< 3 John 1 >

1 From the elder to his dear friend Gaius, whom he sincerely loves.
Ma sel Mwet Elder — Nu sel Gaius, kawuk saok luk, su nga lungse na pwaye.
2 Dear friend, I pray that all may be well with you and that you may have good health – I know that all is well with your soul.
Mwet kawuk saok luk, nga pre tuh in wo ouiyom in ma nukewa, ac tuh kom in ku in mano, oana ke nga etu lah kom ku in ngun.
3 For it was a great joy to me, when some followers of the Lord came and testified to your fidelity to the truth. I know that your own life is guided by the truth.
Nga arulana engan ke kutu mwet Christian wiasr elos foloko tuh srumun nu sik ke ouiyen oaru lom nu ke ma pwaye, oana ke kom moulkin ma pwaye pacl nukewa.
4 Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to hear from time to time that the lives of my children are guided by the truth.
Wangin ma nga engankin yohk liki ke nga ac lohng lah tulik nutik elos moul fal nu ke ma pwaye.
5 Dear friend, you are faithful in all the things you do for other followers – even when they are strangers to you.
Mwet kawuk saok luk, kom arulana oaru ke ma kunom ke kom kasru mwet lulalfongi, elos finne mwet sac.
6 They themselves have testified before the church to your love. You will do well to help them on their way in a manner worthy of the service of God.
Elos tuku tuh srumun nu sin church se inge ke lungse lom nu selos. Nunak munas, kasrelos in tafwela fufahsryesr lalos an ke ouiya ma ac akinsewowoye God.
7 For it was on behalf of Christ’s name that they set out, not accepting even one thing from the Gentiles.
Mweyen ke elos mukuiyak in fahsr lalos in kulansupu orekma lun Christ, elos tuh tia eis kutena kasru sin mwet su tia lulalfongi.
8 Therefore, we should support people like them, and so take our share in their work for the truth.
Ouinge, kut mwet Christian, enenu in kasru mwet inge, tuh kut fah ku in ipeis in orekma lalos nu ke ma pwaye.
9 I wrote something to the church, but Diotrephes (who loves to be the leader among them) doesn’t welcome us.
Nga tuh simusla leta fototo se nu sin church se ingan; tusruktu Diotrephes, su musmusen mwet kol, el tiana lohang nu ke ma nga fahk uh.
10 So if I come, I will bring up his actions in telling wicked nonsense about us. Not content with that, he not only refuses to personally welcome our friends who are followers, but actually stops those who would, and expels them from the church.
Ke ma inge, nga fin fahsrot, nga fah srumun ma nukewa el oru: ma na koluk el fahk kacsr ac kas kikiap ma el fahk! Ac tia ma inge mukena, a el tia pac lungse eis mwet lulalfongi wiasr ke pacl elos ac sun acn ingan, ac el oayapa sikululos su engan in eisalos, ac el srike elan luselosla liki church!
11 Dear friend, do not follow a bad example, but a good one. The person who does what is good is from God; the person who does what is bad has never seen God.
Mwet kawuk saok luk, nimet kom etai ma koluk, a kom in etai ma wo. Elos nukewa su oru wo elos ma nutin God; ac elos nukewa su oru ma koluk elos soenna liye God.
12 Everyone has always had a good word for Demetrius, and the truth itself speaks for him. Yes, and we also add our good word, and you know that what we say is true.
Mwet nukewa kaskas wo kacl Demetrius; ouiyen moul lal wi pac fahkak lah pwaye el wo. Ac kut wi pac loh ke orekma wo lal, ac kom etu lah ma kut fahk uh pwaye.
13 I have many things to tell you, but I would rather not use pen and ink.
Pus na ma yuruk in fahk nu sum, tusruktu nga tia lungse simis ke pen ac ink.
14 I hope to see you soon, and then we will speak face to face. Peace be with you. The friends here send you their greetings. Greet each one of our friends.
Nga finsrak mu ngan sun kom ke pacl na fototo, na kut ac fah ngetani ac sramsram. Misla nu sum. Mwet kawuk lom inge nukewa supweyuk lung nu sum. Sang lung lasr nu sin kais sie sin mwet kawuk lasr ingan.
