Ephesians 6
1 Children, obey your parents, as children of the Lord; for that is but right.
Vós, filhos, sede obedientes a vossos pais no Senhor, porque isto é justo.
2 “Honour your father and mother” – this is the first Commandment with a promise –
Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe, que é o primeiro mandamento com promessa,
3 “so that you may prosper and have a long life on earth.”
Para que te vá bem, e vivas muito tempo sobre a terra.
4 And fathers, do not irritate your children, but bring them up with Christian discipline and instruction.
E vós, pais, não provoqueis a ira a vossos filhos, mas criai-os na doutrina e admoestação do Senhor.
5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters, with anxious care, giving them ungrudging service, as if obeying the Christ;
Vós, servos, obedecei a vossos senhores segundo a carne, com temor e tremor, na sinceridade de vosso coração, como a Cristo;
6 not only when their eyes are on you, as if you had merely to please people, but as slaves of Christ, who are trying to carry out the will of God.
Não servindo à vista, como agradando a homens, mas como servos de Cristo, fazendo de coração a vontade de Deus,
7 Give your service heartily and cheerfully, as working for the Master and not for people;
Servindo de boa vontade ao Senhor, e não aos homens.
8 for you know that everyone will be rewarded by the Master for any honest work that he has done, whether he is a slave or free.
Sabendo que cada um receberá do Senhor todo o bem que fizer, seja servo, seja livre.
9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same spirit. Give up threatening them; for you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and that before him there is no distinction of rank.
E vós senhores, fazei o mesmo para com eles, deixando as ameaças, sabendo também que o Senhor deles e vosso está no céu, e que para com ele não há acepção de pessoas.
10 For the future, find strength in your union with the Lord, and in the power which comes from his might.
No demais, irmãos meus, fortalecei-vos no Senhor e na força do seu poder.
11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground against the stratagems of the devil.
Revesti-vos de toda a armadura de Deus, para que possais estar firmes contra as astutas ciladas do diabo.
12 For ours is no struggle against enemies of flesh and blood, but against all the various powers of evil that hold sway in the darkness around us, against the spirits of wickedness on high. (aiōn g165)
Porque não temos que lutar contra a carne e o sangue, mas sim contra os principados, contra as potestades, contra os príncipes das trevas deste século, contra as malícias espirituais em os ares. (aiōn g165)
13 Therefore take up the full armour of God, so that when the evil day comes, you may be able to withstand the attack, and, having fought to the end, still to stand your ground.
Portanto tomai toda a armadura de Deus, para que possais resistir no dia mau, e, havendo feito tudo, ficar firmes.
14 Stand your ground, then, with truth for your belt, and with righteousness for your breastplate,
Estai pois firmes, tendo cingidos os vossos lombos com a verdade, e vestidos com a couraça da justiça;
15 and with the readiness to serve the good news of peace as shoes for your feet.
E calçados os pés com a preparação do evangelho da paz
16 At every onslaught take up faith for your shield; for with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.
Tomando sobretudo o escudo da fé, com o qual possais apagar todos os dardos inflamados do maligno.
17 And receive the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit – which is the message of God – always with prayer and supplication.
Tomai também o capacete da salvação, e a espada do espírito, que é a palavra de Deus:
18 Pray in spirit at all times. Be intent on this, with unwearying perseverance and supplication for all Christ’s people –
Orando em todo o tempo com toda a oração e súplica em espírito, e vigiando nisto com toda a perseverança e súplica por todos os santos,
19 and on my behalf also, so that when I begin to speak, words may be given me, so that I may fearlessly make known the inmost truth of the good news,
E por mim; para que me seja dada, no abrir da minha boca, a palavra com confiança, para fazer notório o mistério do evangelho.
20 on behalf of which I am an ambassador – in chains! Pray that, in telling it, I may speak fearlessly as I ought.
Pelo qual sou embaixador em cadeias; para que possa falar dele livremente, como me convém falar.
21 To enable you, as well as others, to know all that concerns me and what I am doing, Tychicus, our dear friend and faithful helper in the Master’s cause, will tell you everything.
Ora, para que vós também possais saber os meus negócios, e o que eu faço, Tycico, irmão amado, e fiel ministro do Senhor, vos informará de tudo.
22 I am sending him to you on purpose that you may learn all about us, and that he may cheer your hearts.
O qual vos enviei para o mesmo fim, para que saibais os nossos negócios, e ele console os vossos corações.
23 May God, the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ give every follower peace, and love linked with faith.
Paz seja com os irmãos, e caridade com fé da parte de Deus Pai e da do Senhor Jesus Cristo.
24 May God’s blessing be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
A graça seja com todos os que amam a nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo em sinceridade. amém.
