< Psalms 114 >

1 When Israel [God prevails] went out of Egypt [Abode of slavery], the house of Jacob [Supplanter] from a people of foreign language;
Israeri akati abuda muIjipiti, imba yaJakobho ichibva kurudzi runo mutauro wokumwe,
2 Judah [Praised] became his sanctuary, Israel [God prevails] his dominion.
Judha akava imba tsvene yaMwari, Israeri ushe hwake.
3 The sea saw it, and fled. The Jordan [Descender] was driven back.
Gungwa rakazviona rikatiza, Jorodhani rwakadzokera shure;
4 The mountains skipped like rams, the little hills like lambs.
makomo akakwakuka samakondobwe, zvikomo samakwayana.
5 What was it, you sea, that you fled? You Jordan [Descender], that you turned back?
Haiwa gungwa, wakatizeiko, iwe Jorodhani zvawakadzokera shure,
6 You mountains, that you skipped like rams; you little hills, like lambs?
imi makomo zvamakakwakuka samakondobwe, nemi zvikomo, samakwayana?
7 Tremble, you earth, at the presence of 'Adon [Lord], at the presence of the God of Jacob [Supplanter],
Dedera, iwe nyika pamberi paShe, pamberi paMwari waJakobho,
8 who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of waters.
akashandura dombo rikava dziva, dombo rakaoma rikava matsime emvura.
