< 2 Peter 2 >
1 But there were false prophets also in the nation, just as there will be false teachers among you, people who will secretly introduce ruinous divisions, disowning even the Lord who bought them, and bringing speedy ruin on themselves.
Hatei, profetkaphawknaw teh Judahnaw thung hoi a tâco e patetlah nangmouh thung hoi hai saya kaphawknaw a tâco van han. Ahnimouh ni kamkonae koe kaphatkhai e tawm payonnae arulahoi thokhai awh vaiteh, na karatangkung Bawipa patenghai pahnawt awh vaiteh, amamae lathueng karang poung lah rawknae a pha sak han.
2 There will be many, too, who will follow their licentious courses, and cause the way of the truth to be maligned.
Tami moikapap nihai, ahnimae hnopai lungradueknae hnukkâbang awh vaiteh, lawkkatang lamthung teh ahnimouh kecu dudam e lah kaawm han.
3 In their covetousness they will try to make you a source of profit by their fabrications; but for a long time past their sentence has not been standing idle, nor their ruin slumbering.
Ahnimouh ni hounlounnae, pasawtpanepnae lawk hoi nangmouh na yo awh han. Ahnimouh lawkcengnae teh ayan hoi hnawng hoeh. Ahnimae kamkonae haiyah ngâm boihoeh.
4 Remember, God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them down to Tartarus, and consigned them to caverns of darkness, to be kept under guard for judgment. (Tartaroō )
Bangkongtetpawiteh, Cathut ni ka payon e kalvantami hah pasainae tawn hoeh. Hell hmai adungpoungnae koe hmonae sumbawtarui hoi a katek teh lawkceng hanelah a hruek toe. (Tartaroō )
5 Nor did he spare the world of old; though he preserved Noah, the preacher of righteousness, and seven others, when he brought a flood on the godless world.
Ayan e talaivan hai pasai laipalah, lannae phung ka dei e Noah hoi tami sari touh e naw hah a hlout sak teh cathutlaipa e talai taminaw pueng teh tuikamuem hoi koung a raphoe.
6 He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and reduced them to ashes, holding them up as a warning to the godless of what was in store for them;
Hothloilah Sawdom hoi Gomorrah khopui hah lawk a ceng teh hrabalah mueng a yawng sak teh, cathutlaipa e taminaw ni khetsin hanelah sut ao.
7 but he rescued righteous Lot, whose heart was vexed by the wanton licentiousness of his neighbors;
Hatnavah, kâcakuepnae kaawm hoeh e taminaw e hounlounnae lahoi khosaknae ni rektap lah kaawm e tamikalan Lot hah a rungngang.
8 for, seeing and hearing what he did, as he lived his righteous life among them, day after day, Lot’s righteous soul was tortured by their wicked doings.
Hote tamikalan teh, ahnimouh koe kho a sak navah, ahnimae kâlawklaipa hringnae hoi tawksaknae hnintangkuem a hmu teh a thainae ni a lannae lungthin hah puenghoi a rektap pouh.
9 The Lord, therefore, knows how to deliver the pious from temptation, and to keep the wicked, who are even now suffering punishment, in readiness for ‘the day of judgment’ –
Hatdawkvah, cathutlae taminaw hah tacueknae dawk hoi rasa hanelah thoseh, tamikalan hoeh e naw lawkcengnae hnin dawk reknae khang sak hanelah hruek hane hai thoseh a panue e lah ao.
10 especially those who, following the promptings of their lower nature, indulge their polluting passions and despise all control. Audacious and self-willed, they feel no awe of the celestial beings, maligning them,
Alawkpui lah ka khin e hounlounnae lahoi takngainae hnukkâbang teh, kâtawnnae kadudamnaw hah hottelah a hruek han.
11 even where angels, though excelling them in strength and power, do not bring against them a malignant charge before the Lord.
Ahnimouh hlak thao thasainae hoi bahu kaawm e kalvantami ni patenghai yah, Cathut hmalah lawkcengnae sak awh hoeh.
12 These people, however, like animals without reason, intended by nature to be caught and killed – these people, I say, malign those of whom they know nothing, and will assuredly perish through their own corruption,
Hatei, ahnimanaw hah man vaiteh, be thei hane moithangnaw patetlah ao awh teh amamouh ni a thai panuek hoeh e hah a dudam awh. Ahnimouh teh moithangnaw kahmakata e patetlah a kahmakata awh vaiteh, amamae lanhoehnae phu teh a khang awh han.
13 suffering themselves, as the penalty for the suffering that they have inflicted. They think that pleasure consists in the self-indulgence of the moment. They are a stain and a disgrace, indulging, as they do, in their wanton revelry, even while joining you at your feasts.
Khodai patenghai yah canei hounloun e heh nawmnae lah a pouk awh teh, nangmouh hoi rei canei awh navah amamae dumyennae dawk a nawm awh teh nangmouh hanlah min mathoenae lah ao awh.
14 They have eyes only for adulteresses, eyes never tired of sin; they entice weak souls; their minds are trained to covet; they live under a curse.
Ahnimae mit teh uicuk ngainae hoi akawi dawkvah yon sak laipalah awm ngai awh hoeh. A lung kacakhoehe taminaw hah yonnae koe lah a tacuek awh teh, hounlounnae dawk a phunep awh toung dawkvah, thoebo e canu capa lah ao awh.
15 Leaving the straight road, they have gone astray and followed in the steps of Balaam, the son of Beor, who set his heart on the reward for wrongdoing,
Ahnimouh teh, lam kalan hah a pahnawt awh teh, lam a payon awh toung dawkvah, lanhoehnae kutphu lungpataw e Beor capa Balaam e lamthung a dawn awh.
16 but was rebuked for his offense. A dumb animal spoke with a human voice, and checked the prophet’s madness.
Hatei, Balaam teh amae a payonnae dawk yue e lah ao. Lawk ka dei thai hoeh e la ni tami lawk lahoi a dei teh hote profet e pathunae hah a ngang.
17 These people are like springs without water, or mists driven before a gale; and for them the blackest darkness has been reserved.
Ahnimanaw teh tui kahak e tuikhu, kahlî ni a palek e tâmai patetlah doeh ao awh. Ahnimouh hanelah yungyoe hmonae a hruek pouh toe. ()
18 With boastful and foolish talk, they appeal to the passions of people’s lower nature, and, by their profligacy, entice those who are just escaping from the people who live such misguided lives.
Bangkongtetpawiteh, ahnimouh ni lawk pacawt lahoi a kâoup awh teh, tami kahawihoehnaw thung hringnae koehoi nuengnueng kahlout e naw hah takngainae, hounlounnae hoi a dumyen awh.
19 They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves to corrupt habits; for a person is the slave of anything to which they give way.
Ahnimouh ni hote taminaw hah hloutnae na poe awh han atipouh awh nahlangva vah, amamouh rawknae san lah ao awh. Bangkongtetpawiteh, tami katâ e teh tami e bawi lah ao.
20 If, after having escaped the polluting influences of the world, through knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, people are again entangled in them, and give way to them, their last state has become worse than their first.
Maimae Bawipa hoi rungngangkung Jisuh Khrih panuenae lahoi talaivan khinnae dawk hoi hlout awh hnukkhu, hote hnonaw dawk bout kâman awh pawiteh, ahmaloe e hlak a hnukkhu e hoe a mathoe.
21 It would, indeed, have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn away from the holy command delivered to them.

22 In their case is seen the truth of the proverb – ‘A dog returns to what it has vomited’ and ‘A sow after washing to her wallowing-place in the mud.’
