Psalms 124

1 A song of ascents. Of David. ‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us’ let Israel say

O cântare a treptelor, a lui David. De nu ar fi fost DOMNUL de partea noastră, să spună Israel;

2 ‘Had it not been the Lord who was for us when enemies rose against us,

De nu ar fi fost DOMNUL de partea noastră, când oameni s-au ridicat împotriva noastră,

3 then alive they’d have swallowed us up, when their anger was kindled against us.

Atunci ei ne-ar fi înghițit de vii, când furia lor s-a aprins împotriva noastră;

4 Then the waters would’ve swept us away, and the torrent passed over us clean:

Atunci apele ne-ar fi copleșit, pârâul ar fi trecut peste sufletul nostru;

5 then most sure would’ve passed over us clean the wild seething waters.’

Atunci apele umflate ar fi trecut peste sufletul nostru.

6 Blest be the Lord who has given us not to be torn by their teeth.

Binecuvântat fie DOMNUL, care nu ne-a dat ca pradă pentru dinții lor.

7 We are like a bird just escaped from the snare of the fowler. The snare is broken, and we are escaped.

Sufletul nostru a scăpat ca o pasăre din plasa păsărarilor, plasa s-a rupt și noi am scăpat.

8 Our help is the name of the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth.

Ajutorul nostru este în numele DOMNULUI, care a făcut cerul și pământul.
