Luke 22
1 The feast of the unleavened bread, known as the Passover, was near.
Elközelgetett pedig a kovásztalan kenyerek ünnepe, mely husvétnak mondatik.
2 The chief priest and the teachers of the Law were looking for an opportunity of destroying Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.
És a főpapok és az írástudók keresnek vala módot, hogyan öljék meg őt; mert féltek a néptől.
3 Now Satan took possession of Judas, who was known as Iscariot, and who belonged to the Twelve;
Beméne pedig a Sátán Júdásba, ki Iskáriótesnek neveztetik, és a tizenkettőnek számából vala;
4 and he went and discussed with the chief priests and officers in charge at the Temple the best way of betraying Jesus to them.
És elmenvén, megbeszélé a főpapokkal és a vezérekkel, mimódon adja őt nékik kezökbe.
5 They were glad of this, and agreed to pay him.
És azok örülének, és megszerződének, hogy pénzt adnak néki;
6 So Judas assented, and looked for an opportunity to betray Jesus to them, in the absence of a crowd.
Ő pedig megigéré, és keres vala jó alkalmat, hogy őt nékik kezökbe adja zenebona nélkül.
7 When the day of the Festival of the unleavened bread came, on which the Passover lambs had to be killed,
Eljöve pedig a kovásztalan kenyerek napja, melyen meg kelle öletni a husvéti báránynak;
8 Jesus sent forward Peter and John, saying to them, ‘Go and make preparations for our eating the Passover.’
És elküldé Pétert és Jánost, mondván: Elmenvén, készítsétek el nékünk a husvéti bárányt, hogy megegyük.
9 ‘Where do you wish us to make preparations?’ they asked.
Ők pedig mondának néki: Hol akarod, hogy elkészítsük?
10 ‘Listen,’ he answered, ‘when you have reached the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you; follow him into whatever house he enters;
És ő monda nékik: Ímé, mikor bementek a városba, szembe jő veletek egy ember, ki egy korsó vizet visz; kövessétek őt abba a házba, a melybe bemegy.
11 and you will say to the owner of the house “The teacher says to you – Where is the room where I am to eat the Passover with my disciples?”
És mondjátok a ház gazdájának: Ezt mondja néked a Mester: Hol van az a szállás, a hol megeszem az én tanítványaimmal a husvéti bárányt?
12 The man will show you a large upstairs room, set out; there make preparations.’
És ő mutat néktek egy nagy vacsoráló helyet, berendezve, ott készítsétek el.
13 So Peter and John went on, and found everything just as Jesus had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
Elmenvén pedig, úgy találák, a mint mondta nékik; és elkészíték a húsvéti bárányt.
14 When the time came, Jesus took his place at the table, and the apostles with him.
És mikor eljött az idő, asztalhoz üle, és a tizenkét apostol ő vele egyetembe.
15 ‘I have most earnestly wished,’ he said, ‘to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.
És monda nékik: Kívánva kívántam a husvéti bárányt megenni veletek, melőtt én szenvednék:
16 For I tell you that I will not eat it again, until it has had its fulfilment in the kingdom of God.’
Mert mondom néktek, hogy többé nem eszem abból, míglen beteljesedik az Isten országában.
17 Then, on receiving a cup, after saying the thanksgiving, he said, ‘Take this and share it among you.
És a pohárt vévén, minekutána hálákat adott, monda: Vegyétek ezt, és osszátok el magatok között:
18 For I tell you that I will not, after today, drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God has come.’
Mert mondom néktek, hogy nem iszom a szőlőtőkének gyümölcséből, míglen eljő az Isten országa.
19 Then Jesus took some bread, and, after saying the thanksgiving, broke it and gave to them, with the words, ‘This is my body.
És minekutána a kenyeret vette, hálákat adván megszegé, és adá nékik, mondván: Ez az én testem, mely ti érettetek adatik: ezt cselekedjétek az én emlékezetemre.
