1 Peter 1
1 To the people of God who are living abroad, dispersed throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Roman Asia, and Bithynia,
Petru, apostol al lui Isus Cristos, străinilor împrăștiați prin Pontus, Galatia, Capadocia, Asia și Bitinia,
2 and who were chosen in accordance with the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the consecration of the Spirit, to learn obedience, and to be purified by the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ, from Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. May blessing and peace be yours in ever increasing measure.
Aleși conform cunoașterii dinainte a lui Dumnezeu Tatăl, prin sfințirea Duhului, spre ascultare și stropirea cu sângele lui Isus Cristos, har vouă și pace să vă fie înmulțite!
3 Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has, in his great mercy, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Binecuvântat fie Dumnezeul și Tatăl Domnului nostru Isus Cristos, care conform milei sale abundente ne-a născut din nou la o speranță vie prin învierea lui Isus Cristos dintre morți,
4 given us the new life of undying hope, that promises an inheritance, imperishable, stainless, unfading, which has been reserved for you in heaven –
Pentru o moștenire nemuritoare și neîntinată și care nu se ofilește, rezervată în cer pentru voi,
5 for you who, through faith, are being guarded by the power of God, awaiting a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last days.
Care sunteți păziți prin puterea lui Dumnezeu prin credință pentru salvarea pregătită să fie revelată în timpul de pe urmă.
6 At the thought of this you are full of exultation, though (if it has been necessary) you have suffered for the moment somewhat from various trials;
În aceasta vă bucurați mult, deși acum, pentru puțin timp, dacă este nevoie, sunteți întristați prin diverse ispitiri,
7 that the genuineness of your faith – a thing far more precious than gold, which is perishable, yet has to be tested by fire – may win praise and glory and honor at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Pentru ca încercarea credinței voastre, fiind mult mai prețioasă decât aurul care piere, deși este încercată cu foc, să fie găsită pentru laudă și onoare și glorie, la arătarea lui Isus Cristos,
8 Though you have never seen him, yet you love him; though you do not even now see him, yet you believe in him, and exalt with a triumphant happiness too great for words,
Pe care, nevăzându-l, îl iubiți; în care, deși acum nu îl vedeți, totuși crezând, vă bucurați cu veselie de nespus și plină de glorie,
9 as you receive the reward of your faith in the salvation of your souls!
Primind sfârșitul credinței voastre, salvarea sufletelor.
10 It was this salvation that the prophets, who spoke long ago of the blessing intended for you, sought, and strove to comprehend;
Despre acea salvare au cercetat și au căutat stăruitor profeții care au profețit despre harul ce va veni pentru voi,
11 as they strove to discern what that time could be, to which the Spirit of Christ within them was pointing, when foretelling the sufferings that Christ would have to endure, and the glories that would follow.
Căutând ce, sau [în] ce fel de timp arăta Duhul lui Cristos, care era în ei, când adeverea dinainte suferințele lui Cristos și gloria de după acestea.
12 And it was revealed to them that it was not for themselves, but for you, that they were acting as Ministers of the truths which have now been told to you, by those who, with the help of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, have brought you the good news – truths into which even angels long to look.
Cărora le-a fost revelat, că nu pentru ei înșiși ci pentru noi, serveau ei acele lucruri care vă sunt acum vestite, prin cei ce v-au predicat evanghelia cu Duhul Sfânt trimis din cer; lucruri în care îngerii doresc să se uite.
13 Therefore concentrate your minds, with the strictest self-control, and fix your hopes on the blessing that is coming for you at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
De aceea încingeți-vă coapsele minții voastre, fiți cumpătați și sperați până la capăt pentru harul care vă va fi adus la revelarea lui Isus Cristos;
14 Be like obedient children; do not let your lives be shaped by the passions which once swayed you in the days of your ignorance,
Precum copii ascultători, nu conformându-vă poftelor din trecut în ignoranța voastră,
15 but in your whole life show yourselves to be holy, after the pattern of the Holy One from whom you received your call.
Ci așa cum cel ce v-a chemat este sfânt, fiți și voi sfinți în toată comportarea;
16 For scripture says – ‘You will be holy, because I am holy.’
Deoarece este scris: Fiți sfinți, căci eu sunt sfânt.
17 And since you call on him as ‘Father,’ who judges everyone impartially by what he has done, let respectful awe be the spirit of your lives during the time of your stay on earth.
Și dacă chemați pe Tatăl, care judecă fără părtinire conform cu lucrarea fiecăruia, purtați-vă cu frică [în] timpul locuirii voastre temporare aici,
18 For you know that it was not by perishable things, such as silver and gold, that you were ransomed from the aimless way of living which was handed down to you from your ancestors,
Știind că nu ați fost răscumpărați cu lucruri putrezitoare, ca argint și aur, din comportarea voastră deșartă primită prin tradiții de la părinții voștri,
19 but by precious blood, as it were of a lamb, unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.
Ci cu prețiosul sânge al lui Cristos, ca al unui miel fără cusur și fără pată,
20 Destined for this before the beginning of the world, he has been revealed in these last days for your sakes,
Rânduit într-adevăr dinainte de întemeierea lumii, dar arătat pe față în aceste ultime timpuri pentru voi,
21 who, through him, are faithful to God who raised him from the dead and gave him honor, so that your faith and hope are now in God.
Care prin el credeți în Dumnezeu, care l-a înviat dintre morți și i-a dat glorie, astfel încât credința voastră și speranța să fie în Dumnezeu.
22 Now that, by your obedience to the truth, you have purified your lives, so that there is growing up among you a genuine affection, love one another earnestly with all your hearts;
Văzând că v-ați purificat sufletele în aceea că ascultați de adevăr prin Duhul, spre iubire neprefăcută pentru frați, iubiți-vă fervent unii pe alții dintr-o inimă pură,
23 since your new life has come, not from perishable, but imperishable, seed, through the message of the Everliving God. (aiōn g165)
Fiind născuți din nou, nu dintr-o sămânță putrezitoare, ci neputrezitoare, prin cuvântul lui Dumnezeu, care trăiește și rămâne pentru totdeauna. (aiōn g165)
24 For – ‘All earthly life is but as grass, and all its splendor as the flower of grass. The grass fades, its flower falls,
Pentru că toată făptura este ca iarba și toată gloria omului ca floarea ierbii. Iarba se ofilește și floarea ei cade,
