Numbers 31
1 Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
Đức Giê-hô-va lại phán cùng Môi-se rằng:
2 “Avenge the children of Israel [God prevails] for the Midianites [Descendants of Strife]. Afterward you shall be gathered to your people.”
Hãy báo thù dân Ma-đi-an cho dân Y-sơ-ra-ên; rồi ngươi sẽ được về cùng tổ phụ.
3 Moses [Drawn out] spoke to the people, saying, “Arm men from among you for the war, that they may go against Midian [Strife], to execute Adonai’s vengeance on Midian [Strife].
Vậy, Môi-se truyền cho dân sự rằng: Trong các ngươi hãy sắm sửa binh khí mà ra trận hãm đánh dân Ma-đi-an đặng báo thù dân đó cho Đức Giê-hô-va.
4 Of every tribe one thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel [God prevails], you shall send to the war.”
Về mỗi chi phái Y-sơ-ra-ên, các ngươi phải sai một ngàn lính ra trận.
5 So there were delivered, out of the thousands of Israel [God prevails], a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
Vậy, trong dân Y-sơ-ra-ên người ta cứ mỗi chi phái chọn một ngàn lính, là mười hai ngàn người sắm sửa binh khí đặng ra trận.
6 Moses [Drawn out] sent them, one thousand of every tribe, to the war, them and Pinchas [Bronze skin] the son of Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, to the war, with the utensils of the sanctuary and the trumpets for the alarm in his hand.
Môi-se sai mười hai ngàn người đó ra trận, tức là sai một ngàn người về mỗi chi phái, với Phi-nê-a, con trai của Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, đem đi theo mình, những khí giới thánh cùng kèn có tiếng vang.
7 They fought against Midian [Strife], as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out]. They killed every male.
Vậy, chúng giao chiến cùng dân Ma-đi-an, y như Đức Giê-hô-va đã phán dặn Môi-se, và giết hết thảy nam đinh.
8 They killed the kings of Midian [Strife] with the rest of their slain: Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba, the five kings of Midian [Strife]. They also killed Balaam [Not people, Destroyer of people] the son of Beor with the sword.
Trong các người bị giết chúng cũng giết năm vua Ma-đi-an, là: Ê-vi, Rê-kem, Xu-rơ, Hu-rơ, và Rê-ba; cũng lấy gươm giết Ba-la-am, con trai của Bê-ô.
9 The children of Israel [God prevails] took the women of Midian [Strife] captive with their little ones; and all their livestock, all their flocks, and all their goods, they took as plunder.
Dân Y-sơ-ra-ên bắt đàn bà và con nít Ma-đi-an dẫn theo, cướp hết thảy súc vật, bầy chiên và của cải họ,
10 All their cities in the places in which they lived, and all their encampments, they burned with fire.
đốt hết những thành, nhà ở, và hương thôn chúng nó,
11 They took all the captives, and all the plunder, both of man and of animal.
cũng lấy đem theo hết thảy của đoạt được, bất k” người hay vật.
12 They brought the captives, and the prey, and the plunder, to Moses [Drawn out], and to Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, and to the congregation of the children of Israel [God prevails], to the camp at the plains of Moab [From father], which are by the Jordan [Descender] at Jericho [Fragrant, Moon].
Chúng dẫn những kẻ bị bắt và những của đoạt được đến cho Môi-se, cho Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, và cho hội dân Y-sơ-ra-ên đang đóng trại tại đồng bằng Mô-áp, gần sông Giô-đanh, đối ngang Giê-ri-cô.
13 Moses [Drawn out], and Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went out to meet them outside of the camp.
Bấy giờ, Môi-se, Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, và hết thảy hội trưởng đi ra đón rước chúng binh ngoài trại quân.
14 Moses [Drawn out] was angry with the officers of the army, the captains of thousands and the captains of hundreds, who came from the service of the war.
Môi-se nổi giận cùng các quân trưởng, tức là quan tướng một ngàn quân và quan tướng một trăm quân đi đánh giặc nầy trở về.
15 Moses [Drawn out] said to them, “Have you saved all the women alive?
Môi-se nói cùng họ rằng: Các ngươi để hết thảy người nữ còn sống sao?
16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel [God prevails], through the counsel of Balaam [Not people, Destroyer of people], to commit an unfaithful act against Adonai in the matter of Peor, and so the plague was among the congregation of Adonai.
Kìa, ấy là chúng nó theo mưu kế của Ba-la-am mà dụ dỗ dân Y-sơ-ra-ên cúng thờ Phê-ô, và phạm một tội trọng cùng Đức Giê-hô-va; và tội đó xui cho hội chúng của Đức Giê-hô-va bị tai vạ.
