< Romans 1 >
1 From Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, who has been called to become an apostle, and has been set apart to tell God’s good news.
Paoly, mpanompon’ i Jesosy Kristy, voantso ho Apostoly, voatokana ho amin’ ny filazantsaran’ Andriamanitra,
2 This good news God promised long ago through his prophets in the sacred scriptures,
izay nampilazainy ny mpaminany rahateo teo amin’ ny Soratra Masìna,
3 concerning his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord; who, as to his human nature, was descended from David,
ny amin’ ny Zanany, Izay nateraka avy tamin’ ny taranak’ i Davida araka ny nofo,
4 but, as to the spirit of holiness within him, was miraculously designated Son of God by his resurrection from the dead.
ary naseho tamin-kery ho Zanak’ Andriamanitra araka ny fahamasinana tamin’ ny fitsanganany tamin’ ny maty, ― dia Jesosy Kristy Tompontsika,
5 Through him we received the gift of the apostolic office, to win submission to the faith among all nations for the glory of his name.
Izay nandraisanay fahasoavana sy ny mah’ Apostoly anay hahatonga fanekena ny finoana ho voninahitry ny anarany any amin’ ny jentilisa rehetra;
6 And among these nations are you – you who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.
ary ianareo koa, izay isan’ ireny, dia voantso ho an’ i Jesosy Kristy, ―
7 To all in Rome who are dear to God and have been called to become Christ’s people, may God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and give you peace.
ho an’ izay rehetra any Roma, malalan’ Andriamanitra sady voantso ho masìna; ho aminareo anie ny fahasoavana sy ny fiadanana avy amin’ Andriamanitra Raintsika sy Jesosy Kristy Tompo.
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because the report of your faith is spreading throughout the world.
Voalohany, misaotra an’ Andriamanitro amin’ ny alalan’ i Jesosy Kristy aho noho ny aminareo rehetra, satria efa re eran’ izao tontolo izao ny lazan’ ny finoanareo.
9 God, to whom I offer the worship of my soul as I tell the goodness of his Son, is my witness how constantly I mention you when I pray,
Fa Andriamanitra, Izay tompoin’ ny fanahiko amin’ ny filazantsaran’ ny Zanany, no vavolombeloko fa tsy mitsahatra mahatsiaro anareo aho, ka mandrakariva, raha mivavaka aho,
10 asking that, if he be willing, I may some day at last find the way open to visit you.
dia mangataka fandrao mba hisy hahafahako amin’ izao ho tonga aminareo, raha sitrapon’ Andriamanitra.
11 For I long to see you, in order to impart to you some spiritual gift and so give you fresh strength –
Fa maniry hahita anareo aho hanomezako anareo fahasoavam-panahy ho anareo, mba hampaharezina ianareo,
12 or rather that both you and I may find encouragement in each other’s faith.
izany dia ny mba hiarahako hamporisihina aminareo amin’ ny finoantsika, dia ny anareo sy ny ahy.
13 I want you to know, my friends, that I have many times intended coming to see you – but until now I have been prevented – that I might find among you some fruit of my labors, as I have already among the other nations.
Ary tsy tiako tsy ho fantatrareo, ry rahalahy, fa matetika aho no efa nikasa hankatỳ aminareo (saingy azon-tsampona mandraka ankehitriny aho), hananako izay vokatra atỳ aminareo koa, toy ny any amin’ ny jentilisa sasany.
14 I have a duty to both the Greek and the barbarian, to both the cultured and the ignorant.
Ananan’ ny Grika sy ny firenena hafa rehetra, ny hendry sy ny tsy hendry, trosa aho;
15 And so, for my part, I am ready to tell the good news to you also who are in Rome.
koa raha izaho, dia mazoto hitory ny filazantsara aminareo izay any Roma koa aho.
16 For I am not ashamed of the good news; it is the power of God which brings salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, but also to the Greek.
Fa tsy menatra ny filazantsara aho; fa herin’ Andriamanitra ho famonjena izay rehetra mino izany, amin’ ny Jiosy aloha, dia vao amin’ ny jentilisa koa.
17 For in it there is a revelation of the divine righteousness resulting from faith and leading on to faith; as scripture says – ‘Through faith the righteous will find life.’
Fa amin’ izany no anehoana fahamarinana avy amin’ Andriamanitra avy amin’ ny finoana sy ho amin’ ny finoana, araka ny voasoratra hoe: Ny marina amin’ ny finoana no ho velona.
18 So, too, there is a revelation from heaven of the divine wrath against every form of ungodliness and wickedness on the part of those people who, by their wicked lives, are stifling the truth.
