< Romans 15 >

1 We, the strong, ought to take on our own shoulders the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not merely to please ourselves.
Ri uj ri kꞌo qachuqꞌabꞌ pa ri qakojobꞌal cheꞌqatoꞌ ri maj kichuqꞌabꞌ, man are ta kaqabꞌan ri kaqaj chiqawach uj.
2 Let each of us please our neighbor for our neighbor’s good, to help in the building up of their character.
Chqajujunal qabꞌanaꞌ ri kaqaj chikiwach ri qajil qatzꞌaqat xa jeriꞌ kekꞌiy pa Cristo.
3 Even the Christ did not please himself! On the contrary, as scripture says of him – ‘The reproaches of those who were reproaching you fell upon me.’
Rumal cher ri Cristo, pune are Cristo, man are ta xubꞌan ri xqaj choch areꞌ, xane are xubꞌano ri kubꞌij ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: Ri itzel taq tzij ri xkibꞌij ri winaq, chwe in xqaj wi.
4 Whatever was written in the scriptures in days gone by was written for our instruction, so that, through patient endurance, and through the encouragement drawn from the scriptures, we might hold fast to our hope.
Rumal cher ri jastaq ri xtzꞌibꞌax loq ojer, xtzꞌibꞌaxik rech kujetaꞌman chirij, rech rumal ri ayeꞌnik xuqujeꞌ ri kuꞌlibꞌal kuꞌx ri kuya ri Tzꞌibꞌatalik, are kaqilij ri ayeꞌnik.
5 And may God, the giver of this patience and this encouragement, grant you to be united in sympathy in Christ,
Ri Dios kꞌut ri kuya qakꞌaslemal xuqujeꞌ kubꞌan chaqe chi kujjeqiꞌk chuya xa jun inaꞌoj jetaq ri karaj ri Cristo Jesús.
6 so that with one heart and one voice you may praise the God and Father of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
Rech pa junamal, xa jun kibꞌan che ri ichꞌabꞌal, kiqꞌijilaꞌj ri Dios, Tataxel rech ri Ajawxel Jesucristo.
7 Therefore always receive one another as friends, just as the Christ himself received us, to the glory of God.
Rumal kꞌu riꞌ, chikꞌamawaꞌj iwibꞌ chiꞌjujunal, jetaq ri xubꞌan ri Cristo xujukꞌamawaꞌj rech kaqaya juluwem che ri Dios.
8 For I tell you that Christ, in vindication of God’s truthfulness, has become a minister of the covenant of circumcision, so that he may fulfill the promises made to our ancestors,
Rumal riꞌ kinbꞌij chiꞌwe chi ri Cristo xpe chikipatanixik ri winaq aꞌj Israel rech jeriꞌ kukꞌut ri qas tzij rech ri Dios, rech kukꞌyaqabꞌa ri utzujum loq ri Dios chike ri qatat qanan.
9 and that the Gentiles also may praise God for his mercy. As scripture says – ‘Therefore will I make acknowledgment to you among the Gentiles and sing in honor of your name.’
Rech jeriꞌ ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj kakiqꞌijilaꞌj ri Dios rumal ri utoqꞌobꞌ, jetaq ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: “Rumal riꞌ kinqꞌalajisaj na ri bꞌiꞌ la chike ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj, xuqujeꞌ kinbꞌixon na che ri bꞌiꞌ la.”
10 And again it says – ‘Rejoice, you Gentiles, with God’s people.’
Xuqujeꞌ kubꞌij: “Ri ix ri man ix aꞌj Israel taj, chixkiꞌkot kukꞌ ri winaq aꞌj Israel.”
11 And yet again – ‘Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and let all Peoples sing his praises.’
Xuqujeꞌ kubꞌij: Chiqꞌijilaꞌj ri Ajawxel iwonojel ri ix ri man ix aj Israel taj, xuqujeꞌ iwonojel ix ri ix kꞌo pa taq ri tinimit.
12 Again, Isaiah says – ‘There will be a Scion of the house of Jesse, One who is to arise to rule the Gentiles; on him will the Gentiles rest their hopes.’
