Hosea 3

1 Then the Lord said to me, ‘Go again, show love to this woman, who is loved by another, who commits adultery. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods, and love the raisin cakes offered to idols.

Und wieder sprach der Herr zu mir: "Auf! Geh, mit einem Weibe einen Liebeshandel abzuschließen, das sich von Freunden lieben läßt und sich mit anderen vergeht! So, wie der Herr den Söhnen Israels auch seine Liebe schenkt, obschon sie sich zu andern Göttern wenden und andre Lager lieben!"

2 So I redeemed her for fifteen pieces of silver and a homer and a lethek of barley.

So ward ich denn mit einer solchen einig für fünfzehn Silberlinge und für anderthalb Maß Gerste.

3 And I told her, ‘You must live with me for many days and you must not sleep around or marry another. And I will do the same for you.

Ich sprach zu ihr: "Du sollst mir viele Tage dasitzen und keine Unzucht treiben, mit keinem andere Manne dich abgeben. Jedoch auch ich will für mich leben."

4 And like this the Israelites will live for a long time without king and without prince, without sacrifice and without pillar, without ephod and without teraphim.

Denn viele Tage müssen die Söhne Israels dasitzen. Kein König und kein Fürst ist da, kein Opfer und kein Bild, kein Ephod, keine Teraphim.

5 Yet afterward the Israelites will return, and seek the Lord their God and their Davidic king, and in the days to come they will turn with awe to the Lord and his goodness.

Alsdann bekehren sich die Söhne Israels und suchen nach dem Herren, ihrem Gott, und David, ihrem König. Sie eilen in der Tage letzten Zeit voll Furcht zum Herrn und seinem Segen.
