< Psalms 132 >

1 Adonai, remember David [Beloved] and all his affliction,
Canticum graduum. Memento Domine David, et omnis mansuetudinis eius:
2 how he swore to Adonai, and vowed to the 'Avir Ya'akov [Mighty One of Supplanter]:
Sicut iuravit Domino, votum vovit Deo Iacob:
3 “Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;
Si introiero in tabernaculum domus meæ, si ascendero in lectum strati mei:
4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids;
Si dedero somnum oculis meis, et palpebris meis dormitationem:
5 until I find out a place for Adonai, a dwelling for the 'Avir Ya'akov [Mighty One of Supplanter].”
Et requiem temporibus meis: donec inveniam locum Domino, tabernaculum Deo Iacob.
6 Behold, we sh'ma ·heard obeyed· of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:
Ecce audivimus eam in Ephrata: invenimus eam in campis silvæ.
7 “We will go into his dwelling place. We will hawa ·bow low, prostrate· to worship at his footstool.
Introibimus in tabernaculum eius: adorabimus in loco, ubi steterunt pedes eius.
8 Arise, Adonai, into your resting place; you, and the ark of your strength.
Surge Domine in requiem tuam, tu et arca sanctificationis tuæ.
9 Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!”
Sacerdotes tui induantur iustitiam: et sancti tui exultent.
10 For your servant David [Beloved]’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.
Propter David servum tuum, non avertas faciem Christi tui.
11 Adonai has sworn to David [Beloved] in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.
Iuravit Dominus David veritatem, et non frustrabitur eam: de fructu ventris tui ponam super sedem tuam.
12 If your children will keep my covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forever more.”
Si custodierint filii tui testamentum meum, et testimonia mea hæc, quæ docebo eos: Et filii eorum usque in sæculum, sedebunt super sedem tuam.
13 For Adonai has chosen Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking]. He has desired it for his habitation.
Quoniam elegit Dominus Sion: elegit eam in habitationem sibi.
14 “This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.
Hæc requies mea in sæculum sæculi: hic habitabo quoniam elegi eam.
15 I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
Viduam eius benedicens benedicam: pauperes eius saturabo panibus.
16 Her priests I will also clothe with yesha' ·salvation·. Her saints will shout aloud for joy.
Sacerdotes eius induam salutari: et sancti eius exultatione exultabunt.
17 There I will make the horn of David [Beloved] to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.
Illuc producam cornu David, paravi lucernam Christo meo.
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent.”
Inimicos eius induam confusione: super ipsum autem efflorebit sanctificatio mea.
