stifling the truth.
அதஏவ யே மாநவா: பாபகர்ம்மணா ஸத்யதாம்’ ருந்த⁴ந்தி தேஷாம்’ ஸர்வ்வஸ்ய து³ராசரணஸ்யாத⁴ர்ம்மஸ்ய ச விருத்³த⁴ம்’ ஸ்வர்கா³த்³ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய கோப: ப்ரகாஸ²தே|
19 This is so, because what can be known about God is plain to them; for God himself has made it plain.
யத ஈஸ்²வரமதி⁴ யத்³யத்³ ஜ்ஞேயம்’ தத்³ ஈஸ்²வர: ஸ்வயம்’ தாந் ப்ரதி ப்ரகாஸி²தவாந் தஸ்மாத் தேஷாம் அகோ³சரம்’ நஹி|
20 For ever since the creation of the universe God’s invisible attributes – his everlasting power and divinity – are to be seen and studied in his works, so that people have no excuse; (aïdios g126)
ப²லதஸ்தஸ்யாநந்தஸ²க்தீஸ்²வரத்வாதீ³ந்யத்³ரு’ஸ்²யாந்யபி ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டிகாலம் ஆரப்⁴ய கர்ம்மஸு ப்ரகாஸ²மாநாநி த்³ரு’ஸ்²யந்தே தஸ்மாத் தேஷாம்’ தோ³ஷப்ரக்ஷாலநஸ்ய பந்தா² நாஸ்தி| (aïdios g126)
21 because, although they learned to know God, yet they did not offer him as God either praise or thanksgiving. Their speculations about him proved futile, and their undiscerning minds were darkened.
அபரம் ஈஸ்²வரம்’ ஜ்ஞாத்வாபி தே தம் ஈஸ்²வரஜ்ஞாநேந நாத்³ரியந்த க்ரு’தஜ்ஞா வா ந ஜாதா: ; தஸ்மாத் தேஷாம்’ ஸர்வ்வே தர்கா விப²லீபூ⁴தா: , அபரஞ்ச தேஷாம்’ விவேகஸூ²ந்யாநி மநாம்’ஸி திமிரே மக்³நாநி|
22 Professing to be wise, they showed themselves fools;
தே ஸ்வாந் ஜ்ஞாநிநோ ஜ்ஞாத்வா ஜ்ஞாநஹீநா அப⁴வந்
23 and they transformed the glory of the immortal God into the likeness of mortal humans, and of birds, and beasts, and reptiles.
அநஸ்²வரஸ்யேஸ்²வரஸ்ய கௌ³ரவம்’ விஹாய நஸ்²வரமநுஷ்யபஸு²பக்ஷ்யுரோகா³மிப்ரப்⁴ரு’தேராக்ரு’திவிஸி²ஷ்டப்ரதிமாஸ்தைராஸ்²ரிதா: |
24 Therefore God abandoned them to impurity, letting them follow the cravings of their hearts, until they dishonored their own bodies;
இத்த²ம்’ த ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸத்யதாம்’ விஹாய ம்ரு’ஷாமதம் ஆஸ்²ரிதவந்த: ஸச்சிதா³நந்த³ம்’ ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டிகர்த்தாரம்’ த்யக்த்வா ஸ்ரு’ஷ்டவஸ்துந: பூஜாம்’ ஸேவாஞ்ச க்ரு’தவந்த: ; (aiōn g165)
25 for they had substituted a lie for the truth about God, and had reverenced and worshiped created things more than the Creator, who is to be praised for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
இதி ஹேதோரீஸ்²வரஸ்தாந் குக்ரியாயாம்’ ஸமர்ப்ய நிஜநிஜகுசிந்தாபி⁴லாஷாப்⁴யாம்’ ஸ்வம்’ ஸ்வம்’ ஸ²ரீரம்’ பரஸ்பரம் அபமாநிதம்’ கர்த்தும் அத³தா³த்|
26 That, I say, is why God abandoned them to degrading passions. Even the women among them perverted the natural use of their bodies to the unnatural;
ஈஸ்²வரேண தேஷு க்வபி⁴லாஷே ஸமர்பிதேஷு தேஷாம்’ யோஷித: ஸ்வாபா⁴விகாசரணம் அபஹாய விபரீதக்ரு’த்யே ப்ராவர்த்தந்த;
27 while the men, disregarding that for which women were intended by nature, were consumed with passion for one another. Men indulged in vile practices with men, and incurred in their own persons the inevitable penalty for their perverseness.
ததா² புருஷா அபி ஸ்வாபா⁴விகயோஷித்ஸங்க³மம்’ விஹாய பரஸ்பரம்’ காமக்ரு’ஸா²நுநா த³க்³தா⁴: ஸந்த: புமாம்’ஸ: பும்’பி⁴: ஸாகம்’ குக்ரு’த்யே ஸமாஸஜ்ய நிஜநிஜப்⁴ராந்தே: ஸமுசிதம்’ ப²லம் அலப⁴ந்த|
28 Then, as they would not keep God before their minds, God abandoned them to depraved thoughts, so that they did all kinds of shameful things.
தே ஸ்வேஷாம்’ மந: ஸ்வீஸ்²வராய ஸ்தா²நம்’ தா³தும் அநிச்சு²காஸ்ததோ ஹேதோரீஸ்²வரஸ்தாந் ப்ரதி து³ஷ்டமநஸ்கத்வம் அவிஹிதக்ரியத்வஞ்ச த³த்தவாந்|
29 They reveled in every form of wickedness, evil, greed, vice. Their lives were full of envy, murder, quarreling, treachery, malice.
அதஏவ தே ஸர்வ்வே (அ)ந்யாயோ வ்யபி⁴சாரோ து³ஷ்டத்வம்’ லோபோ⁴ ஜிகா⁴ம்’ஸா ஈர்ஷ்யா வதோ⁴ விவாத³ஸ்²சாதுரீ குமதிரித்யாதி³பி⁴ ர்து³ஷ்கர்ம்மபி⁴: பரிபூர்ணா: ஸந்த:
30 They became back-biters, slanderers, impious, insolent, boastful. They devised new sins. They disobeyed their parents.
கர்ணேஜபா அபவாதி³ந ஈஸ்²வரத்³வேஷகா ஹிம்’ஸகா அஹங்காரிண ஆத்மஸ்²லாகி⁴ந: குகர்ம்மோத்பாத³கா: பித்ரோராஜ்ஞாலங்க⁴கா
31 They were undiscerning, untrustworthy, without natural affection or pity.
அவிசாரகா நியமலங்கி⁴ந: ஸ்நேஹரஹிதா அதித்³வேஷிணோ நிர்த³யாஸ்²ச ஜாதா: |
32 Well aware of God’s decree, that those who do such things deserve to die, not only are they guilty of them themselves, but they even applaud those who do them.
யே ஜநா ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ கர்ம்ம குர்வ்வந்தி தஏவ ம்ரு’தியோக்³யா ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய விசாரமீத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ ஜ்ஞாத்வாபி த ஏதாத்³ரு’ஸ²ம்’ கர்ம்ம ஸ்வயம்’ குர்வ்வந்தி கேவலமிதி நஹி கிந்து தாத்³ரு’ஸ²கர்ம்மகாரிஷு லோகேஷ்வபி ப்ரீயந்தே|