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man by lying with him.
Vậy bây giờ, hãy giết hết thảy nam đinh trong bọn con trẻ, và giết người nữ nào đã kết bạn cùng một người nam;
18 But all the girls, who have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
nhưng hãy để sống cho các ngươi hết thảy con gái chưa hề kết bạn cùng người nam.
19 “Encamp outside of the camp seven days. Whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, cleanse sin ·err (the standard goal)· from yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.
Còn về phần các ngươi, hãy đóng trại ngoài trại quân trong bảy ngày. Ai có giết một người và có đụng đến một xác chết, thì ai đó cùng kẻ bị bắt, phải dọn cho mình được sạch ngày thứ ba và ngày thứ bảy.
20 As to every garment, and all that is made of skin, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood, you shall purify yourselves.”
Cũng phải làm cho sạch hết thảy áo xống, mọi vật bằng da, mọi vật bằng lông dê, và mọi đồ đạc bằng cây.
21 Eleazar [Help of God] the priest said to the men of war who went to the battle, “This is the statute of the Torah ·Teaching· which Adonai has enjoined Moses [Drawn out]:
Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, nói cùng những lính trận đi về, mà rằng: Nầy là điều luật pháp dạy mà Đức Giê-hô-va đã truyền cho Môi-se:
22 however the gold, and the silver, the bronze, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
vàng, bạc, đồng, sắt, thiếc, chì,
23 everything that may withstand the fire, you shall make to go through the fire, and it shall be clean; nevertheless it shall be cleansed from sin ·err (the standard goal)· with the water for impurity. All that does not withstand the fire you shall make to go through the water.
tức là mọi vật đưa vào lửa được, thì các ngươi phải đưa ngang qua lửa đặng luyện nó; nhưng người ta cũng phải dùng nước tẩy uế mà làm cho nó được sạch nữa. Còn mọi vật chi không đưa qua lửa được, thì phải ngâm nó trong nước.
24 You shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and you shall be clean. Afterward you shall come into the camp.”
Ngày thứ bảy các ngươi phải giặt áo xống mình, thì sẽ được sạch; đoạn mới được vào trại quân.
25 Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out], saying,
Đức Giê-hô-va lại phán cùng Môi-se rằng:
26 “Count the plunder that was taken, both of man and of animal, you, and Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the congregation;
Ngươi, Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, và các quan trưởng của những tông tộc, hãy dựng sổ về của giặc mà người ta đã đoạt được, nào người, nào vật,
27 and divide the plunder into two parts: between the men skilled in war, who went out to battle, and all the congregation.
rồi chia của đó cho các người đã ra trận và cho cả hội chúng.
28 Levy a tribute to Adonai of the men of war who went out to battle: one soul of five hundred; of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks.
Trong phần thuộc về quân binh đã ra trận, hoặc người, hoặc bò, hoặc lừa hay chiên, ngươi phải cứ thâu một phần trong năm trăm mà đóng thuế cho Đức Giê-hô-va,
29 Take it from their half, and give it to Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, for Adonai’s wave offering.
tức phải thâu thuế đó trong phân nửa thuộc về quân binh và giao cho Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, làm lễ vật dâng cho Đức Giê-hô-va.
30 Of the children of Israel [God prevails]’s half, you shall take one drawn out of every fifty, of the persons, of the cattle, of the donkeys, and of the flocks, of all the livestock, and give them to the Levites [Descendants of United with], who perform the duty of Adonai’s tabernacle.”
Còn trong phân nửa kia thuộc về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, hoặc người, hoặc bò, hoặc lừa hay chiên, tức các súc vật, ngươi phải cứ mỗi năm chục mà để riêng ra một, và giao cho người Lê-vi có chức phận coi sóc đền tạm của Đức Giê-hô-va.
31 Moses [Drawn out] and Eleazar [Help of God] the priest did as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out].
Môi-se và Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, làm y như Đức Giê-hô-va đã phán dặn Môi-se.
32 Now the plunder, over and above the booty which the men of war took, was six hundred seventy-five thousand sheep,
Vả, của giặc còn lại mà quân binh cướp lấy được, là sáu trăm bảy mươi lăm ngàn con chiên cái;
33 and seventy-two thousand head of cattle,
bảy mươi hai ngàn con bò,
34 and sixty-one thousand donkeys,
sáu mươi mốt ngàn con lừa đực.
35 and thirty-two thousand persons in all, of the women who had not known man by lying with him.
Người nữ chưa kết bạn cùng người nam nào, hết thảy được ba mươi hai ngàn người.