Hasonlóképen a pohárt is, minekutána vacsorált, ezt mondván: E pohár amaz új szövetség az én véremben, mely ti érettetek kiontatik.
21 Yet see! The hand of the man who is betraying me is beside me on the table!
De ímé annak a keze, a ki engem elárul, velem van az asztalon.
22 True, the Son of Man is passing, by the way ordained for him, yet alas for that man by whom he is being betrayed!’
És az embernek Fia jóllehet, elmegy, mint elvégeztetett: de jaj annak az embernek, a ki által elárultatik!
23 Then they began questioning one another which of them it could be who was going to do this.
És ők kezdék egymás között kérdezni, vajjon ki lehet az ő közöttük, a ki ezt meg fogja tenni?
24 And a dispute arose among them as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest.
Támada pedig köztük versengés is, hogy ki tekinthető köztük nagyobbnak.
25 Jesus, however, said, ‘The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their oppressors are styled “Benefactors.”
Ő pedig monda nékik: A pogányokon uralkodnak az ő királyaik, és a kiknek azokon hatalmuk van, jóltévőknek hivatnak.
26 But with you it must not be so. No, let the greatest among you become like the youngest, and him who leads like him who serves.
De ti nem úgy: hanem a ki legnagyobb köztetek, olyan legyen, mint a ki legkisebb; és a ki fő, mint a ki szolgál.
27 Which is the greater – the master at the table or his servant? Is not it the master at the table? Yet I myself am among you as one who serves.
Mert melyik nagyobb, az-é, a ki asztalnál ül, vagy a ki szolgál? nemde a ki asztalnál ül? De én ti köztetek olyan vagyok, mint a ki szolgál.
28 You are the men who have stood by me in my trials;
Ti vagytok pedig azok, kik megmaradtatok én velem az én kísérteteimben;
29 and, just as my Father has assigned me a kingdom, I assign you places,
Én azért adok néktek, miképen az én Atyám adott nékem, országot,
30 so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and be seated on twelve thrones as judges of the twelve tribes of Israel.
Hogy egyetek és igyatok az én asztalomon az én országomban, és üljetek királyi székeken, ítélvén az Izráelnek tizenkét nemzetségét.
31 Simon! Simon! listen. Satan demanded leave to sift you all like wheat,
Monda pedig az Úr: Simon! Simon! ímé a Sátán kikért titeket, hogy megrostáljon, mint a búzát;
32 but I prayed for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. And you, when you have returned to me, are to strengthen the others.’
De én imádkoztam érted, hogy el ne fogyatkozzék a te hited: te azért idővel megtérvén, a te atyádfiait erősítsed.
33 ‘Master,’ said Peter, ‘with you I am ready to go both to prison and to death.’
Ő pedig monda néki: Uram, te veled kész vagyok mind tömlöczre, mind halálra menni!
34 ‘I tell you, Peter,’ replied Jesus, ‘the cock will not crow today until you have disowned all knowledge of me three times.’
És ő monda: Mondom néked Péter: Ma nem szól addig a kakas, míg te háromszor meg nem tagadod, hogy ismersz engem.
35 Then he said to them all, ‘When I sent you out as my messengers, without either purse, or bag, or sandals, were you in need of anything?’ ‘No; nothing,’ they answered.
És monda nékik: Mikor elküldtelek benneteket erszény, táska és saru nélkül, volt-é valamiben fogyatkozástok? Ők pedig mondának: Semmiben sem.
36 ‘Now, however,’ he said, ‘he who has a purse must take it and his bag as well; and he who has not must sell his cloak and buy a sword.
Monda azért nékik: De most, a kinek erszénye van elővegye, hasonlóképen a táskát; és a kinek nincs, adja el felső ruháját, és vegyen szablyát.
37 For, I tell you, that passage of scripture must be fulfilled in me, which says – “He was counted among the godless”; indeed all that refers to me is finding its fulfilment.’
