Psalms 139
1 For the leader. Of David, a psalm. O Lord, you search and know me;
上主，您鑒察我，也認清我：
2 when I sit, when I rise you know it, you perceive my thoughts from afar.
我一舉一動，您全然認清我，您由遠處已明徹我的心思。
3 When I walk, when I lie you sift it, familiar with all my ways.
我或行走或躺臥，您已先知，我的一切行動，您都熟悉。
4 There is not a word on my tongue, but see! Lord, you know it all.
我的話尚未發言，上主，您已全都知曉。
5 Behind and before you beset me, upon me you lay your hand.
您將我前後包圍，用您的聖手將我蔭庇。
6 It’s too wonderful for me to know too lofty I cannot attain it.
這是超越我理智的奇事，是我不能明白的妙理。
7 Whither shall I go from your spirit? Or whither shall I flee from your face?
我往何處，才能脫離您的神能？我去那裏，才能逃避您的面容？
我若上升於高天，您已在那裏，我若下降於陰府，您也在那裏。 (Sheol h7585)
9 If I lift up the wings of the morning and fly to the end of the sea,
我若飛往日出的地方，我若住在海洋的西方，
10 there also your hand would grasp me, and your right hand take hold of me.
您的雙手仍在那裏引導著我，您的聖手還在那裏扶持著我。
11 If I say, “Let the darkness cover me, and night be the light about me,”
我若說：願黑暗把我籠罩，光明變成黑暗將我圍包；
12 The dark is not dark for you, but night is as light as the day.
黑暗與黑夜對您並不矇矓，黑夜與白晝對您一樣光明。
13 For you did put me together; in my mother’s womb you did weave me.
您造成了我的五臟和六腑，您在我成胎之中締結了我。
14 I give you praise for my fashioning so full of awe, so wonderful. Your works are wonderful. You knew me right well;
上主，我讚美您，因我被造驚奇神奧；您的工作千奇萬妙！我的生命，您全知曉。
15 my bones were not hidden from you, when I was made in secret, and woven in the depths of the earth.
我何時在暗中構形，我何時在母胎造成，我的骨骸您全知情，
16 Your eyes saw all my days: they stood on your book every one written down, before they were fashioned, while none of them yet was mine.
我尚在母胎，您已親眼看見，世人的歲月尚未來到以前，都已全部記錄在冊表，都已全由您預先定好。
17 But how far, O God, beyond measure are your thoughts! How mighty their sum!
天主，您的策略，對我何其深奧！您策略的總數又是何其繁浩！
18 Should I count, they are more than the sand. When I wake, I am still with you.
我若去計數，而它們多於沙粒；設若數到底，我仍同您在一起。
19 Will you slay the wicked, O God? And remove from me the bloodthirsty,
天主，恨不得您能殺掉惡人，叫流人血的兇遠離我身！
20 who maliciously defy you and take your name in vain.
他們無法無天地褻瀆您，他們不忠不義地攻擊您。
21 Do I not hate those who hate you, Lord? Do I not loathe those who resist you?
上主，憎恨您的人，我怎能不痛惡？上主，背叛您的人，我怎能不厭惡？
22 With perfect hatred I hate them, I count them my enemies.
我對他們深惡痛棄，視他們為我的仇敵。
23 Search me, O God, know my heart: test me, and know my thoughts,
天主，求您檢察我，洞知我的心曲；天主，求您考驗我，明悉我的思慮。
24 and see if guile be in me; and lead me in the way everlasting.
求您察看我，我是否走入岐途，求您引導我邁向上永生的道路。
