Romans 1
1 From Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, who has been called to become an apostle, and has been set apart to tell God’s good news.
Paweł, sługa Jezusa Chrystusa, powołany Apostoł, odłączony ku opowiadaniu Ewangielii Bożej;
2 This good news God promised long ago through his prophets in the sacred scriptures,
Którą przedtem obiecał przez proroki swoje w pismach świętych,
3 concerning his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord; who, as to his human nature, was descended from David,
O Synu swoim, który się narodził z nasienia Dawidowego według ciała;
4 but, as to the spirit of holiness within him, was miraculously designated Son of God by his resurrection from the dead.
A pokazał się Synem Bożym możnie, według Ducha poświęcenia, przez zmartwychwstanie, to jest o Jezusie Chrystusie, Panu naszym.
5 Through him we received the gift of the apostolic office, to win submission to the faith among all nations for the glory of his name.
Przez którego wzięliśmy łaskę i urząd apostolski ku posłuszeństwu wiary między wszystkimi narody, dla imienia jego;
6 And among these nations are you – you who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.
Między którymi jesteście i wy powołani od Jezusa Chrystusa.
7 To all in Rome who are dear to God and have been called to become Christ’s people, may God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and give you peace.
Wszystkim, którzy jesteście w Rzymie, umiłowanym Bożym, powołanym świętym, łaska niech będzie wam i pokój od Boga, Ojca naszego, i od Pana Jezusa Chrystusa.
8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, because the report of your faith is spreading throughout the world.
Najprzód tedy dziękuję Bogu mojemu przez Jezusa Chrystusa za was wszystkich, iż wiara wasza słynie po wszystkim świecie.
9 God, to whom I offer the worship of my soul as I tell the goodness of his Son, is my witness how constantly I mention you when I pray,
Świadkiem mi bowiem jest on Bóg, któremu służę w duchu moim w Ewangielii Syna jego, iż bez przestanku wzmiankę o was czynię,
10 asking that, if he be willing, I may some day at last find the way open to visit you.
Zawsze w modlitwach moich prosząc, iżby mi się wżdy kiedykolwiek droga zdarzyła za wolą Bożą przyjść do was.
11 For I long to see you, in order to impart to you some spiritual gift and so give you fresh strength –
Albowiem pragnę was widzieć, abym wam mógł udzielić jakiego daru duchownego ku utwierdzeniu waszemu;
12 or rather that both you and I may find encouragement in each other’s faith.
To jest, abyśmy się u was zobopólnie ucieszyli przez społeczną wiarę, i waszę, i moję.
13 I want you to know, my friends, that I have many times intended coming to see you – but until now I have been prevented – that I might find among you some fruit of my labours, as I have already among the other nations.
A nie chcę, abyście i wy wiedzieć nie mieli, bracia! żem często zamyślał pójść do was; (alem był dotąd zawściągniony), abym miał jaki pożytek i między wami, jako i między inszymi pogany.
14 I have a duty to both the Greek and the barbarian, to both the cultured and the ignorant.
I Grekom, i grubym narodom, i mądrym, i głupim jestem dłużnikiem,
15 And so, for my part, I am ready to tell the good news to you also who are in Rome.
Tak, iż ile ze mnie jest, gotowym jest i wam, którzyście w Rzymie, Ewangieliję opowiadać.
16 For I am not ashamed of the good news; it is the power of God which brings salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, but also to the Greek.
Albowiem nie wstydzę się za Ewangieliję Chrystusową, ponieważ jest mocą Bożą ku zbawieniu każdemu wierzącemu, Żydowi najprzód, potem i Greczynowi.
17 For in it there is a revelation of the divine righteousness resulting from faith and leading on to faith; as scripture says – “Through faith the righteous will find life.”
Bo sprawiedliwość Boża w niej bywa objawiona z wiary w wiarę, jako napisano: Że sprawiedliwy z wiary żyć będzie.
18 So, too, there is a revelation from heaven of the divine wrath against every form of ungodliness and wickedness on the part of those people who, by their wicked lives, are stifling the truth.
