< Ephesians 5 >

1 Therefore imitate God, as his dear children,
Ngarud agbalinkayo a mannulad ti Dios, a kas dagiti ay-ayatenna nga annak.
2 and live a life of love, following the example of the Christ, who loved you and gave himself for you as an offering and a sacrifice to God, that should be fragrant and acceptable.
Ken agbiagtayo iti ayat, kas inayatnatayo met ni Cristo ken intedna ti bagina para kadatayo. Maysa isuna a daton ken sagut, nga agbalin a makaay-ayo nga ayamuom iti Dios.
3 As for sexual immorality and every kind of impurity, or greed, do not let them even be mentioned among you, as befits Christ’s people,
Nasken a saan a madakamat kadakayo ti kinaderrep wenno aniaman a kinarugit wenno nagartem a panangagum, a kas umno kadagiti namati.
4 nor shameful conduct, nor foolish talk or jesting, for they are wholly out of place among you; but rather thanksgiving.
Saanyo nga ibaga uray dagiti naaalas, minamaag a sasao, wenno makaidadanes nga angaw, a saan nga umno. Ngem ketdi adda koma ti kinamanagyaman.
5 For of this you may be sure – that no one who is unchaste or impure or greedy of gain (for to be greedy of gain is idolatry) has any place awaiting him in the kingdom of the Christ and God.
Ta nalawag nga ammoyo nga awan ti naderrep, narugit, wenno naagum a tao, nga isu ket, maysa nga agrukbab kadagiti didiosen, nga adda tawidna iti pagarian ni Cristo ken ti Dios.
6 Do not let anyone deceive you with specious arguments. Those are the sins that bring down the wrath of God on the disobedient.
Saanyo a palubosan iti uray maysa nga allilawennakayo babaen ti ubbaw a sasao. Gapu kadagitoy a banbanag ket umay ti pungtot ti Dios kadagiti annak ti kinasukir.
7 Therefore have nothing to do with such people.
Isu a saankayo a makipaset kadagitoy.
8 For, although you were once in darkness, now, by your union with the Lord, you are in the light. Live as children of light –
Ta naminsan a dakayo ket kinasipnget, ngem ita ket lawagkayon iti Apo. Isu a magnakayo a kas annak ti lawag.
9 for the outcome of life in the light may be seen in every form of goodness, righteousness, and sincerity –
Ta ti bunga ti lawag ket amin a kinaimbag, kinalinteg, ken kinapudno.
10 always trying to find out what is pleasing to the Lord.
Ammoenyo ania iti makaay-ayo iti Apo.
11 Take no part in deeds of darkness, from which no good can come; on the contrary, expose them.
Saankayo a makipaset kadagiti saan a nabunga nga ar-aramid iti kinasipnget. Ngem ketdi, ibutaktakyo dagitoy.
12 It is degrading even to speak of the things continually done by them in secret.
Ta dagiti banbanag a naaramid babaen kadakuada iti nalimed ket nakababain unay nga iladawan.
13 All such actions, when exposed, have their true character made manifest by the light.
Amin a banbanag, no maiparangarangda babaen iti lawag, ket naibutaktak.
14 For everything that has its true character made manifest is clear as light. And that is why it is said – ‘Sleeper, awake! Arise from the dead, and the Christ will give you light!’
Ta ti tunggal banag a naiparangarang ket agbalin a lawag. Ngarud ibagbaga daytoy, “Agriingkayo, dakayo a matmaturog, ket agungarkayo manipud iti patay, ket agranniagto ni Cristo kadakayo.”
15 Take great care, then, how you live – not unwisely but wisely,
Ngarud agannadkayo iti panagbiagyo, saan a kas kadagiti tattao a saan a nasirib ngem kas nasirib.
16 making the most of every opportunity; for these are evil days.
Subbotenyo iti tiempo gapu ta dagiti al-aldaw ket dakes.
