2 Corinthians 4
1 Therefore, since it is by God’s mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart.
Därför, då vi nu, genom den barmhärtighet som har vederfarits oss, hava detta ämbete, så fälla vi icke modet.
2 No, we have renounced the secrecy prompted by shame, refusing to adopt crafty ways, or to tamper with God’s message, and commending ourselves to everyone’s conscience, in the sight of God, by our exhibition of the truth.
Nej, vi hava frånsagt oss allt skamligt hemlighetsväsen och gå icke illfundigt till väga, ej heller förfalska vi Guds ord, utan framlägga öppet sanningen och anbefalla oss så, inför Gud, hos var människas samvete.
3 And, even if the good news that we bring is veiled, it is veiled only in the case of those who are on the path to ruin –
Och om vårt evangelium nu verkligen är bortskymt av ett täckelse, så finnes det täckelset hos dem som gå förlorade.
4 people whose minds have been blinded by the God of this age, unbelievers as they are, so that the light from the good news of the glory of the Christ, who is the incarnation of God, should not shine for them. (aiōn g165)
Ty de otrognas sinnen har denna tidsålders gud så förblindat, att de icke se det sken som utgår från evangelium om Kristi, Guds egen avbilds, härlighet. (aiōn g165)
5 (For it is not ourselves that we proclaim, but Christ Jesus, as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.)
Vi predika ju icke oss själva, utan Kristus Jesus såsom Herre, och oss såsom tjänare åt eder, för Jesu skull.
6 Indeed, the same God who said ‘Out of darkness light will shine,’ has shone in on our hearts, so that we should bring out into the light the knowledge of the glory of God, seen in the face of Christ.
Ty den Gud som sade: "Ljus skall lysa fram ur mörkret", han är den som har låtit ljus gå upp i våra hjärtan, för att kunskapen om Guds härlighet, som strålar fram i Kristi ansikte, skall kunna sprida sitt sken.
7 This treasure we have in these earthen vessels, so that its all-prevailing power may be seen to come from God, and not to be our own.
Men denna skatt hava vi i lerkärl, för att den översvinnliga kraften skall befinnas vara Guds och icke något som kommer från oss.
8 Though hard pressed on every side, we are never hemmed in; though perplexed, never driven to despair;
Vi äro på allt sätt i trångmål, dock icke utan utväg; vi äro rådvilla, dock icke rådlösa;
9 though pursued, never abandoned; though struck down, never killed!
vi äro förföljda, dock icke givna till spillo; vi äro slagna till marken, dock icke förlorade.
10 We always bear on our bodies the marks of the death that Jesus died, so that the life also of Jesus may be exhibited in our bodies.
Alltid bära vi Jesu dödsmärken på vår kropp, för att också Jesu liv skall bliva uppenbarat i vår kropp.
11 Indeed, we who still live are continually being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life also of Jesus may be exhibited in our mortal nature.
Ja, ännu medan vi leva, överlämnas vi för Jesu skull beständigt åt döden, på det att ock Jesu liv må bliva uppenbarat i vårt dödliga kött.
12 And so, while death is at work within us, life is at work within you.
Så utför nu döden sitt verk i oss, men i eder verkar livet.
13 But, in the same spirit of faith as that expressed in the words – ‘I believed, and therefore I spoke,’ we, also believe, and therefore speak.
Men såsom det är skrivet: "Jag tror, därför talar jag ock", så tro också vi, eftersom vi hava samma trons Ande; därför tala vi ock,
14 For we know that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with him, and will bring us, with you, into his presence.
ty vi veta att han som uppväckte Herren Jesus, han skall ock uppväcka oss med Jesus och ställa oss inför sig tillsammans med eder.
15 For all this is for your sakes, so that the loving kindness of God, spreading from heart to heart, may cause yet more hearts to overflow with thanksgiving, to his glory.
Allt sker nämligen för eder skull, på det att nåden, genom att komma allt flera till del, må bliva så mycket större och verka en allt mer överflödande tacksägelse, Gud till ära.
16 Therefore, as I said, we do not lose heart. No, even though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
Därför fälla vi icke modet; om ock vår utvärtes människa förgås, så förnyas likväl vår invärtes människa dag efter dag.
17 The light burden of our momentary trouble is preparing for us a weight of imperishable glory, beyond all measure. (aiōnios g166)
Ty vår bedrövelse, som varar ett ögonblick och väger föga, bereder åt oss, i översvinnligen rikt mått, en härlighet som väger översvinnligen tungt och varar i evighet -- (aiōnios g166)
18 We, all the while, gaze not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is transient, but what is unseen is imperishable. (aiōnios g166)
åt oss som icke hava till ögonmärke de ting som synas, utan dem som icke synas; ty de ting som synas, de vara allenast en tid, med de som icke synas, de vara i evighet. (aiōnios g166)