Bo gniew Boży objawia się z nieba przeciwko wszelkiej niepobożności i niesprawiedliwości tych ludzi, którzy zatrzymują prawdę Bożą w niesprawiedliwości.
19 This is so, because what can be known about God is plain to them; for God himself has made it plain.
Przeto iż co może być wiedziano o Bogu, jest w nich jawno, gdyż im Bóg objawił.
20 For ever since the creation of the universe God’s invisible attributes – his everlasting power and divinity – are to be seen and studied in his works, so that people have no excuse; (aïdios g126)
Bo rzeczy jego niewidzialne od stworzenia świata, przez rzeczy uczynione widzialne bywają, to jest ona wieczna jego moc i bóstwo, na to, aby oni byli bez wymówki. (aïdios g126)
21 because, although they learned to know God, yet they did not offer him as God either praise or thanksgiving. Their speculations about him proved futile, and their undiscerning minds were darkened.
Przeto iż poznawszy Boga, nie chwalili jako Boga, ani mu dziękowali, owszem znikczemnieli w myślach swoich i zaćmiło się bezrozumne serce ich;
22 Professing to be wise, they showed themselves fools;
Mieniąc się być mądrymi, zgłupieli;
23 and they transformed the glory of the immortal God into the likeness of mortal humans, and of birds, and beasts, and reptiles.
I odmienili chwałę nieskazitelnego Boga w podobieństwo obrazu skazitelnego człowieka i ptaków, i czworonogich zwierząt, i płazów.
24 Therefore God abandoned them to impurity, letting them follow the cravings of their hearts, until they dishonoured their own bodies;
A przetoż podał je Bóg pożądliwościom serc ich ku nieczystości, aby lżyli ciała swoje między sobą,
25 for they had substituted a lie for the truth about God, and had reverenced and worshiped created things more than the Creator, who is to be praised for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
Jako te, którzy odmienili prawdę Bożą w kłamstwo i chwalili stworzenie, i służyli mu raczej niż Stworzycielowi, który jest błogosławiony na wieki. Amen. (aiōn g165)
26 That, I say, is why God abandoned them to degrading passions. Even the women among them perverted the natural use of their bodies to the unnatural;
Dlatego podał je Bóg w namiętności sromotne, gdyż i niewiasty ich odmieniły używanie przyrodzone w ono, które jest przeciwko przyrodzeniu.
27 while the men, disregarding that for which women were intended by nature, were consumed with passion for one another. Men indulged in vile practices with men, and incurred in their own persons the inevitable penalty for their perverseness.
Także i mężczyźni opuściwszy przyrodzone używanie niewiasty, zapalili się w swej pożądliwości jedni ku drugim, mężczyzna z mężczyzną hańbę płodząc, a nagrodę należącą błędowi swemu na się biorąc.
28 Then, as they would not keep God before their minds, God abandoned them to depraved thoughts, so that they did all kinds of shameful things.
A jako się im nie upodobało mieć w znajomości Boga, tak też Bóg je podał w umysł opaczny, aby czynili, co nie przystoi;
29 They revelled in every form of wickedness, evil, greed, vice. Their lives were full of envy, murder, quarrelling, treachery, malice.
Napełnieni będąc wszelakiej nieprawości, wszeteczeństwa, przewrotności, łakomstwa, złości, pełni zazdrości, morderstwa, sporu, zdrady, złych obyczajów;
30 They became back-biters, slanderers, impious, insolent, boastful. They devised new sins. They disobeyed their parents.
Zausznicy, obmówcy, Boga nienawidzący, potwarcy, pyszni, chlubni, wynalazcy złych rzeczy, rodzicom nieposłuszni,
31 They were undiscerning, untrustworthy, without natural affection or pity.
Bezrozumni, przymierza nie trzymający, bez przyrodzonej miłości, nieprzejednani i niemiłosierni;
32 Well aware of God’s decree, that those who do such things deserve to die, not only are they guilty of them themselves, but they even applaud those who do them.
Którzy poznawszy prawo Boże, iż ci, co takowe rzeczy czynią, godni są śmierci, nie tylko sami je czynią, ale też przestawają z tymi, co je czynią.
