< 1 Timothy 1 >
1 From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the appointment of God, our Savior, and Christ Jesus, our hope.
Paoly, Apostolin’ i Kristy Jesosy araka ny didin’ Andriamanitra, Mpamonjy antsika, sy Kristy Jesosy fanantenantsika,
2 To Timothy, my true child in the faith: May God, the Father, and Christ Jesus, our Lord, bless you, and be merciful to you, and give you peace.
mamangy an’ i Timoty, tena zanako amin’ ny finoana: fahasoavana, famindram-po, fiadanana avy amin’ Andriamanitra Ray sy Kristy Jesosy Tompontsika.
3 I beg you, as I did when I was on my way into Macedonia, to remain at Ephesus; so that you may instruct certain people there not to teach new and strange doctrines,
Toy ny nangatahako anao hitoetra any Efesosy, rehefa hankany Makedonia aho, mba handidianao ny sasany tsy hanao fampianarana hafahafa,
4 nor to devote their attention to legends and interminable genealogies, which tend to give rise to argument rather than to further that divine plan which is revealed in the faith.
na hitandrina ny anganongano sy ny tantaram-pirazanana tsy hita lany izay mahatonga ady hevitra, fa tsy mampandroso ny fitondrana araka an’ Andriamanitra amin’ ny finoana, dia toy izany koa no ataoko ankehitriny.
5 The object of all instruction is to call forth that love which comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a sincere faith.
Fa ny anton’ ny didy dia fitiavana avy amin’ ny fo madio sy ny fieritreretana tsara ary ny finoana tsy mihatsaravelatsihy,
6 And it is because they have not aimed at these things that the attention of certain people has been diverted to unprofitable subjects.
izay nivilian’ ny sasany, ka nania ho amin’ ny taria foana izy,
7 They want to be teachers of the Law, and yet do not understand either the words they use, or the subjects on which they speak so confidently.
dia olona izay te-ho mpampiana-dalàna, kanefa tsy fantany akory izay lazainy na izay itompoany.
8 We know, of course, that the Law is excellent, when used legitimately,
Nefa fantatsika fa tsara ny lalàna, raha entin’ ny olona araka izay antony,
9 by one who recognizes that laws were not made for good people, but for the lawless and disorderly, for irreligious and wicked people, for those who are irreverent and profane, for those who ill-treat their fathers or mothers, for murderers,
ka fantany fa tsy ny olona marina no nanaovana ny lalàna, fa ny mpandika lalàna sy ny maditra, dia ny tsy matahotra an’ Andriamanitra sy ny mpanota, ny olona tsy manaja izay masìna sy ny olona vetaveta, ny mpamono ray sy ny mpamono reny, ny mpamono olona,
10 for the immoral, for perverts, for slave traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for whatever else is opposed to sound Christian teaching –
ny mpijangajanga, ny sodomita, ny mpangalatra olona, ny mpandainga, ny mpianian-tsy tò, ary na inona na inona manohitra ny fampianarana tsy misy kilema,
11 as is taught in the glorious good news of the ever-blessed God, with which I was entrusted.
araka ny filazantsaran’ ny voninahitr’ Andriamanitra finaritra, izay natolotra ho adidiko.
12 I am thankful to Christ Jesus, our Lord, who has been my strength, for showing that he thought me worthy of trust by appointing me to his ministry,
Misaotra an’ i Kristy Jesosy Tompontsika aho, Izay nampahery ahy, fa nataony mahatoky aho ka notendreny ho amin’ ny fanompoana,
13 though I once used to blaspheme, and to persecute, and to insult. Yet mercy was shown me, because I acted in ignorance, while still an unbeliever;
dia izaho, izay mpiteny ratsy fahiny sady mpanenjika sy mpampahory; kanefa nahazo famindram-po aho, satria tamin’ ny tsi-fahalalana no nanaovako izany noho ny tsi-finoana.
14 and the loving kindness of our Lord was boundless, and filled me with that faith and love which come from union with Christ Jesus.
Fa be indrindra ny fahasoavan’ ny Tompontsika tamin’ ny finoana sy ny fitiavana, izay ao amin’ i Kristy Jesosy.
15 How true the saying is, and worthy of the fullest acceptance, that ‘Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners’! And there is no greater sinner than I!
Mahatoky ka tokony hekena amin’ ny fankasitrahana rehetra izao teny izao: tonga tetỳ ambonin’ ny tany Kristy Jesosy hamonjy ny mpanota, ary amin’ ireny izaho no lohany.
16 Yet mercy was shown me for the express purpose that Christ Jesus might exhibit in my case, beyond all others, his exhaustless patience, as an example for those who were afterward to believe on him and attain eternal life. (aiōnios )
Kanefa izao no namindrana fo tamiko, dia ny mba hasehon’ i Jesosy Kristy eo amiko, izay lohany, ny fahari-po rehetra ho fianarana ho an’ izay hino Azy hahazoana fiainana mandrakizay. (aiōnios )
17 To the eternal King, ever-living, invisible, the one God, be ascribed honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn )
Ary ho an’ ny Mpanjaka tsy manan-taloha, tsy mety maty, tsy hita, dia ho an’ Andriamanitra tokana ihany anie ny laza sy ny voninahitra mandrakizay mandrakizay. Amena. (aiōn )
18 This, then, is the charge that I lay on you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with what was predicted of you – Fight the good fight in the spirit of those predictions,
Izao didy izao no omeko anao, ry Timoty zanako, araka ireo faminaniana natao fahiny ny aminao ireo, mba ho entinao miady ny ady tsara ireo,
19 with faith, and with a clear conscience; and it is because they have thrust this aside, that, as regards the faith, some have wrecked their lives.
amin’ ny itananao ny finoana sy ny fieritreretana tsara, izay efa narian’ ny sasany, ka toy ny olona vaky sambo izy ny amin’ ny finoana;
20 Hymenaeus and Alexander are instances – the men whom I delivered over to Satan so that they might be taught not to blaspheme.
naman’ ireny Hymeneo sy Aleksandro, izay natolotro ho an’ i Satana mba hofaizana tsy hiteny ratsy.