17 Therefore do not grow thoughtless, but try to understand what the Lord’s will is.
Saankayo nga agbalin a maag. Ngem ketdi, awatenyo no ania ti pagayatan iti Dios.
18 Do not drink wine to excess, for that leads to profligacy; but seek to be filled with the Spirit of God, and speak to one another in psalms and hymns and sacred songs.
Ken saankayo nga agbartek iti arak, ta mangiturong dayta iti pannakadadael. Ngem ketdi, mapnokayo koma iti Espiritu Santo.
19 Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.
Agsaritakayo iti tunggal maysa babaen kadagiti salmo ken kadagiti himno ken naespirituan a kankanta. Agkanta ken agdaydayawkayo babaen iti pusoyo iti Apo.
20 Always give thanks for everything to our God and Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Agyamankayo a kankanayon para kadagiti amin a banbanag iti nagan ni Apotayo a Jesu-Cristo iti Dios Ama.
21 Submit to one another because you honor and respect Christ.
Agpaituraykayo iti tumunggal maysa kas panagraem kenni Cristo.
22 Wives should submit to their husbands as submitting to the Lord.
Assawa a babbai, agpaituraykayo kadagiti assawayo a lallaki, a kas iti Apo.
23 For a man is the head of his wife, as the Christ is the head of the church – being indeed himself the Savior of his body.
Ta ti asawa a lalaki ti ulo iti asawa a babai, a kas met ni Cristo nga ulo iti iglesia. Isuna iti mangisalakan iti bagi.
24 But as the church submits to the Christ, so also should wives submit to their husbands in everything.
Ngem kas iti iglesia ket iturayan ni Cristo, kasta met dagiti asawa a babbai kadagiti asawada a lallaki iti amin a banag.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as the Christ loved the church, and gave himself for her,
Asawa a lallaki, ayatenyo dagiti asawayo a babbai a kas inayat ni Cristo ti iglesia ken intedna ti bagina para kenkuana.
26 to make her holy, after purifying her by the washing with the water, according to his promise;
Inaramidna daytoy tapno mapagbalinna isuna a nasantoan. Dinalusanna ti iglesia babaen iti panangugasna iti danum babaen ti sao.
27 so that he might himself bring the church, in all her beauty, into his own presence, with no spot or wrinkle or blemish of any kind, but that she might be holy and faultless.
Inaramidna daytoy tapno maiparangna iti bagina ti maysa a nadayag nga iglesia, nga awan mansana wenno karetket wenno aniaman a kas kadagitoy a banag, ngem ketdi nasantoan ken awan biddutna.
28 That is how husbands ought to love their wives – as if they were their own bodies. A man who loves his wife is really loving himself;
Iti isu met laeng a wagas, masapul nga ayaten dagiti asawa a lallaki dagiti bukodda nga asawa a babbai a kas bukodda a bagi. Ti siasinoman nga agay-ayat iti bukodna nga asawa a babai ket ay-ayatenna ti bagina.
29 for no one ever yet hated his own body. But everyone feeds his body and cares for it, just as the Christ for the church;
Awan ti siasinoman a nanggura iti bukodna a bagi. Ngem ketdi, pakanenna ken ayatenna daytoy, a kas ay-ayaten met ni Cristo ti iglesia.
30 for we are members of his body.
Ta kamkamengnatayo iti bagina.
31 For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and be united to his wife; and the man and his wife will become one.
“Para iti daytoy a rason a panawan ti lalaki ti ama ken inana ket maitipon iti asawana a babai, ket ti dua ket agbalin a maysa a bagi.”
32 In this there is a profound truth – I am speaking of Christ and his church.
Daytoy ket dakkel a nailimed a kinapudno, ngem agsasaoak maipanggep kenni Cristo ken ti iglesia.
33 However, for you individually, let each love his wife as if she were himself; and the wife be careful to respect her husband.
Nupay kasta, masapul met nga ayaten ti tunggal maysa kadakayo ti bukodna nga asawa a babai a kas iti bagina, ken masapul a raemen ti asawa a babai ti asawana a lalaki.
