Luke 4
1 On returning from the Jordan, full of the Holy Spirit, Jesus was led by the power of the Spirit through the wilderness for forty days, tempted by the devil.
౧యేసు పరిశుద్ధాత్మతో నిండి యొర్దాను నది నుండి తిరిగి వచ్చాడు. పరిశుద్ధాత్మ ఆయనను అరణ్యంలోకి నడిపించాడు.
2 All that time he ate nothing; and, when it was over, he became hungry.
౨అక్కడ నలభై రోజులు సాతాను ఆయనను విషమ పరీక్షలకు గురి చేశాడు. ఆ రోజుల్లో ఆయన ఏమీ తినలేదు. ఆ తరువాత ఆయనకు ఆకలి వేసింది.
3 So the devil said to him, “If you are God’s Son, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread.”
౩సాతాను ఆయనతో, “నీవు దేవుడి కుమారుడివైతే, ఈ రాయిని రొట్టె అయిపోమని ఆజ్ఞాపించు” అన్నాడు.
4 And Jesus answered him, “Scripture says – ‘It is not on bread alone that a person is to live.’”
౪యేసు, “‘మనిషి రొట్టె వలన మాత్రమే బతకడు’ అని రాసి ఉంది” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు.
5 And the devil led Jesus up, and showing him in a single moment all the kingdoms of the earth, said to him,
౫అప్పుడు సాతాను ఆయనను ఎత్తయిన కొండ మీదికి తీసుకు వెళ్ళి, ప్రపంచ రాజ్యాలన్నీ ఒక్క క్షణంలో ఆయనకు చూపించాడు.
6 “I will give you all this power, and the splendor of them; for it has been given into my hands and I give it to whom I wish.
౬“ఈ రాజ్యాధికారమంతా వాటి వైభవాలతో పాటు నీకిస్తాను. దానిపై అధికారం నాదే. అది ఎవరికివ్వడం నా ఇష్టమో వారికిస్తాను.
7 If you worship me, it will all be yours.”
౭కాబట్టి నీవు నాకు మొక్కి నన్ను పూజిస్తే ఇదంతా నీదే” అని ఆయనతో చెప్పాడు.
8 And Jesus answered him, “Scripture says – ‘You should worship the Lord your God, and worship him only.’”
౮అయితే యేసు, “‘నీ దేవుడైన ప్రభువును పూజించి ఆయనను మాత్రమే సేవించాలి’ అని రాసి ఉంది” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు.
9 The devil next led him into Jerusalem, and, placing him on the parapet of the Temple, said, “If you are God’s Son throw yourself down from here,
౯ఆ తరువాత సాతాను యేసును యెరూషలేముకు తీసుకువెళ్ళి దేవాలయ గోపురంపై ఉంచి, “నీవు దేవుని కుమారుడివైతే ఇక్కడ నుండి కిందికి దూకు.
10 for scripture says – ‘He will give his angels commands about you, to guard you safely,’
౧౦‘దేవుడు నిన్ను కాపాడడానికి నిన్ను గురించి తన దూతలకు ఆజ్ఞాపిస్తాడు.
11 And ‘On their hands they will lift you up, otherwise you might strike your foot against a stone.’”
౧౧నీ పాదాలకు రాయి తగలకుండా వారు నిన్ను తమ చేతుల్లో ఎత్తిపట్టుకుంటారు’ అని రాసి ఉంది గదా,” అని ఆయనతో అన్నాడు.
12 But Jesus answered him, “It is said – ‘You must not tempt the Lord your God.’”
౧౨అయితే యేసు, “‘నీ దేవుడైన ప్రభువును పరీక్షించకూడదు’ అని రాసి ఉంది” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు.
13 When he had tried every kind of temptation, the devil left Jesus, until another opportunity.
౧౩సాతాను, యేసును అన్ని రకాలుగా పరీక్షించడం ముగించి మరొక అవకాశం వచ్చేవరకూ ఆయనను విడిచి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.
14 Moved by the power of the Spirit, Jesus returned to Galilee. Reports about him spread through all that region;
౧౪అప్పుడు యేసు పరిశుద్ధాత్మ శక్తితో గలిలయకు తిరిగి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు. ఆయనను గురించిన సమాచారం ఆ ప్రాంతమంతా వ్యాపించింది.
15 and he began to teach in their synagogues, and was honored by everyone.
౧౫ఆయన వారి సమాజ మందిరాల్లో బోధిస్తుంటే అందరూ ఆయనను మెచ్చుకున్నారు.
16 Coming to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, Jesus, as was his custom, went on the Sabbath into the synagogue, and stood up to read the scriptures.
౧౬ఒక రోజు తాను పెరిగిన నజరేతుకు ఆయన వచ్చాడు. తన అలవాటు ప్రకారం విశ్రాంతి దినాన సమాజ మందిరానికి వెళ్ళి చదవడానికి నిలబడ్డాడు.
