< Revelation 6 >
1 Then I saw the Lamb break one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four creatures crying with a voice like thunder – ‘Come.’
Ningĩ nĩndonire ũcio Gatũrũme akĩmethũra gatembe ka mbere ga tũtembe tũrĩa mũgwanja twa mũhũra. Ngĩcooka ngĩigua kĩũmbe kĩmwe gĩa ciũmbe iria inya irĩ muoyo gĩkiuga na mũgambo wagambaga ta marurumĩ atĩrĩ, “Ũka!”
2 And in my vision I saw a white horse. Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he went out conquering and to conquer.
Na niĩ ngĩrora, ngĩona mbarathi njerũ hau mbere yakwa! Ũrĩa wamĩhaicĩte aanyiitĩte ũta, nake akĩheo thũmbĩ, akiumĩra atariĩ ta mũtoorania werekeire o gũtoorania.
3 When the Lamb broke the second seal, I heard the second creature crying – ‘Come.’
Rĩrĩa Gatũrũme aamethũrire gatembe ga keerĩ, ngĩigua kĩũmbe kĩrĩa kĩrĩ muoyo gĩa keerĩ kĩoiga atĩrĩ, “Ũka!”
4 Then there went out another horse, a red horse, and to its rider was given the power to deprive the earth of peace, so that people should kill one another; and he was given a great sword.
Ningĩ gũkiumĩra mbarathi ĩngĩ, nayo yarĩ ndune mũno. Ũrĩa wamĩhaicĩte nĩaheetwo ũhoti wa kũniina thayũ kuuma thĩ, na atũme andũ mooragane. Nake akĩheo rũhiũ rwa njora rũnene.
5 When the Lamb broke the third seal, I heard the third creature crying – ‘Come.’ And in my vision I saw a black horse. Its rider held scales in his hand.
Ningĩ rĩrĩa Gatũrũme aamethũrire gatembe ga gatatũ, ngĩigua kĩũmbe kĩrĩa kĩrĩ muoyo gĩa gatatũ kĩoiga atĩrĩ, “Ũka!” Na niĩ ngĩrora, ngĩona mbarathi njirũ hau mbere yakwa! Ũrĩa wamĩhaicĩte aanyiitĩte ratiri na guoko gwake.
6 And I heard what seemed to be a voice, coming from among the four creatures, crying – ‘A quart of wheat for a silver coin, and three quarts of barley for a silver coin! But do not harm the oil and the wine.’
Ningĩ ngĩigua kĩndũ kĩarurumire ta mũgambo ũkuuma gatagatĩ-inĩ ga ciũmbe icio inya irĩ muoyo, ũkiuga atĩrĩ, “Kĩbaba kĩa ngano kiumage mũcaara wa mũthenya ũmwe, na ibaba ithatũ cia ngano ya cairi ciumage mũcara wa mũthenya ũmwe, no ndũgathũkie maguta kana ũthũkie ndibei!”
7 When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth creature crying – ‘Come.’
Ningĩ rĩrĩa Gatũrũme aamethũrire gatembe ga kana-rĩ, ngĩigua mũgambo wa kĩũmbe kĩrĩa kĩrĩ muoyo gĩa kana woiga atĩrĩ, “Ũka!”
8 And in my vision I saw a grey horse. His rider’s name was Death, and Hades rode behind him; and power was given them over the fourth part of the earth, so that they might destroy with sword and famine and death, and by means of the wild Beasts of the earth. (Hadēs )
Na niĩ ngĩrora, ngĩona mbarathi theũku hau mbere yakwa! Ũrĩa wamĩhaicĩte-rĩ, eetagwo Gĩkuũ, nake Jehanamu aamumĩte thuutha, amũkuhĩrĩirie. Nao makĩheo ũhoti wa gwatha gĩcunjĩ kĩa inya gĩa thĩ, nĩguo mooragane na rũhiũ rwa njora, na ngʼaragu, na mũthiro, o na ningĩ nyamũ iria ndĩani cia gĩthaka. (Hadēs )
9 When the Lamb opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been killed for the sake of God’s message and for the testimony which they had borne.
Ningĩ aamethũra gatembe ga gatano-rĩ, ngĩona hau rungu rwa kĩgongona maroho ma andũ arĩa mooragĩtwo nĩ ũndũ wa kiugo kĩa Ngai, na nĩ ũndũ wa ũira ũrĩa maagwatĩirie.
10 They cried in a loud voice – ‘How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, before you will give judgment and avenge our blood on all who are living on the earth?’
Nao magĩkaya na mũgambo mũnene, makĩũria atĩrĩ, “Mwathani Jehova, Wee mũtheru na wa ma, ũgũikara nginya rĩ ũtatuĩrĩire atũũri a thĩ ciira nĩguo ũrĩhĩrie thakame iitũ?”
11 Then to each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to rest yet a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and of their friends in Christ’s service who were about to be put to death, as they had been, should be complete.
Nao makĩheo o mũndũ nguo ndaaya ya rangi mwerũ, na makĩĩrwo meterere hanini, nginya mũigana wa ndungata iria maarutithanagia wĩra nacio ũhinge, na nĩo ariũ na aarĩ a Ithe witũ arĩa maarĩ mooragwo o ta ũrĩa o mooragirwo.
12 And I saw the Lamb break the sixth seal, and then there was a great earthquake. The sun became black, like sackcloth, and the moon, which was at its full, like blood.
Ningĩ ngĩrora na ngĩona aamethũra gatembe ga gatandatũ. Nakuo gũkĩgĩa na gĩthingithia kĩnene. Narĩo riũa rĩkĩgarũrũka, rĩkĩira ta nguo ya ikũnia ĩtumĩtwo na guoya wa mbũri, naguo mweri wothe ũkĩgarũrũka, ũgĩtunĩha ta thakame,
13 The stars of the heavens fell to the earth, as when a fig tree, shaken by a strong wind, drops its unripe fruit.
nacio njata cia igũrũ ikĩgũa thĩ, o ta ũrĩa ngũyũ iria thaatu ciitĩkaga kuuma mũkũyũ-inĩ rĩrĩa wainainio nĩ rũhuho rũnene.
14 The heavens disappeared like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place.
Narĩo igũrũ rĩkĩeherio o ta ũrĩa ibuku rĩa gĩkũnjo rĩkũnjagwo, nacio irĩma ciothe na icigĩrĩra ikĩeherio ikiuma kũndũ gwacio.
15 Then all the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the generals, and the rich, and the powerful, and every slave and free person, hid themselves in the caves and under the rocks of the mountains;
Nao athamaki a thĩ, na anene, na anene a thigari, na itonga, na andũ arĩa marĩ hinya, na ngombo ciothe, na andũ arĩa othe eyathi, makĩĩhitha ngurunga-inĩ, na gatagatĩ ka ndwaro cia mahiga ma irĩma.
16 and they are crying to the mountains and the rocks – ‘Fall on us, and hide us from the eyes of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb,
Nao nĩmeeraga irĩma na ndwaro cia mahiga atĩrĩ, “Tũgwĩrei, mũtũhithe twehere ũthiũ-inĩ wa ũcio ũrĩa ũikarĩire gĩtĩ kĩa ũnene, na kuuma kũrĩ mangʼũrĩ ma Gatũrũme!
17 for the great day of their wrath is come, and who can stand to meet it?’
Nĩgũkorwo mũthenya ũrĩa mũnene wa mangʼũrĩ mao nĩmũkinyu, nake nũũ ũngĩhota kũwĩtiiria?”
