Acts 9
1 Meanwhile Saul, still breathing murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest,
౧ప్రభువు శిష్యులను హతమారుస్తానని సౌలు యింకా బెదిరింపు మాటలు పలుకుతూ ప్రధాన యాజకుని దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళి
2 and asked him to give him letters to the Jewish congregations at Damascus, authorizing him, if he found there any supporters of the Way, whether men or women, to have them put in chains and brought to Jerusalem.
౨యేసు మార్గాన్ని అనుసరించే పురుషులు గానీ స్త్రీలు గానీ తనకు దొరికితే, వారిని బంధించి యెరూషలేముకు తీసికొచ్చేలా దమస్కు ఊరి సమాజ మందిరాల వారికి ఉత్తరాలు రాసి ఇమ్మని అడిగాడు.
3 While on his journey, as he was nearing Damascus, suddenly a light from the heavens flashed around him.
౩అతడు ప్రయాణం చేస్తూ దమస్కు సమీపించే సరికి, అకస్మాత్తుగా ఆకాశం నుండి ఒక వెలుగు అతని చుట్టూ ప్రకాశించింది.
4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him – “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?”
౪అప్పుడతడు నేల మీద పడిపోయాడు. “సౌలూ, సౌలూ, నీవెందుకు నన్ను హింసిస్తున్నావు?” అనే ఒక శబ్దం విన్నాడు.
5 “Who are you, Lord?” he asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” the voice answered;
౫“ప్రభూ, నీవెవరివి?” అని అతడు అడిగినప్పుడు, ప్రభువు, “నువ్వు హింసిస్తున్న యేసుని.
6 “Yet stand up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
౬లేచి పట్టణంలోకి వెళ్ళు, అక్కడ నీవేం చేయాలో అది నీకు తెలుస్తుంది” అని చెప్పాడు.
7 The men traveling with Saul were meanwhile standing speechless; they heard the sound of the voice, but saw no one.
౭అతనితో కూడా ప్రయాణించే వారు ఆ శబ్దం విన్నారు గాని మాటల్లేక నిలబడిపోయారు. వారికి ఏమీ కనబడలేదు.
8 When Saul got up from the ground, though his eyes were open, he could see nothing. So his men led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus;
౮సౌలు నేలమీద నుండి లేచి కళ్ళు తెరచినా ఏమీ చూడలేకపోయాడు కాబట్టి వారతని చెయ్యి పట్టుకుని దమస్కులోకి నడిపించారు.
9 and for three days he was unable to see, and took nothing either to eat or to drink.
౯అతడు మూడు రోజులు చూపు లేకుండా ఉన్నాడు. ఏమీ తినలేదు, తాగలేదు.
10 Now there was at Damascus a disciple named Ananias, to whom, in a vision, the Lord said, “Ananias.” “Yes, Lord,” he answered.
౧౦దమస్కులో అననీయ అనే ఒక శిష్యుడున్నాడు. ప్రభువు దర్శనంలో, “అననీయా!” అని అతనిని పిలిచాడు.
11 “Go at once,” said the Lord, “to the Straight Street, and ask at Judas’s house for a man named Saul, from Tarsus. He is at this moment praying,
౧౧అతడు, “చిత్తం” అన్నాడు. అందుకు ప్రభువు, “నువ్వు లేచి, ‘తిన్ననిది’ అనే పేరున్న వీధికి వెళ్ళు. అక్కడ యూదా అనే అతని ఇంట్లో తార్సు ఊరి వాడైన సౌలు అనే మనిషి కోసం అడుగు. అతడు ప్రార్థన చేసుకుంటున్నాడు.
12 and he has seen, in a vision, a man named Ananias coming in and placing his hands on him, so that he may recover his sight.”
౧౨దర్శనంలో అతడు అననీయ అనే వ్యక్తి లోపలికి వచ్చి అతడు చూపు పొందేలా తల మీద చేతులుంచడం చూశాడు” అని చెప్పాడు.
13 “Lord,” exclaimed Ananias, “I have heard from many people about this man – how much harm he has done at Jerusalem to your people there.
౧౩అయితే అననీయ, “ప్రభూ, ఈ వ్యక్తి యెరూషలేములోని నీ ప్రజలకు ఎంతో కీడు చేశాడని అతని గురించి చాలామంది చెప్పారు.
14 And, here, too, he holds authority from the chief priests to put in chains all those who invoke your name.”
౧౪ఇక్కడ కూడా నీ నామంలో ప్రార్థన చేసే వారిందరినీ బంధించడానికి అతడు ప్రధాన యాజకుల నుండి అధికారం పొందాడు” అని జవాబిచ్చాడు.
15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for this man is my chosen instrument to uphold my name before the Gentiles and their kings, and the people of Israel.
౧౫అందుకు ప్రభువు, “నీవు వెళ్ళు, యూదేతరుల ముందూ, రాజుల ముందూ, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ముందూ నా నామం భరించడానికి ఇతడు నేను ఏర్పరచుకున్న సాధనం.
