< Psalms 26 >
1 Judge me, Adonai, for I have walked in my integrity. I have trusted also in Adonai without wavering.
[A Psalm] of David. Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in my innocence: and hoping in the Lord I shall not be moved.
2 Examine me, Adonai, and prove me. Try my heart and my mind.
Prove me, O Lord, and try me; purify as with fire my reins and my heart.
3 For your chesed ·loving-kindness· is before my eyes. I have walked in your truth.
For your mercy is before mine eyes: and I am well pleased with your truth.
4 I have not sat with deceitful men, neither will I go in with hypocrites.
I have not sat with the council of vanity, and will in nowise enter in with transgressors.
5 I hate the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.
I have hated the assembly of wicked doers; and will not sit with ungodly [men].
6 I will wash my hands in innocence, so I will go about your altar, Adonai;
I will wash my hands in innocency, and compass your altar, O Lord:
7 that I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be sh'ma ·heard obeyed·, and tell of all your wondrous deeds.
to hear the voice of praise, and to declare all your wonderful works.
8 Adonai, I 'ahav ·affectionately love· the habitation of your house, the place where your kavod ·weighty glory· dwells.
O Lord, I have loved the beauty of your house, and the place of the tabernacle of your glory.
9 Don’t gather my soul with people who sin ·intentionally miss the mark goal·, nor my life with bloodthirsty men;
Destroy not my soul together with the ungodly, nor my life with bloody men:
10 in whose hands is wickedness, their right hand is full of bribes.
in whose hands [are] iniquities, [and] their right hand is filled with bribes.
11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity. Redeem me, and be merciful to me.
But I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy upon me.
12 My foot stands in an even place. In the congregations I will bless Adonai.
My foot stands in an even place: in the congregations will I bless you, O Lord.
