Psalms 16
1 Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge.
(En miktam af David.) Vogt mig, Gud, thi jeg lider på dig!
2 My soul, you have said to Adonai, “You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing.”
Jeg siger til HERREN: "Du er min Herre; jeg har ikke andet Gode end dig.
3 As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
De hellige, som er i Landet, de er de herlige, hvem al min Hu står til."
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another deity. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips.
Mange Kvaler rammer dem, som vælger en anden Gud; deres Blodofre vil jeg ikke udgyde, ej tage deres Navn i min Mund.
5 Adonai assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.
HERREN er min tilmålte Del og mit Bæger. Du holder min Arvelod i Hævd.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a good inheritance.
Snorene faldt mig på liflige Steder, ja, en dejlig Arvelod tilfaldt mig.
7 I will bless Adonai, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons.
Jeg vil prise HERREN, der gav mig Råd, mine Nyrer maner mig, selv om Natten.
8 I always set Adonai before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
Jeg har altid HERREN for Øje, han er ved min højre, jeg rokkes ikke.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my kavod ·weighty glory· rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety.
Derfor glædes mit Hjerte, min Ære jubler, endogså mit Kød skal bo i Tryghed.
10 For you will not leave my soul in Sheol ·Place of the dead·, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption. (Sheol h7585)
Thi Dødsriget giver du ikke min Sjæl, lader ikke din hellige skue Graven. (Sheol h7585)
11 You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.
Du lærer mig Livets Vej; man mættes af Glæde for dit Åsyn, Livsalighed er i din højre for evigt.