Fa aseho avy any an-danitra ny fahatezeran’ Andriamanitra amin’ ny faharatsiana rehetra sy ny tsi-fahamarinan’ ny olona izay misakana ny fahamarinana amin’ ny fanaovan-dratsy,
19 This is so, because what can be known about God is plain to them; for God himself has made it plain.
satria izay fantatra ny amin’ Andriamanitra dia miseho ao am-pon’ ireny, fa nasehon’ Andriamanitra taminy.
20 For ever since the creation of the universe God’s invisible attributes – his everlasting power and divinity – are to be seen and studied in his works, so that people have no excuse; (aïdios )
Fa ny fombany tsy hita, dia ny heriny mandrakizay sy ny mah’ Andriamanitra Azy, dia miseho hatramin’ ny nanaovana izao tontolo izao, fa fantatra amin’ ny zavatra nataony; ka dia tsy manan-kalahatra ireo; (aïdios )
21 because, although they learned to know God, yet they did not offer him as God either praise or thanksgiving. Their speculations about him proved futile, and their undiscerning minds were darkened.
fa na dia nahalala an’ Andriamanitra aza izy, dia tsy mba nankalaza Azy toy izay miendrika ho an’ Andriamanitra, na nisaotra Azy, fa tonga zava-poana izy tamin’ ny fisainany, ary tonga maizina ny fony donto.
22 Professing to be wise, they showed themselves fools;
Nandoka tena ho hendry izy ka tonga adala,
23 and they transformed the glory of the immortal God into the likeness of mortal humans, and of birds, and beasts, and reptiles.
koa ny voninahitr’ Andriamanitra tsy mety lò dia nosoloany zavatra tahaka ny endriky ny olona mety lò sy ny vorona sy ny biby manan-tongotra efatra ary ny zavatra mandady sy mikisaka.
24 Therefore God abandoned them to impurity, letting them follow the cravings of their hearts, until they dishonored their own bodies;
Ary izany no nanoloran’ Andriamanitra azy tamin’ ny filan’ ny fony ho amin’ ny fahalotoana, dia ny nifanalany voninahitra tamin’ ny tenany avy;
25 for they had substituted a lie for the truth about God, and had reverenced and worshiped created things more than the Creator, who is to be praised for ever. Amen. (aiōn )
ary ny fahamarinan’ Andriamanitra dia nosoloany lainga, ka nanaja sy nanompo ny zavatra natao izy, fa tsy ny Mpanao, Izay isaorana mandrakizay. Amena. (aiōn )
26 That, I say, is why God abandoned them to degrading passions. Even the women among them perverted the natural use of their bodies to the unnatural;
Izany no nanoloran’ Andriamanitra azy ho amin’ ny filan-dratsy mahavoafady; fa ny vehivavy tao aminy nanova ny fanaony ho amin’ izay tsy fanaony;
27 while the men, disregarding that for which women were intended by nature, were consumed with passion for one another. Men indulged in vile practices with men, and incurred in their own persons the inevitable penalty for their perverseness.
ary tahaka izany koa ny lehilahy, fa namela ny fanao amin’ ny vehivavy izy ka maimay tamin’ ny fifampilany samy lehilahy nifanao izay mahamenatra, dia nandray tao amin’ ny tenany ny valiny izay tokony ho azy noho ny fiviliany.
28 Then, as they would not keep God before their minds, God abandoned them to depraved thoughts, so that they did all kinds of shameful things.
Ary araka ny nanaovany ny fahalalana marina an’ Andriamanitra ho tsy miendrika hotanany, dia araka izany kosa no nanoloran’ Andriamanitra azy ho amin’ ny fisainana tsy mahamendrika hanao izay zavatra tsy tokony hatao,
29 They reveled in every form of wickedness, evil, greed, vice. Their lives were full of envy, murder, quarreling, treachery, malice.
ka dia feno ny tsi-fahamarinana rehetra, ny faharatsiana, ny fieremana, ny lolompo, ― feno fialonana, vonoan-olona, fifandirana, fitaka, otri-po, ―
30 They became back-biters, slanderers, impious, insolent, boastful. They devised new sins. They disobeyed their parents.
mpibitsibitsika, mpanendrikendrika, halan’ Andriamanitra, mpampahory, mpiavonavona, mpandoka tena, mpamoron-tsain-dratsy, tsy manoa ray sy reny,
31 They were undiscerning, untrustworthy, without natural affection or pity.
tsy manam-pahalalana, tsy mitana fanekena, tsy manam-pitiavana, tsy miantra;
32 Well aware of God’s decree, that those who do such things deserve to die, not only are they guilty of them themselves, but they even applaud those who do them.
dia olona mahalala tsara ny fitsipika nomen’ Andriamanitra fa izay manao izany zavatra izany no miendrika ho faty, nefa tsy manao izany ihany izy, fa mankasitraka ny manao koa.
