< Psalms 116 >
1 I 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai, because he sh'ma ·hears obeys· my voice, and my cries for mercy.
Eg elskar Herren, for han høyrer mi røyst, mine bøner.
2 Because he has turned his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
3 The cords of death surrounded me, the pains of Sheol ·Place of the dead· got a hold of me. I found trouble and sorrow. (Sheol )
Daude-band hadde spent seg um meg, helheims trengsla hadde funne meg; naud og sorg fann eg. (Sheol )
4 Then I called on Adonai’s name: “Adonai, I beg you, deliver my soul.”
Men eg kalla på Herrens namn: «Å Herre, berga mi sjæl!»
5 Adonai is gracious and righteous. Yes, our God is racham ·merciful love·.
6 Adonai preserves the simple. I was brought low, and he saved me.
7 Teshuvah ·Completely return· to your rest, my soul, for Adonai has dealt bountifully with you.
Kom attende, mi sjæl, til di ro! for Herren hev gjort vel imot deg.
8 For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
Ja, du fria mi sjæl frå dauden, mitt auga frå tåror, min fot frå fall.
9 I will walk before Adonai in the land of the living.
Eg skal vandra for Herrens åsyn i landi åt dei livande.
10 I trusted, therefore I said, “I was greatly afflicted.”
Eg trudde, for eg tala; eg var i stor plåga.
11 I said in my haste, “All men are liars.”
Eg sagde i min ræddhug: «Kvar mann er ein ljugar!»
12 What will I give to Adonai for all his benefits toward me?
Kva skal eg gjeva Herren att for alle hans velgjerningar imot meg?
13 I will take the cup of yishu'ah ·salvation·, and call on Adonai’s name.
Eg vil lyfta frelse-staupet, og Herrens namn vil eg påkalla.
14 I will pay my vows to Adonai, yes, in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in Adonai’s sight is the death of his saints.
Dyr er i Herrens augo dauden åt hans heilage.
16 Adonai, truly I am your servant. I am your servant, the son of your servant. You have freed me from my chains.
Å Herre, eg er din tenar, veit du, eg er din tenar, son åt di tenestkvinna; du hev løyst mine band.
17 I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call on Adonai’s name.
18 I will pay my vows to Adonai, yes, in the presence of all his people,
19 in the courts of Adonai’s house, in the middle of you, Jerusalem [City of peace]. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
i fyregardarne til Herrens hus, midt i deg, Jerusalem. Halleluja!