Mert mondom néktek, hogy még ennek az írásnak be kell teljesülni rajtam, hogy: És a gonoszok közé számláltatott. Mert a mik reám vonatkoznak is, elvégeztetnek.
38 ‘Master,’ they exclaimed, ‘look, here are two swords!’ ‘Enough!’ said Jesus.
Azok pedig mondának: Uram, ímé van itt két szablya. Ő pedig monda: Elég.
39 Jesus then went out, and made his way as usual to the Mount of Olives, followed by his disciples.
És kimenvén, méne az ő szokása szerint az Olajfák hegyére; követék pedig őt az ő tanítványai is.
40 And, when he reached the spot, he said to them, ‘Pray that you may not fall into temptation.’
És mikor ott a helyen vala, monda nékik: Imádkozzatok, hogy kísértetbe ne essetek.
41 Then he withdrew about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and began to pray.
És ő eltávozék tőlök mintegy kőhajításnyira; és térdre esvén, imádkozék,
42 ‘Father,’ he said, ‘if it is your pleasure, spare me this cup; only, not my will but your be done.’
Mondván: Atyám, ha akarod, távoztasd el tőlem e pohárt; mindazáltal ne az én akaratom, hanem a tiéd legyen!
43 Presently there appeared to him an angel from heaven, who strengthened him.
És angyal jelenék meg néki mennyből, erősítvén őt.
44 And, as his anguish became intense, he prayed still more earnestly, while his sweat was like great drops of blood falling on the ground.
És haláltusában lévén, buzgóságosabban imádkozék; és az ő verítéke olyan vala, mint a nagy vércseppek, melyek a földre hullanak.
45 Then he rose from praying, and came to the disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow.
És minekutána fölkelt az imádkozástól, az ő tanítványaihoz menvén, aludva találá őket a szomorúság miatt,
46 ‘Why are you asleep?’ he asked them. ‘Rise and pray so that you don’t fall into temptation.’
És monda nékik: Mit alusztok? Keljetek fel és imádkozzatok, hogy kísértetbe ne essetek.
47 While he was still speaking, a crowd appeared in sight, led by the man called Judas, who was one of the Twelve. Judas approached Jesus, to kiss him;
És mikor még beszéle, ímé sokaság jöve, melynek az méne előtte, a ki Júdásnak neveztetik, egy a tizenkettő közül: és közelgete Jézushoz, hogy őt megcsókolja.
48 at which Jesus said to him, ‘Judas, is it by a kiss that you betray the Son of Man?’
Jézus pedig monda néki: Júdás, csókkal árulod el az embernek Fiát?
49 But when those who were round Jesus saw what was going to happen, they exclaimed, ‘Master, should we use our swords?’
Látván pedig azok, a kik ő körülötte valának, a mi következik, mondának néki: Uram, vágjuk-é őket fegyverrel?
50 And one of them struck the high priest’s servant and cut off his right ear;
És közülök valaki megvágá a főpap szolgáját, és levágá annak jobb fülét.
51 at which Jesus said, ‘Let me at least do this’; and, touching his ear, he healed the wound.
Felelvén pedig Jézus, monda: Elég eddig. És illetvén annak fülét, meggyógyítá azt.
52 Then, turning to the chief priests and officers in charge at the Temple and the elders, who had come for him, he said, ‘Have you come out, as if after a robber, with swords and clubs?
Monda pedig Jézus azoknak, a kik ő hozzá mentek, a főpapoknak, a templom tisztjeinek és a véneknek: Mint valami latorra, úgy jöttetek szablyákkal és fustélyokkal?
53 When I was with you day after day in the Temple Courts, you did not lay hands on me; but now your time has come, and the power of darkness.’
Mikor minden nap veletek voltam a templomban, a ti kezeiteket nem vetétek én reám; de ez a ti órátok, és a sötétségnek hatalma.
