< Isaiah 8 >

1 Adonai said to me, “Take a large tablet, and write on it with a man’s pen, ‘For Maher Shalal Hash Baz’;
Awo Mukama Katonda n’aŋŋamba nti, “Kwata ekipande ekinene okiwandiikeko n’ekkalaamu nti: Kya Makerusalalukasubazi.”
2 and I will take for myself faithful witnesses to testify: Uriah [My light Yah] the priest, and Zechariah [Remembered by Yah] the son of Jeberechiah.”
Ne ndyoka neeyitira abajulirwa abeesigwa, Uliya kabona, ne Zekkaliya omwana wa Yeberekiya.
3 I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then Adonai said to me, “Call his name ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’
Ne ŋŋenda eri nnabbi omukazi, n’aba olubuto, n’azaala omwana wabulenzi. Mukama Katonda n’alyoka agamba nti, “Mmutuume erinnya Makerusalalukasubazi.
4 For before the child knows how to say, ‘My father,’ and, ‘My mother,’ the riches of Damascus [Bucket of blood] and the plunder of Samaria will be carried away by the king of Assyria [Level plain].”
Kubanga omwana nga tannamanya kugamba nti, ‘Taata’, oba ‘Maama’, obugagga bw’e Ddamasiko n’omunyago gwe Samaliya birinyagibwa kabaka w’e Bwasuli.”
5 Adonai spoke to me yet again, saying,
Mukama Katonda n’addamu n’ayogera nange nti,
6 “Because this people have refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;
“Kubanga abantu bano bagaanye amazzi g’e Sirowa agakulukuta empolampola, ne bajaguza olwa Lezini ne mutabani wa Lemaliya,
7 now therefore, behold, 'Adonay [Lord] brings upon them the mighty flood waters of the River: the king of Assyria [Level plain] and all his glory. It will come up over all its channels, and go over all its banks.
kale nno Mukama anaatera okubaleetako amazzi ag’Omugga, ag’amaanyi era amayitirivu, ye kabaka w’e Bwasuli n’ekitiibwa kye kyonna; galisukka ensalosalo zonna, ne ganjaala ku ttale lyonna.
8 It will sweep onward into Judah [Praised]. It will overflow and pass through; it will reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of its wings will fill the width of your land, 'Immanu El [God is with us].
Era galyeyongera ne ganjaala mu Yuda, galyanjaala ne gamuyitamu gakome ne mu bulago, n’emikutu gyago gyegolole okujjuza ensi yo, ggwe Emmanweri.”
9 Make an uproar, you peoples, and be broken in pieces! Listen, all you from far countries: dress for battle, and be shattered! Dress for battle, and be shattered!
Muyimbe ennyimba z’entalo mmwe amawanga naye mwekaabire. Mutege amatu mmwe mwenna ab’ensi ezeewala; mwenyweze naye mwekaabire; mwenyweze naye mwekaabire.
10 Take counsel together, and it will be brought to nothing; speak the word, and it will not stand: for God is with us.”
Muteese enkola yammwe, naye yakugwa butaka, mwogere ekigambo naye tekirituukirira.
11 For Adonai spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me not to walk in the way of this people, saying,
Kubanga Mukama Katonda yayogera nange ng’antaddeko omukono gwe ogw’amaanyi, ng’andabula nneme okugoberera ekkubo ly’abantu bano, ng’aŋŋamba nti,
12 “Don’t say, ‘A conspiracy!’ concerning all about which this people say, ‘A conspiracy!’ neither fear their threats, nor be terrorized.
“Ebintu byonna abantu bano bye bayita enkwe, temubiyita nkwe, era temutya bye batya, wadde okutekemuka omutima.
13 Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies] is who you must respect as holy. He is the one you must fear. He is the one you must dread.
Naye mujjukire nti nze Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye, nze Mutukuvu, nze gwe muba mutya, era gwe muba mwekengera.
14 He will be a sanctuary, but for both houses of Israel [God prevails], he will be a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall. And a trap and a snare for the inhabitants of Jerusalem [City of peace].
Olw’obutukuvu eri ennyumba zombi eza Isirayiri aliba ejjinja era olwazi kwe bagwa, era alibeera omutego era ekyambika eri ab’omu Yerusaalemi.
15 Many will stumble over it, fall, be broken, be snared, and be captured.”
Era bangi abaliryesittalako, bagwe, bamenyeke, bategebwe bakwatibwe.”
16 Wrap up the testimony. Seal the Torah ·Teaching· among my disciples.
Nyweza obujulirwa okakase amateeka mu bayigirizwa bange.
17 I will wait for Adonai, who hides his face from the house of Jacob [Supplanter], and I will trust in him.
Nange nnaalindirira Mukama Katonda akwese amaaso ge okuva ku nnyumba ya Yakobo, mmunoonye n’essuubi.
18 Behold, I and the children whom Adonai has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel [God prevails] from Adonai Tzva'ot [Yahweh Commander of heaven’s armies], who dwells in Mount Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking].
Laba, nze n’abaana Mukama Katonda bampadde tuli bubonero n’ebyewuunyo mu Isirayiri obuva eri Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye, abeera ku lusozi Sayuuni.
19 When they tell you, “Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter:” should not a people consult with their God? Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living?
Abantu bwe babagamba nti mwebuuze ku abo abaliko emizimu, n’abasamize abakaaba ng’ennyonyi era abajoboja, eggwanga tekirigwanira kwebuuza ku Katonda waalyo? Lwaki ebikwata ku balamu mubibuuza abafu?
20 Turn to the Torah ·Teaching· and to the testimony! If they don’t speak according to this word, surely there is no morning for them.
Tudde eri amateeka n’obujulirwa! Bwe baba teboogera bwe batyo, mazima obudde tebugenda kubakeerera.
21 They will pass through it, very distressed and hungry; and it will happen that when they are hungry, they will worry, and curse by their king and by their God. They will turn their faces upward,
Era baliyita mu nsi nga beeraliikirira nnyo nga balumwa enjala; era enjala bweriyitirira okubaluma ne banyiiga era nga batunudde waggulu balikolimira kabaka ne Katonda waabwe.
22 and look to the earth, and see distress, darkness, and the gloom of anguish. They will be driven into thick darkness.
Era bwe balitunula ku nsi baliraba nnaku na kizikiza, n’entiisa ey’okubonaabona basuulibwe mu kizikiza ekikutte zigizigi.