16 I will myself show him all that he has to suffer for my name.”
౧౬ఇతడు నా నామం కోసం ఎన్ని బాధలు అనుభవించాలో నేనతనికి చూపిస్తాను” అని అతనితో చెప్పాడు.
17 So Ananias went, entered the house, and, placing his hands on Saul, said, “Saul, my brother, I have been sent by the Lord – by Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here – so that you may recover your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”
౧౭అననీయ వెళ్ళి ఆ ఇంట్లో ప్రవేశించి, అతని మీద చేతులుంచి, “సౌలా, సోదరా, నీవు వచ్చిన దారిలో నీకు కనబడిన ప్రభు యేసు, నీవు చూపు పొంది, పరిశుద్ధాత్మతో నిండేలా నన్ను నీ దగ్గరకి పంపాడు” అని చెప్పాడు.
18 Instantly it seemed as if a film fell from Saul’s eyes, and his sight was restored. Then he got up and was baptized,
౧౮వెంటనే అతని కళ్ళ నుండి పొరల్లాంటివి రాలిపోగా అతడు చూపు పొంది, లేచి బాప్తిసం పొందాడు. తరువాత భోజనం చేసి బలం పుంజుకున్నాడు.
19 and, after he had taken food, he felt his strength return. Saul stayed for some days with the disciples who were at Damascus,
౧౯అతడు దమస్కులో ఉన్న శిష్యులతో చాలా రోజులు గడిపాడు.
20 and at once began in the synagogues to proclaim Jesus as the Son of God.
౨౦వెంటనే సమాజ మందిరాల్లో యేసే దేవుని కుమారుడని ప్రకటిస్తూ వచ్చాడు.
21 All who heard him were amazed. “Is not this,” they asked, “the man who worked havoc in Jerusalem among those that invoke this name, and who had also come here for the express purpose of having such persons put in chains and taken before the chief priests?”
౨౧విన్నవారంతా ఆశ్చర్యపడి, ‘యెరూషలేములో ఈ పేరుతో ప్రార్థన చేసే వారిని నాశనం చేసింది ఇతడే కదా? వారిని బందీలుగా ప్రధాన యాజకుల దగ్గరికి తీసుకుపోడానికి ఇక్కడికి కూడా వచ్చాడు కదా’ అని చెప్పుకున్నారు.
22 Saul’s influence, however, kept steadily increasing, and he confounded the Jewish people who lived in Damascus by the proofs that he gave that Jesus was the Christ.
౨౨అయితే సౌలు మరింతగా బలపడి ‘యేసే క్రీస్తు’ అని రుజువు పరుస్తూ దమస్కులో నివసిస్తున్న యూదులను కలవరపరచాడు.
23 After some time some of them laid a plot to kill Saul,
౨౩చాలా రోజులు గడిచిన తరువాత యూదులు అతనిని చంపాలని ఆలోచించారు.
24 but it became known to him. They even watched the gates day and night, to kill him;
౨౪వారి కుతంత్రం సౌలుకు తెలిసింది. వారు అతనిని చంపాలని రాత్రింబగళ్ళు పట్టణ ద్వారాల దగ్గర కాపు కాశారు.
25 but his disciples let him down by night through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a basket.
౨౫అయితే అతని శిష్యులు రాత్రివేళ అతనిని తీసుకుపోయి గంపలో కూర్చోబెట్టి గోడ మీద నుండి అతనిని కిందికి దింపి తప్పించారు.
26 On his arrival in Jerusalem, Saul attempted to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, as they did not believe that he was really a disciple.
౨౬అతడు యెరూషలేము వచ్చినపుడు శిష్యులతో చేరడానికి ప్రయత్నం చేశాడు గాని, అతడు శిష్యుడని నమ్మలేక అందరూ అతనికి భయపడ్డారు.
27 Barnabas, however, taking him by the hand, brought him to the apostles, and told them the whole story of how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord, and how the Lord had talked to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken out fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
౨౭అయితే బర్నబా అతనిని చేరదీసి అపొస్తలుల దగ్గరికి తీసుకుని వచ్చి, “అతడు దారిలో ప్రభువును చూశాడనీ, ప్రభువు అతనితో మాట్లాడాడనీ, అతడు దమస్కులో యేసు నామంలో ధైర్యంగా బోధించాడు” అనీ, వారికి వివరంగా తెలియపరచాడు.
28 After that, Saul remained in Jerusalem, in close contact with the apostles; and he spoke fearlessly in the name of the Lord,
౨౮అతడు యెరూషలేములో వారితో కలిసి వస్తూ పోతూ,
29 talking and arguing with the Jews of foreign birth, who, however, made attempts to kill him.
౨౯ప్రభువు నామంలో ధైర్యంగా బోధిస్తూ, గ్రీకు యూదులతో మాట్లాడుతూ తర్కించాడు. అయితే వారు అతణ్ణి చంపాలని ప్రయత్నం చేశారు.