54 Those who had taken Jesus prisoner took him away into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance.
Megfogván azért őt, elvezeték, és elvivék a főpap házába. Péter pedig követi vala távol.
55 But, when they had lit a fire in the centre of the courtyard and had all sat down there, Peter seated himself in the middle of them.
És mikor tüzet gerjesztettek az udvar közepén, és ők együtt leültek, Péter is leüle ő velök.
56 Presently a maidservant saw him sitting near the blaze of the fire. She looked carefully at him and said, ‘Why, this man was one of his companions!’
És meglátván őt egy szolgálóleány, a mint a világosságnál ült, szemeit reá vetvén, monda: Ez is ő vele vala!
57 But Peter denied it. ‘I do not know him,’ he replied.
Ő pedig megtagadá őt, mondván: Asszony, nem ismerem őt!
58 A little while afterwards someone else – a man – saw him and said, ‘Why, you are one of them!’ ‘No,’ Peter said, ‘I am not.’
És egy kevéssel azután más látván őt, monda: Te is azok közül való vagy! Péter pedig monda: Ember, nem vagyok!
59 About an hour later another man declared positively, ‘This man also was certainly with him. Why, he is a Galilean!’
És úgy egy óra mulva más valaki erősíté, mondván: Bizony ez is vele vala: mert Galileából való is.
60 But Peter said, ‘I do not know what you are speaking about.’ Instantly, while he was still speaking, a cock crowed.
Monda pedig Péter: Ember, nem tudom, mit mondasz! És azonnal, mikor ő még beszélt, megszólalt a kakas.
61 And the Master turned and looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the words that the Master had said to him – ‘Before a cock has crowed today, you will disown me three times’;
És hátra fordulván az Úr, tekinte Péterre. És megemlékezék Péter az Úr szaváról, a mint néki mondta: Mielőtt a kakas szól, háromszor megtagadsz engem.
62 and he went outside and wept bitterly.
És kimenvén Péter, keservesen síra.
63 The men who held Jesus kept making sport of him and beating him.
És azok a férfiak, a kik fogva tarták Jézust, csúfolják vala, vervén őt.
64 They blindfolded him and then questioned him. ‘Now play the prophet,’ they said. ‘Who was it that struck you?’
És szemeit betakarván, arczul csapdosák őt, és kérdezék őt, mondván: Prófétáld meg ki az, a ki téged vere?
65 And they heaped many other insults on him.
És sok egyéb dolgot mondának néki, szidalmazván őt.
66 At daybreak the assembly of the elders of the people met – both the chief priests and the teachers of the Law – and took Jesus before their High Council.
És a mint nappal lett, egybegyűle a nép véneinek tanácsa, főpapok és írástudók: és vivék őt az ő gyülekezetükbe,
67 ‘If you are the Christ,’ they said, ‘tell us so.’ ‘If I tell you,’ replied Jesus, ‘you will not believe me;
Mondván: Ha te vagy a Krisztus, mondd meg nékünk. Monda pedig nékik: Ha mondom néktek, nem hiszitek:
68 and, if I question you, you will not answer.
De ha kérdezlek is, nem feleltek nékem, sem el nem bocsátotok.
69 But from this hour the Son of Man will be seated on the right hand of God Almighty.’
Mostantól fogva ül az embernek Fia az Isten hatalmának jobbja felől.
70 ‘Are you, then, the Son of God?’ they all asked. ‘It is true,’ answered Jesus, ‘I am.’
Mondának pedig mindnyájan: Te vagy tehát az Isten Fia? Ő pedig monda nékik: Ti mondjátok, hogy én vagyok!
71 At this they exclaimed, ‘Why do we want any more evidence? We have heard it ourselves from his own lips!’
Azok pedig mondának: Mi szükségünk van még bizonyságra? Hiszen mi magunk hallottuk az ő szájából.