17 He was given the book of the prophet Isaiah; and Jesus opened the book and found the place where it says –
౧౭యెషయా ప్రవక్త గ్రంథం వారు ఆయనకు అందించారు. ఆయన గ్రంథం విప్పితే,
18 ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me, for he has consecrated me to bring good news to the poor, he has sent me to proclaim release to captives and restoration of sight to the blind, to set the oppressed at liberty,
౧౮“ప్రభువు ఆత్మ నా మీద ఉన్నాడు. పేదలకు సువార్త ప్రకటించడానికి ఆయన నన్ను అభిషేకించాడు. చెరలో ఉన్న వారికి స్వేచ్ఛ, గుడ్డివారికి చూపు వస్తుందని ప్రకటించడానికీ అణగారిన వారిని విడిపించడానికీ,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’
౧౯ప్రభువు అనుగ్రహ సంవత్సరం ప్రకటించడానికీ ఆయన నన్ను పంపాడు” అని రాసిన చోటు ఆయనకు దొరికింది.
20 Then, closing the book and returning it to the attendant, he sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him,
౨౦ఆయన గ్రంథం మూసి సమాజ మందిర పరిచారకునికి ఇచ్చి కూర్చున్నాడు.
21 and Jesus began, “This very day this passage has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
౨౧సమాజ మందిరంలో ఉన్న వారంతా ఆయనను తేరి చూశారు. “మీరు వింటూ ఉండగానే ఈ లేఖనం నెరవేరింది” అని ఆయన వారితో అన్నాడు.
22 All who were present spoke well of him, and were astonished at the beautiful words that fell from his lips. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?” they asked.
౨౨అందరూ ఆయనను గురించి గొప్పగా చెప్పుకున్నారు. ఆయన నోటి నుంచి వచ్చే దయాపూరితమైన మాటలకు ఆశ్చర్యపడ్డారు. “ఈయన యోసేపు కొడుకు గదా?” అని చెప్పుకున్నారు.
23 “Doubtless,” said Jesus, “you will remind me of the saying – ‘Doctor, cure yourself;’ and you will say ‘Do here in your own country all that we have heard that has been done at Capernaum.’
౨౩ఆయన వారితో, “వైద్యుడా, నిన్ను నీవే బాగు చేసుకో” అనే సామెత నాకు చెప్పి, కపెర్నహూములో నీవు చేసిన వాటన్నిటినీ మేము విన్నాం, వాటిని ఈ నీ సొంత ఊరులో కూడా చేయమని మీరు తప్పకుండా నాతో అంటారు” అన్నాడు.
24 I tell you,” he continued, “that no prophet is acceptable in his own country.
౨౪ఆయన ఇంకా ఇలా అన్నాడు, “ఏ ప్రవక్తనూ తన సొంత ఊరి వారు అంగీకరించరు.
25 There were, doubtless, many widows in Israel in Elijah’s days, when the heavens were closed for three years and six months, and a severe famine prevailed throughout the country;
౨౫ఏలీయా ప్రవక్త రోజుల్లో ఇశ్రాయేలు దేశంలో చాలామంది వితంతువులు ఉన్నారు. మూడున్నర సంవత్సరాలు ఆకాశం మూసుకుపోయి దేశమంతా తీవ్రమైన కరువు రాగా,
26 and yet it was not to one of them that Elijah was sent, but to a widow at Zarephath in Sidonia.
౨౬దేవుడు ఏలీయాను ఎవరి దగ్గరకీ పంపలేదు. సీదోను ప్రాంతంలో సారెపతు అనే ఊరిలో ఉన్న ఒక వితంతువు దగ్గరకే పంపాడు.
27 And there were many lepers in Israel in the time of the prophet Elisha, yet it was not one of them who was made clean, but Naaman the Syrian.”
౨౭ఎలీషా ప్రవక్త కాలంలో ఇశ్రాయేలులో ఎందరో కుష్టురోగులున్నా, సిరియా వాడైన నయమాను తప్ప ఎవరూ బాగుపడలేదు.”
28 All the people in the synagogue, as they listened to this, became enraged.
౨౮సమాజ మందిరంలో ఉన్నవారంతా ఆ మాటలు విని
29 Starting up, they drove Jesus out of the town, and led him to the brow of the hill on which their town stood, intending to hurl him down.
౨౯ఆగ్రహంతో నిండిపోయి, లేచి ఆయనను ఊరి బయటకు తోసుకుపోయి కొండ కొమ్ము వరకూ తీసికెళ్ళారు. వారి ఊరు కొండ పైన ఉంది. ఆయనను అక్కడ నుండి పడదోయాలనుకున్నారు.
30 But he passed through the middle of the crowd and went on his way.
౩౦అయితే ఆయన వారి మధ్యనుంచి తప్పుకుని తన దారిన వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.
31 Then Jesus went down to Capernaum, a city in Galilee. On the Sabbath he taught the people.
౩౧అప్పుడాయన గలిలయ ప్రాంతంలోని కపెర్నహూము అనే ఊరు వచ్చి, విశ్రాంతి దినాన వారికి బోధించాడు.