36 The half, which was the portion of those who went out to war, was in number three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep:
Phân nửa thuộc về kẻ đã đi trận, là ba trăm ba mươi bảy ngàn năm trăm con chiên cái,
37 and Adonai’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred seventy-five.
đóng thuế cho Đức Giê-hô-va là sáu trăm bảy mươi lăm con;
38 The cattle were thirty-six thousand; of which Adonai’s tribute was seventy-two.
ba mươi sáu ngàn con bò, đóng thuế cho Đức Giê-hô-va là bảy mươi hai con;
39 The donkeys were thirty thousand five hundred; of which Adonai’s tribute was sixty-one.
ba ngàn năm trăm con lừa đực, và đóng thuế cho Đức Giê-hô-va sáu mươi mốt con;
40 The persons were sixteen thousand; of whom Adonai’s tribute was thirty-two persons.
mười sáu ngàn người, và đóng thuế cho Đức Giê-hô-va là ba mươi hai người.
41 Moses [Drawn out] gave the tribute, which was Adonai’s wave offering, to Eleazar [Help of God] the priest, as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out].
Môi-se giao cho Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ của thuế làm lễ vật dâng cho Đức Giê-hô-va, y như Đức Giê-hô-va đã phán dặn Môi-se.
42 Of the children of Israel [God prevails]’s half, which Moses [Drawn out] divided off from the men who fought
Phân nửa kia thuộc về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, tức là phân nửa mà Môi-se chia ra với phân nửa của quân binh đã đi trận,
43 (now the congregation’s half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,
phân nửa nầy thuộc về hội chúng, số là ba trăm ba mươi bảy ngàn năm trăm con chiên cái,
44 and thirty-six thousand head of cattle,
ba mươi sáu ngàn con bò,
45 and thirty thousand five hundred donkeys,
ba mươi ngàn năm trăm con lừa,
46 and sixteen thousand persons),
và mười sáu ngàn người.
47 even of the children of Israel [God prevails]’s half, Moses [Drawn out] took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites [Descendants of United with], who performed the duty of Adonai’s tabernacle; as Adonai enjoined Moses [Drawn out].
Trong phân nửa nầy thuộc về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên, Môi-se cứ mỗi năm chục thì để riêng ra một, bất luận người hay vật, và giao cho người Lê-vi có chức phận coi sóc đền tạm của Đức Giê-hô-va, y như Đức Giê-hô-va đã phán dặn mình.
48 The officers who were over the thousands of the army, the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, came near to Moses [Drawn out].
Những quan trưởng, tức là quan tướng một ngàn quân và quan tướng một trăm quân, đến gần Môi-se
49 They said to Moses [Drawn out], “Your servants have taken the sum of the men of war who are under our charge, and there lacks not one man of us.
mà rằng: Những kẻ tôi tớ ông đã dựng sổ chiến sĩ, là người ở dưới quyền chúng tôi, và không thiếu một tên.
50 We have brought Adonai’s offering, what every man has gotten, of jewels of gold, armlets, and bracelets, signet rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make atonement for our souls before Adonai.”
Mỗi người trong chúng tôi có đem đến đồ bằng vàng mình đã được, hoặc dây chuyền, hoặc vòng, hoặc cà-rá, hoặc hoa tai, hoặc kiềng, làm lễ vật dâng cho Đức Giê-hô-va đặng chuộc tội cho mình trước mặt Ngài.
51 Moses [Drawn out] and Eleazar [Help of God] the priest took their gold, even all worked jewels.
Môi-se và Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, bèn nhận lãnh vàng, và hết thảy đồ trang sức làm công kỹ.
52 All the gold of the wave offering that they offered up to Adonai, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred fifty shekels [418.75 lb; 189.95 kg].
Hết thảy vàng về lễ vật mà những quan tướng một ngàn quân và quan tướng một trăm quân dâng cho Đức Giê-hô-va, cộng là mười sáu ngàn bảy trăm năm mươi siếc-lơ.
53 The men of war had taken booty, every man for himself.
Vả, mỗi người trong quân binh đều có cướp lấy vật cho mình.
54 Moses [Drawn out] and Eleazar [Help of God] the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the Tent of Meeting, for a memorial for the children of Israel [God prevails] before Adonai.
Vậy, Môi-se và Ê-lê-a-sa, thầy tế lễ, nhận lãnh vàng của quan tướng ngàn quân và trăm quân, rồi đem vào hội mạc làm kỷ niệm về dân Y-sơ-ra-ên trước mặt Đức Giê-hô-va.
