Zechariah 7
1 In the fourth year of the reign of King Darius, on the fourth day of Chislev, the ninth month, the message of the Lord came to Zechariah.
൧ദാര്യാവേശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ നാലാം വർഷത്തിൽ, കിസ്ളേവ് എന്ന ഒമ്പതാം മാസം, നാലാം തീയതി, സെഖര്യാവിന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായി.
2 The city of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech and their men, to entreat the favour of the Lord,
൨ബേഥേലുകാർ യഹോവയെ പ്രസാദിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന് സരേസരിനെയും രേഗെം-മേലെക്കിനെയും അവരുടെ ആളുകളെയും അയച്ചു,
3 and to ask the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts, and the prophets ‘Should I continue to mourn in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done for many years?’
൩സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടും: “ഞങ്ങൾ ഇത്ര വർഷമായി ചെയ്തുവന്നതുപോലെ അഞ്ചാം മാസത്തിൽ കരഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ട് ഉപവസിക്കണമോ?” എന്നു ചോദിപ്പിച്ചു.
4 Then this message of the Lord of hosts came to me:
൪അപ്പോൾ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് എനിക്ക് ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
5 Tell all the people of the land and the priests, ‘When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh month, for these seventy years, did you really fast for me?
൫“നീ ദേശത്തിലെ സകലജനത്തോടും പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും പറയേണ്ടത്: ‘നിങ്ങൾ ഈ എഴുപത് വർഷമായി അഞ്ചാം മാസത്തിലും ഏഴാം മാസത്തിലും ഉപവസിച്ചു വിലപിക്കുകയിൽ നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി തന്നെയോ ഉപവസിച്ചത്?
6 When you eat and when you drink, do you not eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?
൬നിങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോഴും പാനം ചെയ്യുമ്പോഴും നിങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി തന്നെയല്ലയോ ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും പാനം ചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നത്?
7 Wasn’t it this which the Lord proclaimed by the earlier prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and prosperous, and her towns surrounding her and the Negreb and the Shephelah were inhabited?’
൭യെരൂശലേമിനും അതിന്റെ ചുറ്റും അതിന്റെ ഉപനഗരങ്ങൾക്കും നിവാസികളും സ്വസ്ഥതയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നപ്പോഴും തെക്കെ ദേശത്തിനും താഴ്വീതിക്കും നിവാസികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നപ്പോഴും യഹോവ പണ്ടത്തെ പ്രവാചകന്മാർ മുഖാന്തരം പ്രസംഗിപ്പിച്ച വചനങ്ങളെ നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കേണ്ടതല്ലയോ?’”.
8 The Lord gave this message to Zechariah:
൮യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് സെഖര്യാവിനുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:
9 The Lord of hosts says, execute true judgments. Show kindness and mercy to each other.
൯“സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ‘നേരോടെ ന്യായം പാലിക്കുകയും ഓരോരുത്തൻ അവനവന്റെ സഹോദരനോട് ദയയും കരുണയും കാണിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുവിൻ.
10 Do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the resident foreigner or the poor. Let none of you devise evil against another in your hearts.
൧൦വിധവയെയും അനാഥനെയും പരദേശിയെയും ദരിദ്രനെയും പീഡിപ്പിക്കരുത്; നിങ്ങളിൽ ആരും തന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ നേരെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കുകയും അരുത്.’
11 But they refused to listen, and turned a stubborn shoulder, and stopped their ears so they wouldn’t hear.
൧൧എന്നാൽ ചെവികൊടുക്കുവാൻ അവർക്ക് മനസ്സില്ലായിരുന്നു; അവർ ദുശ്ശാഠ്യം കാണിക്കുകയും കേൾക്കാത്തവിധം ചെവി പൊത്തിക്കളയുകയും ചെയ്തു.
12 They made their hearts as hard as stone so they wouldn’t accept the teaching and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent by his spirit through the earlier prophets. Great was the anger of the Lord of hosts:
൧൨അവർ ന്യായപ്രമാണവും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനാൽ പണ്ടത്തെ പ്രവാചകന്മാർ മുഖാന്തരം അയച്ച വചനങ്ങളും കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്തവിധം ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ വജ്രംപോലെ കടുപ്പമാക്കി; അങ്ങനെ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയിങ്കൽനിന്നു ഒരു മഹാകോപം വന്നു.
13 I called and they would not hear, so they call and I do not hear, says the Lord of hosts.
൧൩‘ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ വിളിച്ചിട്ടും അവർ കേൾക്കാതിരുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നെ അവർ നിലവിളിക്കും; ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുകയുമില്ല’ എന്നു സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
14 I scattered them by a whirlwind out among nations unknown to them. The land was left desolate behind them, with no one crossing or returning, for they made the pleasant land a desolation.
൧൪‘ഞാൻ ഒരു ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുകൊണ്ട് അവരെ അവർ അറിയാത്ത സകലജനതകളുടെയും ഇടയിൽ പാറ്റിക്കളഞ്ഞു; ദേശം ആൾ സഞ്ചാരമില്ലാത്തവിധം അവരുടെ പിമ്പിൽ ശൂന്യമായിത്തീർന്നു; അങ്ങനെ അവർ മനോഹരദേശത്തെ ശൂന്യമാക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു’”.