Ri Isaías xuqujeꞌ kubꞌij: Katux na loq ri ukꞌaꞌmal ri Isaí, are riꞌ kawaꞌjil na chuqꞌatik tzij pa kiwiꞌ ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj. Ri winaq aꞌj Israel kakubꞌiꞌ na kikꞌuꞌx chirij.
13 May God, who inspires our hope, grant you perfect happiness and peace in your faith, until you are filled with this hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Are bꞌa ri Dios ri kuya kuꞌlibꞌal kꞌuꞌx chixunojisaj che kiꞌkotemal xuqujeꞌ jaꞌmaril iwonojel ri ixkojoninaq che Areꞌ, rech jeriꞌ kapulin ri kuꞌlibꞌal kuꞌx chiꞌwe rumal ri ukwinem ri Tyoxalaj Uxlabꞌixel.
14 I am persuaded, my friends – yes, I Paul, with regard to you – that you are yourselves full of kindness, furnished with all Christian learning, and well able to give advice to one another.
Qas tzij wachalal, wetaꞌm chi ix sibꞌalaj ixnojinaq che utzilal, xuqujeꞌ qas kꞌo iwetaꞌmabꞌal rumal riꞌ kixkwinik kiya inoꞌj chibꞌil taq iwibꞌ.
15 But in parts of this letter I have expressed myself somewhat boldly – by way of refreshing your memories –
Pune jeriꞌ xintzꞌibꞌaj we riꞌ chunaꞌtaxik chiꞌwe pa ri utoqꞌobꞌ ri Dios ri yaꞌtal chwe,
16 because of the charge with which God has entrusted me, that I should be an assistant of Christ Jesus to go to the Gentiles – that I should act as a priest of God’s good news, so that the offering up of the Gentiles may be an acceptable sacrifice, consecrated by the Holy Spirit.
rech xinux patanijel rech ri Cristo Jesús kukꞌ ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj. Are nupatan utzijoxik ri utz laj taq tzij rech ri Dios, rech jeriꞌ ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj kuꞌxik jun tyoxalaj sipanik ri kaqaj cho ri Dios.
17 It is, then, through my union with Christ Jesus that I have a proud confidence in my work for God.
Xaq jeriꞌ utz kinnaꞌ nimal rumal ri patanijik ri kinbꞌano che ri Dios, pa Cristo Jesús.
18 For I will not dare to speak of anything but what Christ has done through me to win the obedience of the Gentiles –
Man kintzijoj ta chi jun jastaq we man are ri xubꞌan ri Cristo pa nukꞌaslemal rech jeriꞌ ri winaq ri man aꞌj Israel taj koꞌpan chi retaꞌmaxik ri nimanik che ri Dios. We jastaq riꞌ nubꞌanom rukꞌ tzij xuqujeꞌ rukꞌ chak.
19 by my words and actions, through the power displayed in signs and marvels, and through the power of the Holy Spirit. And so, starting from Jerusalem and going as far as Illyria, I have told in full the good news of the Christ;
Rukꞌ sibꞌalaj nimaq taq kꞌutuꞌn, xuqujeꞌ mayijabꞌal taq jastaq rukꞌ ri ukwinem ri Uxlabꞌixel rech ri Dios. Xaq jeriꞌ, xintzijoj loq ri utz laj utzij ri Cristo xchapleꞌtaj loq pa Jerusalén xinopan kꞌa pa taq ronojel ri tinimit rech Iliria.
20 yet always with the ambition to tell the good news where Christ’s name had not previously been heard, so as to avoid building on another’s foundations.
Qas tzij wi, are rajawam na kꞌuꞌx kintzijoj ri utz laj taq tzij pa taq ri tinimit jawjeꞌ man etaꞌmatal ta wi uwach ri Cristo, rech jeriꞌ man kinwok taj jun jastaq, jawjeꞌ ri wokol chi wi jun.
21 But as scripture says – ‘They to whom he had never been proclaimed will see; and they who have never heard will understand!’
Xane rech jacha kubꞌij ri tzꞌibꞌatalik: “Ri winaq ri man xtzijox ta wi chike ri tzij, kakil na uwach, xuqujeꞌ ri man xkita ta wi ri ubꞌiꞌ, kakichꞌobꞌ na ri utzij.”
