Matthew 10
1 He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.
Entonces llamando a sus doce discípulos, les dio potestad contra los espíritus inmundos, para que los echasen fuera, y sanasen toda enfermedad, y toda dolencia.
2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simeon [Hearing], who is called Peter [Rock]; Andrew [Manly], his brother; James son of Zebedee [Surplanter son of Yah Has Bestowed]; John [Yah is gracious], his brother;
Y los nombres de los doce Apóstoles son estos: El primero, Simón, que es llamado Pedro, y Andrés, su hermano: Santiago, hijo de Zebedeo, y Juan su hermano:
3 Philip [Loves horses]; Bartholomew [Son who suspends waters]; Thomas [Seeker of truth]; Matthew [Gift of Yah] the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus [Surplanter son-of Changing]; Lebbaeus [Child of courage], who was also called Thaddaeus [Child of heart];
Felipe, y Bartolomé: Tomás, y Mateo el publicano: Santiago, hijo de Alfeo, y Lebeo, que tenía el sobrenombre de Tadeo:
4 Simeon [Hearing] the Canaanite [Descendant of Humbled]; and Judas Iscariot [Praised Dagger-man], who also betrayed him.
Simón de Cana, y Júdas Iscariote, que también le entregó.
5 Yeshua [Salvation] sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, “Don’t go among the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans [people from Watch-mountain].
Estos doce envió Jesús, a los cuales dio mandamiento, diciendo: Por el camino de los Gentiles no iréis, y en ciudad de Samaritanos no entréis:
6 Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel [God prevails].
Mas íd antes a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.
7 As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven (God) is at hand!’
Y yendo, predicád, diciendo: El reino de los cielos ha llegado.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the people afflicted with tzara'at ·leprosy·, and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.
Sanád enfermos, limpiád leprosos, resucitád muertos, echád fuera demonios: de gracia recibisteis, dad de gracia.
9 Don’t take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.
No proveáis oro, ni plata, ni dinero en vuestras bolsas,
10 Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.
Ni alforja para el camino, ni dos ropas de vestir, ni zapatos, ni bordón; porque el obrero digno es de su alimento.
11 Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.
Mas en cualquiera ciudad o aldea, donde entraréis, buscád con diligencia quien sea en ella digno, y morád allí hasta que salgáis.
12 As you enter into the household, say “Shalom aleikhem! ·Complete peace my family·!
Y entrando en la casa, saludádla.
13 If the household deserves it, let your shalom ·complete peace· come on it, but if it is not, let your shalom ·complete peace· make teshuvah ·complete return· to you.
Y si la casa fuere digna, que vuestra paz venga sobre ella; mas si no fuere digna, que vuestra paz vuelva sobre vosotros.
14 Whoever does not receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.
Y cualquiera que no os recibiere, ni oyere vuestras palabras, salíd de aquella casa o ciudad, y sacudíd el polvo de vuestros pies.
15 Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom [Burning] and Gomorrah [Rebellious people, Tyrants] in the day of judgment than for that city.
De cierto os digo: Que el castigo será más tolerable a la tierra de Sodoma, y de Gomorra en el día del juicio, que a aquella ciudad.
16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
He aquí, yo os envió, como a ovejas en medio de lobos: sed pues prudentes como serpientes, y sencillos como palomas.
17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
Y guardáos de los hombres; porque os entregarán a los concilios, y en sus sinagogas os azotarán.
18 Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.
Y aun ante gobernadores, y reyes seréis llevados por causa de mí, para testimonio contra ellos, y los Gentiles.
19 But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.
Mas cuando os entregaren, no os congojéis cómo, o qué habéis de hablar; porque en aquella hora os será dado que habléis.
20 For it is not you who speak, but haRuach [the Spirit] of 'Avikah ·your Father· who speaks in you.
Porque no sois vosotros los que habláis, sino el Espíritu de vuestro Padre, que habla en vosotros.
21 “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.
El hermano entregará al hermano a la muerte, y el padre al hijo; y los hijos se levantarán contra los padres, y los harán morir.
22 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.
Y seréis aborrecidos de todos por causa de mi nombre; mas el que lo soportare hasta el fin, éste será salvo.
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel [God prevails], until the Son of Man has come.
Mas cuando os persiguieren en esta ciudad, huid a la otra; porque de cierto os digo, que no acabaréis de andar todas las ciudades de Israel, que no venga el Hijo del hombre.
24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
El discípulo no es más que su Maestro, ni el siervo más que su Señor.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Ba'al-Zibbul [Lord of Flies], how much more those of his household!
Bástele al discípulo ser como su Maestro, y al siervo como su Señor: si al mismo padre de familias llamaron Belzebú, ¿cuánto más a los de su casa?
26 Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.
Así que no los temáis; porque nada hay encubierto, que no haya de ser manifestado; y nada oculto que no haya de saberse.
27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
Lo que os digo en tinieblas, decíd lo en luz; y lo que oís al oído, predicád lo desde los tejados.
28 Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna (Place of fiery torment for the dead). (Geenna g1067)
Y no tengáis miedo de los que matan el cuerpo, mas al alma no pueden matar: teméd antes a aquel que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno. (Geenna g1067)
29 “Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion coin (a trivial cost)? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from 'Avikah ·your Father·’s will,
¿No se venden dos pajarillos por una blanca? Y uno de ellos no caerá a tierra sin vuestro Padre.
30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Y vuestros cabellos también, todos están contados.
31 Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
No temáis pues: más valéis vosotros que muchos pajarillos.
32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before 'Avi shebashamayim ·my Father in Heaven·.
Pues cualquiera que me confesare delante de los hombres, le confesaré yo también delante de mi Padre, que está en los cielos.
33 But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before 'Avi shebashamayim ·my Father in Heaven·.
Y cualquiera que me negare delante de los hombres, le negaré yo también delante de mi Padre, que está en los cielos.
34 “Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.
No penséis que he venido para meter paz en la tierra: no he venido para meter paz, sino espada.
35 For I came to set a son at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
Porque he venido para poner en disensión al hombre contra su padre, y a la hija contra su madre, y a la nuera contra su suegra.
36 A man’s foes will be those of his own household.
Y los enemigos del hombre serán los de su casa.
37 He who phileo ·affectionately loves, has high regard, approval of· father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who phileo ·affectionately loves, has high regard, approval of· son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
El que ama a padre o a madre más que a mí, no es digno de mí; y el que ama a hijo o a hija más que a mí, no es digno de mí.
38 He who does not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me.
Y el que no toma su cruz y sigue en pos de mí, no es digno de mí.
39 He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.
El que hallare su vida, la perderá; y el que perdiere su vida por causa de mí, la hallará.
40 He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
El que os recibe a vosotros, a mí recibe; y el que a mí recibe, recibe al que me envió.
41 He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a upright man in the name of a upright man will receive a upright man’s reward.
El que recibe a un profeta en nombre de profeta, galardón de profeta recibirá; y el que recibe a un justo en nombre de justo, galardón de justo recibirá.
42 Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”
Y cualquiera que diere a uno de estos pequeñitos un jarro de agua fría solamente, en nombre de discípulo, de cierto os digo, que no perderá su galardón.
