< John 5 >

1 Sometime after this there was a Jewish Festival; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Gwejire ogwo gwabha gwabheyeyo amalya Gabhayaudi, naYesu nalinya okugenda Yerusalemu.
2 There is in Jerusalem, near the sheep-gate, a bath with five colonnades around it. It is called in Hebrew ‘Bethesda.’
Na eyo Yerusalemu lyaliga liliyo litanga kumulyango gwajinama, linu lyaliga ditogwa munyaika ye Chiebrania Bethzatha, nalyo lili nebhuyumba bhitanu.
3 In these colonnades a large number of sick people were lying – blind, lame, and crippled.
Echise chinene cha bhalwaye chaliga chilimo abhaofu, abhalema, amwi nabhakomboleke bhaliga bhamamile mu chiyumba.
4
Kulwejo, uliya aliga wo bhutangasi okwingila Munda ya manji gachali kufulungulwa akolele omuwanga okusoka ku chonachona chinu aliga chimugwatile kumwanya ogwo.
5 One man who was there had been crippled for thirty-eight years.
No munu umwi aliga alwaye kwo mwanya gwo myaka makuni gastu na munana aliga munda ye biyumba.
6 Jesus saw the man lying there, and, finding that he had been in this state a long time, said to him, “Do you wish to be cured?”
Yesu ejile amulola amamile munda ye bhiyumba ejile amenya ati amamile ao kwo mwanya mulela Yesu amubwiliye ati, “Mbe owenda okubhayana muwanga?”
7 “I have no one, Sir,” the sick man answered, “to put me into the bath when there is a troubling of the water, and, while I am getting to it, someone else steps down before me.”
Uliya omulwaye nasubya ati, “Lata bhugenyi ntali na munu wo kuntula mwitanga omwanya amanji agaseluka. Omwanya gunu enilegeja okwingila omunu oundi katangatila.”
8 “Stand up,” said Jesus, “take up your mat, and walk.”
Yesu namubwila ati, “Imuka na witwike ebhimamilo byao ulibhate.”
9 The man was cured immediately, and took up his mat and began walking.
Ao nao uliya omunu nabha muwanga, na gega obhulili bwaye na libhata. No lusiku lwaliga olusiku lwa isabhato.
10 Now it was the Sabbath. So the religious authorities said to the man who had been cured, “This is the Sabbath; you must not carry your mat.”
Kutyo Abhaaudi nibhamubya uliya omunu unu aosibwe, “Lelo ni lusiku lwa Isabhato, na kuganyibwe okugega ebhimamilo Chao.”
11 “The man who cured me,” he answered, “said to me ‘Take up your mat and walk.’”
Nasubya ati, omwene amwosha niwe ambwila, “Nugege echimamilo Chao na ulibhate.”
12 “Who was it,” they asked, “that said to you ‘Take up your mat and walk’?”
Nibhamubhusha, “Ni niga unu akubwila 'Ugege echimamilo chao na ulibhate?'”
13 But the man who had been restored did not know who it was; for Jesus had moved away, because there was a crowd there.
Kubha oyo, aoleke atamumenyele kwokubha Yesu aliga asokeleyo kwa imbisike. Kwo kubha bhaliga bhanu bhafu olubhala olwo.
14 Afterward Jesus found the man in the Temple Courts, and said to him, “You are cured now; do not sin again, or something worse may happen to you.”
Yesu namusanga uliya omunu mu yekalu na mwibwila ati, “Lola waolele! “Usige okukola bhibhi Lindi wasiga emisango mibhibhi muno.”
15 The man went away, and told the authorities that it was Jesus who had cured him.
Omunu uyo nagenda na nabhabwila Abhayaudi ati Yesu niwe anyiulisishe
16 And that was why they began to persecute Jesus – because he did things of this kind on the Sabbath.
Kutyo kwo kubha ye misango ejo Abhayaudi nibhamunyasha Yes, kwo kubha akolele emisango jinu ku lusiku lwa isabhato.
17 But Jesus replied, “My Father works to this very hour, and I work also.”
Yesu namubwila ati, “Lata wani kakola emilimu nolwo woli nanye enikola emilimu.”
18 This made the authorities all the more eager to kill him, because not only was he doing away with the Sabbath, but he actually called God his own Father – putting himself on an equality with God.
Kwo kubha Abhayaudi nibheyongesha okumulonda koleleki bhamwite ntali kwo kubha anyamuye isabhato, nawe kwo kumubhilikila Nyamuanga esemwene waye, nelinganya na Nyamuanga.
19 So Jesus made this further reply, “In truth I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself; he does only what he sees the Father doing; whatever the Father does, the Son does also.
Yesu namusubya ati, “Nichimali, chimali, Omwana atakutula okukola chinu chona chona atali chinu echo akolele kwi semwene waye bhinu kakola, kwo kubha chona chona Lata chinu akolele nicho no Omwana kaja okukola.
20 For the Father loves his Son, and shows him everything that he is doing; and he will show him still greater things – so that you will be filled with wonder.
Kwo kubha Lata endele omwanana kamwelesha bhuli chinu kakola na alimwelesha emisango eminene kukila jinu koleleki atimutang'ang'ale.”
21 For, just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whom he pleases.
Kwo kubha kutyo Lata kabhasulula abhafuye na bhayana obhuanga ni kwo kutyo Omwana ona kamuyana obhuanga wona wona unu Kamwenda.
22 The Father himself does not judge any one, but has entrusted the work of judging entirely to his Son,
Kwo kubha Lata atakulamula wona wona, nawe ayaye omwana okulamula.
23 so that everyone may honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. The person who does not honour the Son fails to honour the Father who sent him.
