Psalms 106
1 Praise Adonai! Yadah ·Extend hands in thankful praise· to Adonai, for he is good, for his chesed ·loving-kindness· endures forever.
Halleluja! Prisa Herren, for han er god, for æveleg varer hans miskunn!
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of Adonai, or sh'ma ·hear obey, fully declare· all his praise?
Kven kann fullt ut nemna Herrens velduge verk, forkynna all hans lov?
3 Blessed are those who keep mishpat ·justice·. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.
Sæle er dei som tek vare på det som rett er, den som gjer rettferd til kvar tid!
4 Remember me, Adonai, with the favor that you show to your people. Visit me with your yishu'ah ·salvation·,
Herre, kom meg i hug med den godhug du hev for ditt folk, gjesta meg med di frelsa!
5 that I may see the prosperity of your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation, that I may glory with your inheritance.
so eg kann skoda lukka åt dine utvalde, gleda meg med ditt folks gleda, rosa meg med din arv.
6 We have sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)· with our fathers. We have committed iniquity. We have been condemned as guilty.
Me hev synda med våre feder, me hev gjort ille, me hev vore ugudlege.
7 Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt [Abode of slavery]. They didn’t remember the multitude of your chesed ·loving-kindnesses·, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea].
Våre feder i Egyptarland agta ikkje på dine under, dei kom ikkje i hug dine mange nådegjerningar, men dei var tråssuge ved havet, ved Raudehavet.
8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name’s sake, that he might make his mighty power known.
Men endå frelste han deim for sitt namn skuld, av di han vilde kunngjera si magt,
9 He rebuked the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea] also, and it was dried up; so he led them through the depths, as through a desert.
og han truga Raudehavet so det vart turt, og han let deim ganga gjenom djupi som på slette marki,
10 He saved them from the hand of him who hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
og han frelste deim frå hans hand som hata deim, og løyste deim ut or fiendehand,
11 The waters covered their adversaries. There was not one of them left.
og vatn gøymde deira motstandarar, ikkje ein vart att av deim.
12 Then they trusted his words. They sang his tehilah ·praise song·.
Då trudde dei på ordi hans, då song dei hans lov.
13 They soon forgot his works. They didn’t wait for his counsel,
Men snart gløymde dei hans gjerningar, dei bia ikkje på hans råd;
14 but gave in to craving in the desert, and tested God in the wasteland.
men dei fekk ein gir i seg i øydemarki, og dei freista Gud på den ubygde stad.
15 He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.
Då gav han deim det dei vilde hava, men sende tærande sjukdom yver deira liv.
16 They envied Moses [Drawn out] also in the camp, and Aaron [Light-bringer], Adonai’s saint.
Og dei vart ovundsjuke på Moses i lægret, på Aron, Herrens heilage.
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
Då opna jordi seg og slukte Datan, og ho let seg att yver flokken åt Abiram,
18 A fire was kindled in their company. The flame burned up the wicked.
og det kveiktest eld på flokken deira, ein loge brende upp dei ugudlege.
19 They made a calf in Horeb [Desert], and hawa ·bowed low, prostrated· worshiped a molten image.
Dei gjorde ein kalv ved Horeb og tilbad eit støypt bilæte,
20 Thus they exchanged their kavod ·weighty glory· for an image of a bull that eats grass.
og dei bytte burt si æra for bilætet av ein ukse som et gras.
21 They forgot God, their source of salvation, who had done great things in Egypt [Abode of slavery],
Dei gløymde Gud, sin frelsar, som hadde gjort store ting i Egyptarland,
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham [Hot, Intensity, Passion], and awesome things by the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea].
undergjerningar i Khams land, skræmelege ting ved Raudehavet.
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had Moses [Drawn out], his chosen, not stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, so that he would not destroy them.
Og han tenktest til å tyna deim, dersom ikkje Moses, hans utvalde, hadde kasta seg imillom for hans åsyn til å avvenda hans vreide, at han ikkje skulde øydeleggja.