32 They were amazed at his teaching, because his words were spoken with authority.
౩౨వారాయన బోధకు ఆశ్చర్యపడ్డారు. ఎందుకంటే ఆయన సాధికారికంగా మాట్లాడాడు.
33 In the synagogue there was a man with the spirit of a foul demon in him, who called out loudly,
౩౩ఆ సమాజ మందిరంలో అపవిత్ర దయ్యపు ఆత్మ పట్టిన వాడొకడున్నాడు. అతడు బిగ్గరగా ఇలా కేకలు వేశాడు,
34 “Stop! What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!”
౩౪“నజరేతువాడా యేసూ, మాతో నీకేం పని? మమ్మల్ని నాశనం చేయడానికి వచ్చావా? నీవెవరో నాకు తెలుసు. నీవు దేవుని పరిశుద్ధుడివి.”
35 But Jesus rebuked the demon. “Be silent! Come out from him,” he said. The demon flung the man down in the middle of the people, and then came out from him, without causing him further harm.
౩౫యేసు, “ఊరుకో! ఇతనిలో నుండి బయటకు రా” అని దయ్యాన్ని ఆజ్ఞాపించాడు. దయ్యం అతణ్ణి వారి మధ్యలో కింద పడేసి అతనికి ఏ హానీ చేయకుండా అతనిలో నుండి బయటికి వచ్చేసింది.
36 And they were all lost in amazement, and kept saying to one another, “What words are these? For he gives his commands to the foul spirits with a marvelous authority, and they come out.”
౩౬అందరూ ఆశ్చర్య పడ్డారు. “ఇది ఎలాటి మాట, ఈయన అధికారంతో ప్రభావంతో దయ్యాలకు ఆజ్ఞాపిస్తుంటే అవి బయటికి వచ్చేస్తున్నాయి” అని ఒకరితో ఒకరు చెప్పుకున్నారు.
37 And rumors about Jesus traveled through every place in the region.
౩౭అప్పుడు ఆయనను గురించిన సమాచారం ఆ చుట్టుపక్కల ప్రాంతమంతా పాకిపోయింది.
38 On leaving the synagogue, Jesus went into Simon’s house. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a severe attack of fever, and they asked Jesus to cure her.
౩౮ఆయన సమాజ మందిరం నుండి, సీమోను ఇంటికి వెళ్ళాడు. సీమోను అత్త తీవ్రమైన జ్వరంతో బాధపడుతూ ఉంది. ఆమెను బాగు చేయాలని వారాయన్ని బతిమిలాడారు.
39 Bending over her, he rebuked the fever; the fever left her, and she immediately got up and began to take care of them.
౩౯ఆయన ఆమె దగ్గర నిలబడి జ్వరాన్ని మందలించగానే జ్వరం ఆమెను విడిచింది. వెంటనే ఆమె లేచి వారికి సేవ చేయసాగింది.
40 At sunset, all who had friends suffering from various diseases took them to Jesus; and he placed his hands on everyone of them and cured them.
౪౦పొద్దుగుంకుతున్నపుడు అనేక రకాల జబ్బులున్న వారిని యేసు దగ్గరికి తెచ్చారు. వారిలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరి మీదా ఆయన చేతులుంచి బాగు చేశాడు.
41 And even demons came out from many people, screaming ‘You are the Son of God.’ Jesus rebuked them, and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
౪౧వారిలో చాలామందిలో నుండి దయ్యాలు, “నీవు దేవుని కుమారుడివి” అని కేకలు వేస్తూ బయటికి వెళ్ళిపోయాయి. ఆయన క్రీస్తు అని వాటికి తెలుసు కాబట్టి ఆయన వాటిని గద్దించి వాటిని మాట్లాడనివ్వలేదు.
42 At daybreak, Jesus went out and walked to a lonely spot. But crowds of people began to look for him; and they came to where he was and tried to detain him and prevent his leaving them.
౪౨తెల్లవారినప్పుడు ఆయన బయలుదేరి ఒక ఏకాంత స్థలానికి వెళ్ళాడు. ప్రజలు గుంపులుగా ఆయనను వెదుకుతూ ఆయన ఉన్న చోటికి వచ్చారు. తమ దగ్గర నుండి వెళ్ళిపోకుండా ఆయనను ఆపాలని చూశారు.
43 Jesus, however, said to them, “I must take the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns too, for that was why I was sent.”
౪౩అయితే ఆయన, “నేనింకా చాలా ఊళ్ళలో దేవుని రాజ్య సువార్తను ప్రకటించాలి. దీని కోసమే దేవుడు నన్ను పంపాడు” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
44 And he continued to make his proclamation in the synagogues of Judea.
౪౪ఆపైన ఆయన యూదయ ప్రాంతమంతటా ఉన్న సమాజ మందిరాల్లో ప్రకటిస్తూ వచ్చాడు.
