< Psalms 21 >

1 The King (Messiah [Anointed one]) rejoices in your strength, Adonai! How greatly he rejoices in your yishu'ah ·salvation·!
In finem, Psalmus David. Domine in virtute tua lætabitur rex: et super salutare tuum exultabit vehementer.
2 You have given him his heart’s desire, and have not withheld the request of his lips. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
Desiderium cordis eius tribuisti ei: et voluntate labiorum eius non fraudasti eum.
3 For you meet him with the blessings of goodness. You set a crown of fine gold on his head.
Quoniam prævenisti eum in benedictionibus dulcedinis: posuisti in capite eius coronam de lapide pretioso.
4 He asked life of you, you gave it to him, even length of days forever and ever.
Vitam petiit a te: et tribuisti ei longitudinem dierum in sæculum, et in sæculum sæculi.
5 His kavod ·weighty glory· is great in your yishu'ah ·salvation·. You lay honor and majesty on him.
Magna est gloria eius in salutari tuo: gloriam et magnum decorem impones super eum.
6 For you make him most blessed forever. You make him glad with joy in your presence.
Quoniam dabis eum in benedictionem in sæculum sæculi: lætificabis eum in gaudio cum vultu tuo.
7 For the king trusts in Adonai. Through the chesed ·loving-kindness· of haElyon [the Most High], he shall not be moved.
Quoniam rex sperat in Domino: et in misericordia Altissimi non commovebitur.
8 Your hand will find out all of your enemies. Your right hand will find out those who hate you.
Inveniatur manus tua omnibus inimicis tuis: dextera tua inveniat omnes, qui te oderunt.
9 You will make them as a fiery furnace in the time of your anger. Adonai will swallow them up in his wrath. The fire shall devour them.
Pones eos ut clibanum ignis in tempore vultus tui: Dominus in ira sua conturbabit eos, et devorabit eos ignis.
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from among the children of men.
Fructum eorum de terra perdes: et semen eorum a filiis hominum.
11 For they intended evil against you. They plotted evil against you which cannot succeed.
Quoniam declinaverunt in te mala; cogitaverunt consilia, quæ non potuerunt stabilire.
12 For you will make them turn their back, when you aim drawn bows at their face.
Quoniam pones eos dorsum: in reliquiis tuis præparabis vultum eorum.
13 Be exalted, Adonai, in your strength, so we will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to your power.
Exaltare Domine in virtute tua: cantabimus et psallemus virtutes tuas.