22 That is why I have so often been prevented from coming to you.
Rumal we tajin kinbꞌano, man inkwininaq taj ixnusolim.
23 But now there are no further openings for me in these parts, and I have for several years been longing to come to you whenever I may be going to Spain.
Chanim kꞌut rumal maj chi jawjeꞌ kinchakun wi waral, xuqujeꞌ sibꞌalaj urayim na kꞌuꞌx kixeꞌnsolij.
24 For my hope is to visit you on my journey, and then to be sent on my way by you, after I have first partly satisfied myself by seeing something of you.
Nuchomam kixinsolij kanoq we xineꞌ je laꞌ pa ri España. Kinwayeꞌj chi are kixsolitaj kanoq xuqujeꞌ are kikꞌowisataj ri qakiꞌkotem iwukꞌ, kinitoꞌ bꞌik rech kintaqej ri nubꞌe.
25 Just now, however, I am on my way to Jerusalem, to take help to Christ’s people there.
Chanim kꞌut kineꞌ pa ri tinimit Jerusalén keꞌnya tobꞌanik chike ri alaxik.
26 For Macedonia and Greece have been glad to make a collection for the poor among Christ’s people at Jerusalem.
Rumal cher ri qachalal aꞌj Macedonia, xuqujeꞌ ri aꞌj Acaya xkimulij jun tobꞌanik chike ri alaxik ri e mebꞌaibꞌ ri e kꞌo chikixoꞌl ri e tyoxalaj taq alaxik ri e kꞌo pa Jerusalén.
27 Yes, they were glad to do so; and indeed it is a duty which they owe to them. For the Gentile converts who have shared their spiritual blessings are in duty bound to minister to them in the things of this world.
Xkichomaj chi taqalik jewaꞌ kakibꞌano, xuqujeꞌ ketaꞌm chi ajkꞌasibꞌ kukꞌ we alaxik riꞌ. Rumal kꞌu cher we winaq man aꞌj Israel taj xkikꞌam ke ri sipanik rech ri uxlabꞌal, yaꞌtal xuqujeꞌ chi aꞌreꞌ kakiya ri jastaq ri kajawataj chike ri aꞌj Israel.
28 When I have settled this matter, and have secured for the poor at Jerusalem the enjoyment of these benefits, I will go, by way of you, to Spain.
Are kintoꞌtaj kan chubꞌanik we riꞌ, xuqujeꞌ are kayaꞌtaj kan ri sipanik chike, kinikꞌow bꞌik iwukꞌ kꞌa te riꞌ kineꞌ je laꞌ España.
29 And I know that, when I come to you, it will be with a full measure of blessing from Christ.
Wetaꞌm chi we kinopan iwukꞌ, kinkꞌam bꞌik sibꞌalaj nim tewechibꞌal rech ri utz laj utzij ri Cristo.
30 I beg you, then, friends, by Jesus Christ, our Lord, and by the love inspired by the Spirit, to join me in earnest prayer to God on my behalf.
Kinta kꞌu chiꞌwe wachalal, pa ri ubꞌiꞌ ri Ajawxel Jesucristo xuqujeꞌ pa ri uloqꞌanik ri Uxlabꞌixel, chibꞌana chꞌawem cho ri Dios pa nuwiꞌ.
31 Pray that I may be rescued from those in Judea who reject the faith, and that the help which I am taking to Jerusalem may prove acceptable to Christ’s people;
Rech man kinqaj ta pa kiqꞌabꞌ ri e bꞌanal taq kꞌax ri e kꞌo pa Judea, xuqujeꞌ rech kakꞌamawaꞌx ri tobꞌanik rech patanijik ri nukꞌamom bꞌik chike ri e Tyoxalaj taq winaq ri e kꞌo pa Jerusalén.
32 so that, God willing, I may be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and enjoy some rest among you.
Rech jeriꞌ rumal ri urayibꞌal ri Dios, kinopan iwukꞌ rukꞌ kiꞌkotemal xuqujeꞌ kinuxlan iwukꞌ jun janipa qꞌij.
33 May God, the giver of peace, be with you all. Amen.
Are ri Dios rech jaꞌmaril kakanaj kanoq iwukꞌ. Jeriꞌ.