24 Yes, they despised the pleasant land. They didn’t trust his word,
Og dei vanvyrde det herlege landet, dei trudde ikkje ordet hans,
25 but murmured in their tents, and didn’t sh'ma ·hear obey· Adonai’s voice.
og dei knurra i sine tjeld, høyrde ikkje på Herrens røyst.
26 Therefore he swore to them that he would overthrow them in the wilderness,
Då lyfte han si hand imot deim til å slå deim ned i øydemarki,
27 that he would overthrow their offspring among the nations, and scatter them in the lands.
og slå deira etterkomarar ned millom heidningarne og spreida deim kring i landi.
28 They joined themselves also to Baal Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
Og dei batt seg saman med Ba’al-Peor, og dei åt av offer til dei daude,
29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their deeds. The plague broke in on them.
og dei vekte harm ved si åtferd, og ei plåga braut ut millom deim.
30 Then Pinchas [Bronze skin] stood up, and executed judgment, so the plague was stopped.
Då stod Pinehas fram og heldt dom, og plåga stilltest;
31 That was credited to him for righteousness, for all generations to come.
og det vart rekna honom til rettferd frå ætt til ætt æveleg.
32 They angered him also at the waters of Meribah [Quarreling], so that Moses [Drawn out] was troubled for their sakes;
Og dei vekte vreide ved Meribavatnet, og det gjekk Moses ille for deira skuld;
33 because they were rebellious against his spirit, he spoke rashly with his lips.
for dei var tråssuge mot hans ande, og han tala tankelaust med sine lippor.
34 They didn’t destroy the peoples, as Adonai ordered them to do,
Dei øydelagde ikkje dei folki som Herren hadde tala med deim um,
35 but mixed themselves with the nations, and learned their works.
men dei blanda seg med heidningarne og lærde deira gjerningar,
36 They abad ·served· their idols, which became a snare to them.
og dei tente deira avgudar, og desse vart deim til ei snara,
37 Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons.
og dei ofra sine søner og døtter til magterne,
38 They shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan [Humbled]. The land was polluted with blood.
og dei rende ut skuldlaust blod, blod av sine søner og døtter som dei ofra til Kana’ans avgudar, og landet vart vanhelga med blodskuld.
39 Thus were they defiled with their works, and prostituted themselves in their deeds.
Og dei vart ureine ved sine gjerningar og dreiv hor ved si åtferd.
40 Therefore Adonai burned with anger against his people. He abhorred his inheritance.
Då loga Herrens vreide upp imot hans folk, og han stygdest ved sin arv.
41 He gave them into the hand of the nations. Those who hated them ruled over them.
Og han gav deim i handi på heidningar, og dei som hata deim, vart herrar yver deim,
42 Their enemies also oppressed them. They were brought into subjection under their hand.
og deira fiendar trengde deim, og dei laut bøygja seg under deira hand.
43 Many times he delivered them, but they were rebellious in their counsel, and were brought low in their depravity (moral evil).
Mange gonger fria han deim ut, men dei var tråssuge og sjølvrådige, og dei kom reint i vesaldom for si misgjerning.
44 Nevertheless he regarded their distress, when he sh'ma ·heard obeyed· their cry.
Men han såg til deim då dei var i naud, med di han høyrde deira klagerop.
45 He remembered for them his covenant, and relented according to the multitude of his chesed ·loving-kindnesses·.
Og han kom i hug si pakt for deim, og han ynkast etter si store miskunn.
46 He made them also to be shown rachamim ·compassionate loves· by all those who carried them captive.
Og han let deim finna miskunn hjå alle som hadde fanga deim.
47 Save us, Adonai, our God, gather us from among the nations, yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to your holy name, to triumph in your tehilah ·praise song·!
Frels oss, Herre vår Gud, og samla oss frå heidningarne, so me kann prisa ditt heilage namn, rosa oss av ditt lov!
48 Blessed be Adonai, the God of Israel [God prevails], from everlasting even to everlasting! Let all the people say, “Amen ·So be it·.” Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
Lova vere Herren, Israels Gud, frå æva og til æva! Og alt folket segje: Amen. Halleluja!
