Psalms 107
1 Give thanks to the Lord for his goodness for his kindness endures forever.
Mshukuruni Bwana, kwa kuwa yeye ni mwema, upendo wake wadumu milele.
2 Let this be the song of the ransomed, whom the Lord has redeemed from distress,
Waliokombolewa wa Bwana na waseme hivi, wale aliowaokoa kutoka mkono wa adui,
3 gathering them from all lands, east, west, north, and south.
wale aliowakusanya kutoka nchi mbalimbali, kutoka mashariki na magharibi, kutoka kaskazini na kusini.
4 In the wastes of the desert some wandered, finding no way to a city inhabited.
Baadhi yao walitangatanga jangwani, hawakuona njia ya kuwafikisha mji ambao wangeweza kuishi.
5 Full of hunger and thirst, their spirit failed.
Walikuwa na njaa na kiu, nafsi zao zikadhoofika.
6 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses,
Ndipo walipomlilia Bwana katika shida yao, naye akawaokoa kutoka taabu yao.
7 guiding them straight on the way, till they reached an inhabited city.
Akawaongoza kwa njia iliyo sawa hadi mji ambao wangeweza kuishi.
8 Let them thank the Lord for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people;
Basi na wamshukuru Bwana kwa upendo wake usiokoma, na kwa matendo yake ya ajabu kwa wanadamu,
9 for the thirsty he satisfies, and the hungry he fills with good things.
kwa maana yeye humtosheleza mwenye kiu, na kumshibisha mwenye njaa kwa vitu vyema.
10 Some sat in darkness and gloom prisoners in irons and misery,
Wengine walikaa gizani na katika huzuni kuu, wafungwa wakiteseka katika minyororo,
11 for rebelling against God’s word, and spurning the Most High’s counsel.
kwa sababu walikuwa wameasi dhidi ya maneno ya Mungu na kudharau shauri la Aliye Juu Sana.
12 Their heart was bowed with toil; there was no one to help when they stumbled.
Aliwatumikisha kwa kazi ngumu; walijikwaa na hapakuwepo yeyote wa kuwasaidia.
13 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses.
Ndipo walipomlilia Bwana katika shida yao, naye akawaokoa kutoka taabu yao.
14 Out of darkness and gloom he brought them, and burst their chains.
Akawatoa katika giza na huzuni kuu na akavunja minyororo yao.
15 Let them praise the Lord for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people.
Basi na wamshukuru Bwana kwa upendo wake usiokoma, na kwa matendo yake ya ajabu kwa wanadamu,
16 For he shattered the gates of bronze, and broke bars of iron.
kwa kuwa yeye huvunja malango ya shaba na kukata mapingo ya chuma.
17 Some were sick from their wicked ways, and suffering because of their sins.
Wengine wakawa wapumbavu kutokana na uasi wao, wakapata mateso kwa sababu ya uovu wao.
18 All manner of food they hated; they had come to the gates of death.
Wakachukia kabisa vyakula vyote, wakakaribia malango ya mauti.
19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses.
Ndipo walipomlilia Bwana katika shida yao, naye akawaokoa kutoka taabu yao.
20 He sent his word and healed them, and delivered their life from the pit.
Akalituma neno lake na kuwaponya, akawaokoa kutoka maangamizo yao.
21 Let them praise the Lord for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people.
Basi na wamshukuru Bwana kwa upendo wake usiokoma, na kwa matendo yake ya ajabu kwa wanadamu.
22 Let them offer to him thankofferings, and with joy tell what things he has done.
Na watoe dhabihu za kushukuru, na wasimulie matendo yake kwa nyimbo za furaha.
23 Some crossed the sea in ships, doing business in great waters.
Wengine walisafiri baharini kwa meli, walikuwa wafanyabiashara kwenye maji makuu.
24 They have seen what the Lord can do, and his wonderful deeds on the deep.
Waliziona kazi za Bwana, matendo yake ya ajabu kilindini.
25 At his command rose a tempest, which lifted the waves on high.
Kwa maana alisema na kuamsha tufani iliyoinua mawimbi juu.
26 Up to heaven they went, down to the depths; their courage failed them.
Yakainuka juu mbinguni, yakashuka chini hadi vilindini, katika hatari hii ujasiri wao uliyeyuka.
27 They staggered and reeled like drunkards; all their skills useless.
Walipepesuka na kuyumbayumba kama walevi, ujanja wao ukafikia ukomo.
28 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses.
Ndipo walipomlilia Bwana katika shida yao, naye akawatoa kwenye taabu yao.
29 He stilled the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed.
Akatuliza dhoruba kwa mnongʼono, mawimbi ya bahari yakatulia.
30 They were glad, because it was quiet; they were led to the haven they longed for.
Walifurahi ilipokuwa shwari, naye akawaongoza hadi bandari waliyoitamani.
31 Let them praise the Lord, for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people.
Basi na wamshukuru Bwana kwa upendo wake usiokoma, na kwa matendo yake ya ajabu kwa wanadamu.
32 Where the people assemble, extol him, and praise him in council of elders.
Na wamtukuze yeye katika kusanyiko la watu, na wamsifu katika baraza la wazee.
33 He turns streams into a wilderness, springs of water into thirsty land,
Yeye aligeuza mito kuwa jangwa, chemchemi za maji zitiririkazo kuwa ardhi yenye kiu,
34 fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the sin of the people.
nchi izaayo ikawa ya chumvi isiyofaa, kwa sababu ya uovu wa wale walioishi humo.
35 A desert he makes pools of water, a land of drought into springs of water.
Aligeuza jangwa likawa madimbwi ya maji, nayo ardhi kame kuwa chemchemi za maji zitiririkazo;
36 He settles the hungry therein, they establish a city to live in.
aliwaleta wenye njaa wakaishi humo, nao wakajenga mji wangeweza kuishi.
37 They sow fields and plant vineyards, which furnish a fruitful yield.
Walilima mashamba na kupanda mizabibu, nayo ikazaa matunda mengi,
38 By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he lets not their cattle decrease.
Mungu aliwabariki, hesabu yao ikaongezeka sana, wala hakuruhusu mifugo yao kupungua.
39 Yet when they are bowed and diminished by oppression, misfortune, or sorrow,
Kisha hesabu yao ilipungua, na walinyenyekeshwa kwa kuonewa, maafa na huzuni.
40 he pours contempt upon princes, and on trackless wastes leads them astray
Yeye ambaye huwamwagia dharau wakuu, aliwafanya watangetange nyikani isiyo na njia.
41 He lifts the poor out of misery, and makes families fruitful as flocks.
Lakini yeye aliwainua wahitaji katika taabu zao, na kuongeza jamaa zao kama makundi ya kondoo.
42 At this sight shall the upright be glad, and all wicked mouths shall be stopped.
Wanyofu wataona na kufurahi, lakini waovu wote watafunga vinywa vyao.
43 Let those who are wise observe this, and consider the love of the Lord
Yeyote aliye na hekima, ayasikie mambo haya, na atafakari upendo mkuu wa Bwana.
