< Psalms 81 >

1 Sing aloud to God, our strength! Make a joyful shout to the God of Jacob [Supplanter]!
Dura Buʼaa Faarfattootaatiif. Faarfannaa Asaaf Kan Gitiitiidhaan Faarfatamu. Waaqa jabina nuu taʼeef gammachuudhaan faarfadhaa; Waaqa Yaaqoobiitiif gammachuudhaan ililchaa!
2 Raise a song, and bring here the tambourine, the pleasant lyre with the harp.
Faarfachuu jalqabaa; dibbees rukutaa; baganaa fi kiraara sagalee gaarii qabu rukutaa.
3 Blow the shofar ·ram horn· at the New Moon, at the full moon, on our feast day.
Yeroo Baatiin dhalattu, yommuu jiʼi goobanutti, guyyaa ayyaana keenyaa malakata afuufaa;
4 For it is a statute for Israel [God prevails], an judgement of the God of Jacob [Supplanter].
kun seera Israaʼeliif kenname, ajaja Waaqa Yaaqoob.
5 He appointed it in Joseph [May he add] for a testimony, when he went out over the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], I sh'ma ·heard obeyed· a language that I didn’t know.
Inni yeroo biyya Gibxi dhaʼuuf baʼetti, waan kana Yoosefiif seera godhee dhaabe. Anis afaan duraan hin beekin tokko dhagaʼe.
6 “I removed his shoulder from the burden. His hands were freed from the basket.
Innis akkana jedhe; “Ani gatiittii isaanii irraa baʼaa buuseera; harki isaanis guuboo baachuu jalaa baʼe.
7 You called in trouble, and I delivered you. I answered you in the secret place of thunder. I tested you at the waters of Meribah [Quarreling].” (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
Ati dhiphina kee keessatti na waammatte; anis sin oolche; anis lafa bakakkaan itti dhokatu keessaa deebii siifin kenne; bishaan Mariibaa birattis sin qore.
8 “Sh'ma ·Hear obey·, my people, and I will testify to you, Israel [God prevails], if you would listen to me!
“Yaa saba koo dhagaʼi; ani siin akeekkachiisa; yaa Israaʼel ati utuu na dhaggeeffate!
9 There shall be no strange deity in you, neither shall you hawa ·bow low, prostrate· to worship any foreign deity.
Waaqni ormaa tokko iyyuu isin gidduu hin jiraatin; ana malee waaqa biraa hin waaqeffatin.
10 I am Adonai, your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery]. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Ani Waaqayyo Waaqa kee, kan Gibxii baasee isin fidee dha. Afaan kee balʼisii banadhu; ani nan guutaa.
11 But my people didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· my voice. Israel [God prevails] desired none of me.
“Sabni koo garuu na hin dhaggeeffanne; Israaʼel anaaf hin bulle.
12 So I let them go after the stubbornness of their hearts, that they might walk in their own counsels.
Kanaafuu ani akka isaan karaa fedhii isaanii deemaniif dabarsee mata jabina isaaniitti isaan kenne.
13 Oh that my people would sh'ma ·hear obey· me, that Israel [God prevails] would walk in my ways!
“Utuu sabni koo na dhaggeeffatee, utuu Israaʼel karaa koo irra deemee jiraatee,
14 I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn my hand against their adversaries.
ani silaa akkam dafee diinota isaanii jilbeenfachiisee harka koos amajaajota isaaniitti nan kaasa ture!
15 The haters of Adonai would cringe before him, and their punishment would last forever.
Warri Waaqayyoon jibban fuula isaa duratti ni gugguufu; adabbiin isaaniis bara baraan itti fufa.
16 But he would have also fed them with the finest of the wheat. I will satisfy you with honey out of the rock.”
Ani garuu qamadii qulqulluu isin soora; damma kattaa keessaa baafames isinan quubsa.”