Koleleki omwana abhone echibhalo Omwana koleleki omwana bhamuyanile echibhalo Lata. Unu atakumuyana echibhalo omwana kamuyana echibhalo Lata unu antumile.
24 In truth I tell you that the person who listens to my message and believes him who sent me, has eternal life, and does not come under condemnation, but has already passed out of death into life. (aiōnios g166)
Nichimali, Nichimali, unu kongwa omusango gwani no kumwikilisha unu antumile anabho obhuanga bwa kajanende atalija kuntambala. Kulwejo, alabhile okusoka mu kufwa no kwingila mu bhuanga. (aiōnios g166)
25 In truth I tell you that a time is coming, indeed it is already here, when the dead will listen to the voice of the Son of God, and when those who listen will live.
Nichimali, chimali, enibhabwila ati omwanya oguja na woli gulio abhafuye bhalyungwa lilaka lyo Mwana wa Nyamuanga, na bhona bhalyungwa bhalilama.
26 For, just as the Father has inherent life within him, so also he has granted to the Son to have inherent life within him;
Kwo kubha kutyo Lata ali no bhuanga munda yae omwene,
27 and, because he is Son of Man, he has also given him authority to act as judge.
Kubha amuyaye Omwana kubha no bhuanga munda yae, na Lata amuyaye Omwana obhuinga koleleki alamule kwo kubha ni Mwana wo Munu.
28 Do not wonder at this; for the time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice,
Mwasinga kutang'ang'ala na linu kwo kubha omwanya oguja bhanu bhafuye bhona bhalimo mufwa bhalyungwa lilaka lyaye.
29 and will come out – those who have done good rising to life, and those who have lived evil lives rising for condemnation.
Nabho bhanu bhalisoka anja: kubhanu bhakolanga ebye kisi bhalisulukila ku bhuanga, na bhanu bhakolanga echibhibhi bhalisulukila mu ntambala
30 I can do nothing of myself; I judge as I am taught; and the judgment that I give is just, because my aim is not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
Nitakutula kukila chinu chona chona okusoka kwanye omwene. Alabha enungwa, nikwo kutyo enilamula no kulamula kwani kwimiliko kwo kubha nitakuyenja bhinu enenda anye, nawe unu antumile.
31 “If I bear testimony to myself, my testimony is not trustworthy;
Alabha nikebhambalila omwene, obhubhambasi bhani bhutabheye bha chimali.
32 it is another who bears testimony to me, and I know that the testimony which he bears to me is trustworthy.
Ali oundi oyo kebhambalila ku mwene nenimenya obhubhambasi bhunu kambalila ni bwe chimali.
33 You have yourselves sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.
Mwatumile ku Yohana omwene nambambalila echimali.
34 But the testimony which I receive is not from people; I am saying this for your salvation.
Nolwo kutyo, obhubhambasi obhoenilamila bhutakusoka kumwana munu. Enaika jinu koleleki mukisibwe.
35 He was the Lamp that was burning and shining, and you were ready to rejoice, for a time, in his light.
Yohana aliga ni itala eyo yaliga niyaka na kung'ala na mwaliga muli na likondelelwa kwo mwanya mutoto bwelu bwaye.
36 But the testimony which I have is of greater weight than John’s; for the work that the Father has given me to carry out – the work that I am doing – is in itself proof that the Father has sent me as his messenger.
Obhubhambasi bhunu nilinabwo no bhukulu kukila bhuliya obwa Yohana, ku milimu jinu Lata anaye okukumalisha, emilimu jinu enikola ejinyimako ejo kubambalila kubha Lata antumile.
37 The Father who has sent me has himself borne testimony to me. You have neither listened to his voice, not seen his form;
Lata unu antumile omwene kanyimako anye. Mchalinga kungwa obhulaka bwae nolwo kulola olususo lwae kumwanya gwona gwona.
38 and you have not taken his message home to your hearts, because you do not believe him whom he sent as his messenger.
Mutana misango gwae gunu gwikaye kwimwe kwo kubha mutakwilisha unu antumile.
39 You search the scriptures, because you think that you find in them immortal life; and, though it is those scriptures that bear testimony to me, (aiōnios g166)
Omuyenja mu mandiko omwichula muda yeye muno bhuanga bwa kajanende, na ganu amandiko aganyimako emisango jani. (aiōnios g166)
40 you refuse to come to me to have life.
Mutakwenda kuja kwanye koleleki mubhone obhuanga bwa kajanende.
41 “I do not receive honor from people,
Nitakulamila jikuma okusoka ku bhanu,
42 but I know this of you, that you have not the love of God in your hearts.
Nawe nimenyele kubha mutali lyenda na Nyamuanga munda yemwe emwe abhene
43 I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me; if another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
Nijile kwa lisina lya Lata want, mutakutula kundamila. Alabha oundiakaja kwa lisina lyaye mukamulamiye.
44 How can you believe in me, when you receive honor from one another and do not desire the honor which comes from the only God?
Mbe omutula kutiki okwikilisha emwe bhanu omuyabwa echibhalo okusoka ku bhuli umwi wemwe nawe mutakuyenja echibhalo chinu echisoka ku Nyamuanga oumwila?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father; your accuser is Moses, on whom you have been resting your hopes.
Muteganilisha ati anye enibhabhula imbele ya Lata. Unu kabhabhula emwe no Musa unu emwe muteyeo ameikanyo gemwe kumwene.
46 For, had you believed Moses, you would have believed me, for it was of me that Moses wrote;
Alabha nimwikilisha Musa mwakanyikilisishe any kwo kubha anyandikiye emisango jani.
47 but, if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my teaching?”
Alabha mutakwikilisha olwandiko lwaye omutula kutiki okwikilisha emisango Jani?
