Psalms 52
1 Why do you boast of mischief, mighty man? God’s chesed ·loving-kindness· endures continually.
Přednímu z kantorů, vyučující žalm Davidův. Když přišel Doeg Idumejský, a zvěstoval Saulovi, a pověděl mu, že David všel do domu Achimelechova. Proč se chlubíš nešlechetností, ty mocný? Milosrdenstvíť Boha silného trvá každého dne.
2 Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
Těžkosti obmýšlí jazyk tvůj, tak jako břitva nabroušená lest provodí.
3 You 'ahavta ·affectionately love· evil more than good, lying rather than speaking the truth. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
Miluješ zlé více než dobré, raději lež mluvíš než spravedlnost. (Sélah)
4 You 'ahavta ·affectionately love· all devouring words, you deceitful tongue.
Miluješ všelijaké řeči k sehlcení, a jazyk ošemetný.
5 God will likewise destroy you forever. He will take you up, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
I tebeť Bůh silný zkazí na věky, pochytí tě, a vytrhne tě z stánku, a vykoření z země živých. (Sélah)
6 The upright also will see it, and fear, and laugh at him, saying,
Což spravedliví vidouce, budou se báti a jemu posmívati:
7 “Behold, this is the man who didn’t make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
Aj, toť jest ten člověk, kterýž neskládal v Bohu síly své, ale doufaje ve množství bohatství svých, zmocňoval se v zlosti své.
8 But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s chesed ·loving-kindness· forever and ever.
Já pak budu jako oliva zelenající se v domě Božím; neboť jsem naději složil v milosrdenství Božím na věky věků.
9 I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you forever, because you have done it. I will hope in your name, for it is good, in the presence of your saints.
Oslavovati tě budu, Pane, na věky, že jsi to učinil, a poshovím na jméno tvé, neboť jest vzácné před oblíčejem svatých tvých.