30 But, when the followers found this out, they took him down to Caesarea, and sent him on his way to Tarsus.
౩౦సోదరులు దీన్ని తెలుసుకుని అతనిని కైసరయకు తీసుకు వచ్చి తార్సుకు పంపేశారు.
31 And so it came about that the church, throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, enjoyed peace and became firmly established; and, ordering its life by respect for the Lord and the help of the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.
౩౧కాబట్టి యూదయ, గలిలయ, సమరయ, ప్రాంతాలంతటా సంఘం ప్రశాంతంగా ఉంటూ అభివృద్ది చెందింది. ప్రభువు పట్ల భయం, పరిశుద్ధాత్మ ప్రసాదించే ఆదరణ కలిగి సాగిపోతూ విస్తరించింది.
32 Peter, while traveling from place to place throughout the country, went down to visit the people of Christ living at Lydda.
౩౨ఆ తరువాత పేతురు ఆ ప్రాంతమంతా తిరిగి, లుద్ద అనే ఊరులో నివసిస్తున్న దేవుని ప్రజల దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు.
33 There he found a man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years with paralysis.
౩౩అక్కడ పక్షవాతంతో ఎనిమిది సంవత్సరాల నుండి మంచం పట్టిన ఐనెయ అనే ఒకతన్ని చూసి,
34 “Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ cures you. Get up, and make your bed.” Aeneas got up at once;
౩౪“ఐనెయా, యేసు క్రీస్తు నిన్ను బాగుచేశాడు, నీవు లేచి నీ పడక సర్దుకో” అని అతనితో చెప్పగానే
35 and all the inhabitants of Lydda and of the Plain of Sharon saw him, and came over to the Lord’s side.
౩౫వెంటనే అతడు పైకి లేచాడు. లుద్దలో, షారోనులో నివసిస్తున్న వారంతా అతనిని చూసి ప్రభువును విశ్వసించారు.
36 At Joppa there lived a disciple whose name was Tabitha, which is in Greek ‘Dorcas’ – a Gazelle. Her life was spent in doing kind and charitable actions.
౩౬యొప్పేలో తబిత అనే ఒక శిష్యురాలు ఉంది. (ఈ పేరు గ్రీకులో దొర్కా, అంటే లేడి). ఈమె ఎప్పుడూ మంచి పనులు చేస్తూ, పేదలను ఆదుకుంటూ ఉండేది.
37 Just at that time she was taken ill, and died; and they had washed her body and laid it out in an upstairs room.
౩౭ఆ రోజుల్లో ఆమె జబ్బుపడి చనిపోయింది. ఆమె శవానికి స్నానం చేయించి మేడ గదిలో ఉంచారు.
38 Joppa was near Lydda, and the disciples, having heard that Peter was at Lydda, sent two men with the request that he come to them without delay.
౩౮లుద్ద అనే ఊరు యొప్పేకు దగ్గరగా ఉండడం వల్ల పేతురు అక్కడ ఉన్నాడని శిష్యులు విని, ఆలస్యం చేయకుండా తమ దగ్గరికి రమ్మని అతనిని బతిమాలడానికి ఇద్దర్ని అతని దగ్గరకి పంపారు.
39 Peter returned with them at once. On his arrival, he was taken upstairs, and all the widows came around him in tears, showing the coats and other clothing which Dorcas had made while she was among them.
౩౯పేతురు లేచి వారితో కూడా వెళ్ళాడు. అక్కడ చేరినప్పుడు, వారు మేడగదిలోకి అతనిని తీసుకొచ్చారు. అక్కడ ఉన్న వితంతువులందరూ ఏడుస్తూ, దోర్కా తమతో ఉన్నప్పుడు కుట్టిన అంగీలు, బట్టలు చూపిస్తూ అతని పక్కనే నిలబడ్డారు.
40 But Peter sent everybody out of the room, and knelt down and prayed. Then, turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha! Stand up.” She opened her eyes, and, seeing Peter, sat up.
౪౦పేతురు అందరినీ బయటికి పంపి మోకరించి ప్రార్థన చేశాడు. తరువాత ఆ శవం వైపు తిరిగి, “తబితా, లే” అనగానే ఆమె కళ్ళు తెరచి పేతురును చూడగానే లేచి కూర్చుంది.
41 Giving her his hand, Peter raised her up, and, calling in the widows and others of Christ’s people, presented her to them alive.
౪౧అతడామె చెయ్యి పట్టుకుని పైకి లేపాడు. అక్కడ చేరిన విశ్వాసులనూ, వితంతువులనూ పిలిచి ఆమెను సజీవంగా వారికి అప్పగించాడు.
42 This became known all through Joppa, and numbers of people came to believe in the Lord.
౪౨ఇది యొప్పే ప్రాంతమంతా తెలిసింది, చాలామంది ప్రభువులో విశ్వాసముంచారు.
43 And Peter stayed some days at Joppa with a tanner named Simon.
౪౩పేతురు యొప్పేలో సీమోను అనే చర్మాలు బాగు చేసే వాని దగ్గర చాలా రోజులున్నాడు.
