Psalms 5
1 Give ear to my words, Adonai. Consider my (meditation)
Přednímu zpěváku na nechilot, žalm Davidův. Slova má slyš, Hospodine, porozuměj tužebnému úpění mému.
2 Listen to the voice of my cry, my King and my God; for to you do I pray.
Pozoruj hlasu volání mého, králi můj a Bože můj; nebo se tobě modlím.
3 Adonai, in the morning you shall sh'ma ·hear obey· my voice. In the morning I will lay my requests before you, and will watch expectantly.
Hospodine, v jitře vyslyšíš hlas můj, v jitře předložím tobě žádost, a šetřiti budu.
4 For you are not a God who has pleasure in ethical wickedness. Evil can’t live with you.
Nebo ty, ó Bože silný, neoblibuješ bezbožnosti, nemá místa u tebe nešlechetník.
5 The arrogant shall not stand in your sight. You hate all workers of vain striving of iniquity.
Neostojí blázniví před očima tvýma, v nenávisti máš všecky činitele nepravosti.
6 You will destroy those who speak lies. Adonai abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
Zatratíš mluvící lež. Èlověka ukrutného a lstivého v ohavnosti má Hospodin.
7 But as for me, in the abundance of your chesed ·loving-kindness· I will come into your house. I will hawa ·bow low, prostrate· toward your holy temple in reverence of you.
Já pak ve množství milosrdenství tvého vejdu do domu tvého, klaněti se budu k svatému chrámu tvému v bázni tvé.
8 Lead me, Adonai, in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your way straight before my face.
Hospodine, proveď mne v spravedlnosti své, pro ty, jenž mne střehou; spravuj přede mnou cestu svou.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their mouth. Their heart is destruction. Their throat is an open tomb. They flatter with their tongue.
Neboť není v ústech jejich žádné upřímnosti, vnitřnosti jejich plné nešlechetnosti, hrob otevřený hrdlo jejich, jazykem svým lahodně mluví.
10 Hold them condemned guilty, God. Let them fall by their own counsels; Thrust them out in the multitude of their rebellious breaches of relationships, for they have rebelled against you.
Zkaz je, ó Bože, nechať padnou od rad svých; pro množství nešlechetností jejich rozptyl je, poněvadž odporní jsou tobě.
11 But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who 'ahav ·affectionately love· your name be joyful in you.
A ať se všickni v tě doufající radují, na věky ať plésají, když je zastírati budeš; ať se v tobě veselí, kteřížkoli milují jméno tvé.
12 For you will bless the upright. Adonai, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.
Nebo ty, Hospodine, požehnáš spravedlivému, a jako štítem přívětivostí svou vůkol zastřeš jej.
